congrats Stephen you managed to freak him out, that’s a first
Craig Ferguson disagrees .
it happened before?
That’s very specific way to die lol 😂
david blaine did.
He went from Stephen Colbert to Stephen King.
Stephen went dark...like way way darker than Gervais lol it took Ricky a few seconds to recover from that visual 😅😅😅
Ricky: i probably should give him my therapist's number... 😅
Ricky and his stupid fill the emptiness laughs.
sounds like Stephen thinks he'll die in a Saw movie.
jlbueno0611 that was so funny and unexpected
Léo Pold you...you just criticized someone laughing. that's like if someone yawned in an elevator next to you and you turned to them and casually started screaming: "LIAR!!! LIIAAARRR!!! YOU JUST YAWNED TO FILL A VOID OF LONELINESS AND SILENCE IN YOUR SOUL YOU'RE NOT ACTUALLY TIRED!! LIIIIIAARRRRR. LIIIIAAARRRRR!!!! FAKE FAKE FAKE PHONY PHONY!!!"
i mean...it's a laugh. un-tighten your asshole, dude.
1:57 Stephen just earned himself a writer's credit for the next Saw installment
YTWanderer theres already a saw trap that’s kind of similar to that called the cube
Stephen Colbert: don't test me on gruesome torturous ways to die, I'm Catholic
shyguymalta Good one
My thoughts exactly
Slowly dying over decades being crushed under ever-increasing heavier piles of Catholic guilt...
👏🏻
So is he? Check out his Catholic off with Jack White.
That was too oddly specific for him to have come up with it on the spot. You know that’s been on his mind for years.
All talk shows are scripted and rehearsed beforehand. Maybe not down to the letter but they know what questions are going to be asked.
Yes Daniel Murphy. And your comment will go down in the books with some of the greats.
It may simply be that he's recalling something he said, heard, wrote, or read before. The man's not a total imbecile.
@@TheTruthKiwi Nah, that’s genuinely been on his mind for years.
I've heard him say the mask idea before in other videos so I'd agree with that
Say what you want, Colbert's way of dying is creative and something straight out of Edgar Allan Poe's playbook. More original than dying in your sleep or getting hit by a car.
Exactly! It wasn't gory, just dark...
More like straight out of the Inquisition.
@@silverbat5873 dark? How? Sounds like a good way to go.
@@lumenpierce8583 You cannot be serious. A good way to go?
okay stephen don't flex. 😂 keep it light.
Even Gervais was like 'what' 2:09 😂
I watched the videos in the wrong order, but now I got the joke. 😂 Great timing
2:09 even Ricky Gervais, the one who LOVES talking about death, cringed after hearing Stephen's answer 🤣🤣🤣
does anyone know what that tune at 2:19 is?
@@putbye1 Chopin's Funeral March.
I never know if this is a new interview or an old one as he's always wearing a black t-shirt. Ricky if you read this at least have the date printed on the shirt so we know.
I think this comment made me laugh even louder than this interview !!
Excellent
@@danb7067 it was a joke based on the fact that Ricky is almost always wearing a black shirt, yet you decided to be a smartass.
Hes wearing black becuz wine stains dont show....
Stephen went from Colbert to King
*slow clap*
Genius you are.
Jesus Stephen - that went.... very deeply dark.
It is spelled Gsus. He was the seventh son of God after Asus, Bsus, Csus, Dsus, Esus and Fsus. For real. I heard a professor in life say so.
"Favorite dictator of all times"
"Julius Caesar"
That's a cop out...
Trump.
@@FU7IM7CANADIAN that’s my least favorite though
@@lumenpierce8583 What's your favourite? Mine is probably Gaddafi.
@Michael Kiely Stalin
@Im Michael they are better at being dictators
ricky gervais' face at 2:09 is probably everyones reaction😂
My new favorite line ever "What you got a mouse in your pocket what's this we". Can't wait to use that one! 🤣😂😅😆😁
it's from "of mice and men" (a book)
"You got a mouse in your pocket?" Now I know he's Southern.:)
I'm from Oklahoma and I've only heard "frog in your pocket".
Mice have teeth.
@@Jason918114 frog is the saying. Mouse is a meta
@@Jason918114 The mouse in the pocket refers to the novel ''Of mice and men''. In the book, Lenny keeps the corpse of a mouse in his pocket and refers to himself as ''we''.
@@vincentcournoyer5522 Thanks, I don't think I've ever heard this before, so I didn't understand what Stephen meant. I thought it was some kind of anti-English slander. Since Stephen probably visits the UK now and then, when you think about it one could argue that at some point his money eventually went to the BBC. That would be a stretch, but possible. BTW, we should support public television. It's quite good on several countries I know they have them (Germany, Brazil, the US, the UK, France... but not Italy - RAI is the devil).
it's not a coastal thing, it's a literary one. (I'm on the west coast and I have alway's said that when applicable).
"Keep it light."
I love when these two get together. Real stuff mixed with some funny. Best way to take it.
lol watch Ricky's lips from 0:05
Stephen keeps knocking this interviews out of the park, seriously Colbert is unstoppable
Well that escalated quickly. 😂
Alt Title: Stephen Stuns Everyone with the Most Insane Torture Method
Ricky is so awesome. His Netflix series After Life is so amazing. Funny and meaningful. He’s one of the great comedians and people of our time.
I think it's a bit grim
And Derek was RUBBISH
Stephen...that was shit dark! I did not even see that coming. Even Ricky was taken aback for a second! 😲
Stephen description felt like waterboarding to me...😱😱🤔😂😢...
@@tasnimtrisha2 I know right? I actually felt suffocated just listening to it 😓
@@sharathvasistha8925 ha ha 😂😂. Me too...
I really like dark Colbert moreso than positive late night Colbert. I think the Trump administration has broken him, and he's kind of at his funniest when he's being weird and dark.
@@bryguy5622 our funny man has been broken since he was a little boy... Comedy is what keeps him from falling apart
WTF Stephen’s imagination is so dark
Edgar Allan Poe
@Black Rod i like that all it takes for some people to say this about you, is like one dark(ish) scene from someone's imagination. Saw had more disturbing imagery. Hell i bet half the people commenting on this video have had dreams that would make Colberts water torture helmet look like a refreshing hat
Just start thinking spines and screwdrivers... tendons and rusty razors. Salt... all the salt. Do a shit in someones open wound then try to dig it all out with your teeth. Make a coin sized hole and slowly tug someones intestines through it. Make a stew out of tumors and feed it to a baby. Fuck i, put Coriander in it. Theres literally no limit to how fucked up your imagination can get if you let it
Lieutenant Luxury wtf is wrong with you?
@@swine13 that's just random gruesome shit tho, not really dark. Stephen's was dark cos it's an actual fear he has, which he managed to illustrate well. Your stuff is a few lines of random gruesome stuff, like why dig the shit out with your teeth? No relatability or narrative. Granted, I agree with your point that there's no limit to a fked up imagination nd horror flick writers make careers with theirs.. Stephen's was chilling though, cos he wasnt trying to be dark, it was an authentic fear he's thought through.
@@jayt8124 exactly
Stephen says “Punic Wars” and then proceeds to quote the Gallic Wars (Caesar wasn’t alive during the Punic Wars).
Yeah, he tried to flex his intellectual muscles but farted while doing it
What was the quote, out of curiosity?
@@Kwijiboz 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Adam Kauffman - Good work! I read the Gallic Wars in English, so I don’t know what the Latin quote was. One of my favorite parts is when Caesar mentions Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo! I didn’t know they were real people until I read that. If I remember correctly, the Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo battle incident depicted in the series “Rome” was a pretty accurate depiction of a real event.
@@tobin340 It is the beginning of the Gallic wars where Caesar describes the land and the people. It starts with: "All of Gaul is divided into three parts" ("Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres").
Caesar then goes on to describe the parts and who lives in them: "one of which inhabit the Belgae , the Aquitani another, those who are called Celts in their own language and in ours Gauls, the third."
I hope I translated it correctly I only read it in German.
Stephens drowning mask death is brilliant!
Ricky never fails to be entertaining. His is one of the few celebrity interviews I am eager to watch.
Haha that was great. I never thought i'd see Ricky recoil in horror. Colbert's description was oddly specific.
Not sure what I just smoked but that went dark real quick 😯
How dare you leave us for two weeks Stephen?! :)
Stephen has the best answers for everything. Genius!
According to vsauce, Stephen Colbert imagines the scariest death possible.
I've never seen Ricky at a loss for words before 2:09
Every time Ricky comes on the show, they both seem to have a wonderful time talking to each other.
But we missed the most important question: Who is Ricky’s favorite dictator?
Thatcher
@@drmedwuast C'mon Thatcher was pretty good
I think he mentioned Pol Pot as his fav in one of his old stand up shows
Adolf Hitler. After Hitler no one in their right minds would name their kid Adolf. ☺
@@dawnrobbins5877 You don't see many Genghis Khan walking around as well
I feel like a little but of normality has returned with the return of Stephen, sighs... 😊💙
These two would definitely be on my list of Famous Dinner Party.
Btw, Stephen's answer was weirdly especific, specially if you keep in mind that Ricky is always thinking on creative and funny ways to die cause they are mostly bizarre but funny at the end, and yet, he seems creeped out by Stephen's answer LOL
I love these two together, great great duo
That was SO good!
Colbert should definitely be on Ricky's radio show, they have a great "opposites attract" chemistry. All this frank death talk really humanizes them and makes for compelling conversation.
THANK YOU!!!!
1:27 The Punic Wars? Caesar wrote about the Gallic Wars! But I'm gonna cut Stephen some slack because he quotes the first line in Latin.
Ricky’s laugh is so contagious😂
Colbert is the only one that can manage Ricky
that was extremely vivid!!!!
Wow that was great!
Colbert is always brilliant!
Mans a legend love him 🤣🤣😭
♥ Ricky Gervais😭
I love how Gervais does not give to 💩💩 and just does his thing🤣😂 Going to have to look him up on Pandora
Has Stephen been water boarded
Love this guy, jut love his mind and attitude!
that went *really* dark really quickly
these two are quite the duo
Love Ricky's laugh!! 😁😄😊
This is awesome
Ricky's face says it all hahaha
Love this guy!
2024 and I'm back to watch Stephen surprise Ricky with his darkness 😂😂😂
Love the Gervais! 😂😂😂😂
I wasn't going to watch this but I love Stephen so much more now
I'll listen 4 SURE:)
I love that they actually have a running gag between them on these interviews! "Keep it light!"
I love Ricky Gervais !
I love Ricky's laugh 😃
Ok actually being able to make ricky laugh so hard i think stephen was prepared for this😂😂😂this is easily his best interview
Stephen, that's effed up!
What an innovative way to make sure people stay hydrated
2:09 I understand Rickys reaction. Damn... 😁
Colbert is brilliant
"we are paying for it, aren't we?" - "Who is 'we'? Do you have a mouse in your pocket?"
I struggle with Colbert’s ear. I cannot stop looking at it.
Stephen, that’s a ‘Saw’ trap. An original ‘Saw’ death trap.
God damn I love British humor 😂
"You got a mouse in your pocket? I don't live over there." Bahahahaha
« Got a mouse in your pocket ? » 😂🤣🤣
Stephen raised the stakes and for ricky to be amazed, that says something😂
I love Ricky G!!!
Ricky Gervais is our national treasure 😍
Keep it light! Keep it light! Keep it light! Keep it light! Keep it light!
I cried from laughter
Such a love and hate vibe between those two like I hate but damn you're quick…
Caesar answer was genius. The FIRSt “technical” dictator.
I am a HUGE Ricky fan and I have NEVER seen him make that face before! 2:09 well done Stephen
i gotta check out this pandora thing : >
I ♥️ Ricky.
00:29 That laugh! :D
colbert and gervais chemistry is fantastic. reminds me of ricky's chemistry with david letterman.
These two should go on the road together.
Ricky also said the no arms in a bucket on his sirius show but made it way funnier lol
2:09 lol a metaphor for life
Yo I love how witty and engaging Stephen is when he’s asked random questions on the fly. I could watch him be interviewed by people trying to stump the chump all day and just revel in his responses.
Julius Caesar wrote the Gallic Wars...
He probably just misspoke.
Colbert quotes the first lines from the Gallic wars, and as far as I know Caesar never wrote about the Punic wars
"How about you?" X3
When a great comedian interviews Ricky Gervais (also great ;D)
When Steven asked how about you he had no clue how to top that haha
Funny fact: Caesar never wrote anything called: The Punic Wars.
Reminds me of talk shows from the 1980s 😂
Unintentionally, these two created the greatest comedy duo ever put together.
OMG I have seen it all. Stephen Colbert beating Ricky Gervais at his own game, this is comedy history 😅😅😅
