Many comments about "the facebook friends" leaving him to die. I don't believe that was the situation. I agree the people on the boat probably did not call the Coast Guard and they did go to shore without him. They probably looked for him for an hour or more and when they could not find him made the decision to go to shore for help, which in my opinion was definitely wrong. They should have made calls from where they were. Best would be to get on channel 16 on the radio for a mayday call and also cell phones 911. Either one would have gotten the Coast Guard involved. And I do not blame the kid that was lost to say "they just left". Because to him...they did. And being a smart experienced diver as he is believes they made the wrong decision. Can't punish the captain or the friends for a bad decision. They probably believed it was best to go to shore to get help.

🙏😇 ~ I do NOT see this as a miracle. Sorry. One thing that was left out of this video is that the family already knew where to go because they went to his favorite diving spot. And they even had the GPS coordinates to his favorite diving spot. So that’s where they went and that’s where they found him. So it was not a needle in a haystack.
And I’m guessing the reason the Coast Guard couldn’t find him is because these random people he was with didn’t know the coordinates from where they were before and where he went missing. So the Coast Guard was either trying the best they could or had wrong information to begin with.
Sometimes there are things that happen that are completely unexplainable. And sometimes it is so unexplainable that it would seem to be a miracle. But this is absolutely not one of them. Sorry.

He was a mile from the gps coordinates. They could have easily missed him if the mom didn’t tell them to stop when they did, he hadn’t found the buoys, or it was dark.
