Very down to earth. Ricky is the man.
you never know when he's kidding or being serious. that's awesome. this is what entertaiment should be: to entertain and be questioned. this is what keeps a person's attention.
I find Ricky intelligent, beautiful, very endearing and quite hilarious.

I am so attracted to this guy. He is a comical genius and there is nothing sexier than humor and confidence. I love his face, hair, eyes and his serious looks scare me just a little. I would love to get to know him. He is taken and all settled. but can someone please set me up for a meet and greet?
One of the best/funniest films ever is Life of Brian which pokes fun at religion. Gervais analysing the book of Genesis in 'Animals' show is genius. Plus check out american George Carlin amazing stand-up routines about 'the man who lives in the sky'.
I love sarcasm and Gervais with his English accent is awesome! Hope he starts another show soon. Extras was great and I understand his point about not producing too long....

We resent others who are successful. I don't know why. It's ingrained deep into our culture. Can't speak for america as I've never been or stayed there for a period of time.

It's funny he mentions Brad Pitt. Recently I had a discussion with a friend if you had to choose between Pitt or Ricky Gervais to go out on a date.Probably I am in a minority, but I would definitely go for Ricky. He may not be a classic beauty (altough I do not find Brad Pitt attractive either), but when I go out on a date, I defnitely want to laugh and in interviews Gervais seems like a very nice and smart guy as well.

Half of what makes Ricky Gervais so funny to me is his laugh. He's able to make even the most mundane comment seem hilarious because his laugh and playful mannerisms are so infectious.

It is correct to say who would fire whom.
Who refers to the subject of the sentence and whom refers to the object of the sentence. Who and who is incorrect for the grammar police :-)

Bit of a generalisation there! Most British comedies do more than 2 seasons from my experience. Peep Show is onto about 6 now!

Sorry to return to this after so long, but somewhow I overlooked your response. What you have described as race and race-related is of course correct, but that is essentially an ethnographic understanding of race that stemmed from 19th c. physical anthropology etc. In late 20th c. usage especially following from post colonial studies it covers a larger ground including nationality, ethnicity and culture. Not trying to be a know-all though.

Well I can see where you're coming from and while I'm a big fan of almost everything he does (TV work, stand-up, podcasts, films) I appreciate that it would be very hard for any one thing that he does from now to live up to The Office and Extras. Having said that, there's quite a difference between what you described and calling him a "cunt". And having said THAT... he doesn't need someone like me to back him up, so I'll shut my face

He is a comedian. Of course he is going to exaggerate things a little bit making it funnier. He is just pointing out the cultural differences in the context of how the people in the Office US and the Office UK is different. Lighten up.
Any time RG has an interview with any sort of american media, he loves to put down england but when he's in england he's saying he loves england. Make your mind up.

@isg1997 What do you mean exactly when you say that there is a difference between race and racist? "Racist" is the belief that a certain race is inherently less superior or capable. Isn't the categorization of 'race' generally determined by phenotypic differences? Facial structure, hair, skin color etc.? When you lump cultural differences in there, the classifications seem capricious and subjective. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but since you say you have a PhD, maybe you could explain.
