    The military will always be there, and if you get an itch to serve again, you can do so in the Reserves. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and look forward to what’s next ❤️ Enjoy your time with your family 👍

      I left Active Duty, like you did after several years, and retired on the Reserve side. It’s a completely different beast 👍

    I appreciate you bro, a lot. Been in 12 years and I can honestly say that I’ve had enough of the Navy. Missed way too many important moments and time I’ll never get back with the family. 18 more months and I’m done. Too many deployments being burnt out all the time wasn’t enough for me to keep pushing. Want something different and something I can enjoy.

    Good for you bro 👏. I'm actually going to basic July 5th im going as css for now to get a law degree then commission in the af. I'm sure it'll be different for me since submariners have to do everything on the submarine not just their primary job.

      @@theofficialdaveharris8794 And just to add, I was in the Air Force; when I first went in back in the 80s, I had no car and never left the base much. The chow hall and the cooks and servers were very important to my life. I always said 'thank you' and tried to smile at them because I knew they were busy and had very long days. So, a little appreciation here, sent your way.

    One of the reasons I’m getting out missing out my family especially my brother, get back to my own personal life don’t have to deal with entitled people 24/7 and enjoy my young life and not going to sea shit sucks fr. My recruiter lied to me too about my job which turns not what I expected.

    You look so much better and happier! I know the deal, brother. Hope everything works out for you. Take care of your daughter, be there for her. "precious time" ! Now you can put your own cooking style to your life and recipes if you are going to continue that path. Maybe even just make your own YT cooking channel, I did! Yep, in the military they own you 24/7/365.....welcome to the DepartmentOfDefense. I was so glad to get out and leave forever.

    Can I ask you a quick question about Navy deployment calls? What are the caller IDs usually? Can they show up as “unknown” on my cell? What about 800 numbers (possibly from calling cards)? Thank you 🙏

      I’m sorry I don’t know what the caller Id would say because I was the person always calling people I never had know one call me personally from deployment.

    Respect brother I’m a CSSN with a year and a half in started as an e1 and I already did a deployment and got home port shifted away from my family I can’t wait to get out since I know I’m probably locked as a cs and can’t be a boatswain mate like I want to be before I even joined the cs life isn’t for everyone I know what those 15 hour days be like or even longer I’ve woken up at 0400 and got off during midrats when my master chief fucked us up during a field day walk through

      @@TehMorbidAtheist it took me 3 years from E1-E5 depending on your rate it won’t be that hard to make E5.

    Leaving for bootcamp 4 days as cs in navy. My dad passed away two years ago now just me mom brother and sister. Very close them will miss them . Our current situation is toxic and negative navy opportunity for me.

    I would like to join the navy! I postponed my decision because of family. At the time it was just my mom, brother & me. They passed away than family members disown me. I don’t have anything going for me right now. Joining the navy might give me a boost of confidence. Idk

    My gramma retired from the navy in ‘96..she was also a cook(they ain’t call it CS back then lol) but after she retired she got a bunch of contractor jobs over in the Middle East for cooking and she got RICH. Ik u said you wanna spend time w family and don’t wanna miss out but if you ever need money down the road check it out...also I myself am in currently and got 4 yrs left..Let me just say this shit is

    Only the CO, usually they say yeah.

      @@theofficialdaveharris8794 It's been a little shaky since all my plans fell through. Currently using unemployment while I look for a job and setting up to go to school to continue my degree in Computer Science.

      @@theofficialdaveharris8794 Yes I did. I claimed my Sleep Apnea. I got a CPAP Machine just before I got out the Navy. Now I'm just waiting on the VA to get back to me about my disability claim and how much percentage disability I qualify for.

    I just got out in August. Not due to the Jab..but thank Gawd lol. I'm making more money now than I did when I was in (LS). It just wasn't resonating with me anymore and the politics..ha stupid. Good luck on your journey!

    I remember when I got out it was good but I felt weird being a civilian at first, I was a cook also, when I was in it was ms, not cs. Ya it sucked being a cook the recruiter made it sound good, but the long ass hours sucked. I was on 3 ships and they put me in the wardroom on all 3 ships, and the wardroom sucks bad.

      Yeah I couldn’t see myself doing 20 years in the navy as a cook. I was a cos cook as well and worked in the wardroom.

You went through A/C school in San Antonio you received the training right? Check. You’re at your command now and gaining the experience now right? Check. All you need is your college education if you don’t have it and some fucking motivation guy. I don’t have the best orders but you know something I come to work everyday and assert my dominance and acknowledge my capabilities. I’m confident in myself and proud of my achievements, both you and I have more courage to serve than the rest of the population in the United States. Do not fucking regret anything in life. What’s done is done. Move on, get your quals at your command make rank, show leadership even as a junior sailor and be an alpha male. Hooyah shipmate!

    Join the Navy Reserves. Best part time job, nothing like the active Navy. And you still get a pension and health insurance when you turn 60.

      @@bryanbaluyot6722 I feel you. I felt the same way when I joined. It was lonely at first until I made friends. It does get better once you start to met people on the ship. Try to explore Florida and don’t stay in the house. What part of Florida are you going too?
