Thank god it never got filmed, otherwise it would be sinkhole of gold comedy without the ability to stop watching it. And i am by no means jokeing when i say that.
Agree to disagree. That would remove the mystery. Makes it a much more passive experience. Using your imagination is half of the brilliance. That or the animation is preferable to just showing you
MC they mentioned the webcam on some of the old shows. “The webcam isn’t pointing at the air conditioning unit, is that because it’s more interesting than the show” Imagine if that footage suddenly emerged! 😮
@@Wagoo Ooh. No. I don't know things. That sounds awesome though. I'll have to screen shot your comment because I have the memory of a goldfish and I'm lazy. Thanks Wagoo! Good looking out bud.
Tip I learnt as a child: if you have no heating and you need to get dressed for school; pull your clothes under the covers and do as much as you can there, in the mean time the clothes will warm up too.
God, how I wish they did this sort of thing for the XFM Gervais shows. I know they mentioned the webcam a lot on that show, but that seems to have vanished, and anyway the quality probably wouldn't have been as good.
I love how Ricky jokingly mentioning the chicken and egg conundrum has sparked intense debate involving bluddy quantum physics - could only occur in a youtube comments section
i still do it, it is so annoying, you go through all the rigmarol of getting ready in the morning just to wake up and find you haven't made a start at all!!!
@thatsWhAtSHeSaidERIC Portal 2 = The cause of thousands of people ignoring Merchant's amazing career as a director, writer, actor, producer, and comedian. Along with his Bafta awards, being co-creator of shows like The Office, Extras, and the Ricky Grevais Show.
Im even worse, quite literally it was his role as wheatley that put me onto ricky, him and karl pilkington. I feel bad for having missed such comic wonder for so long, but who cares how I got there I am there now and im loving it.
We had thick plates of ice on the inside of our windows in the winter and so I used to go to bed with my school uniform on ready for the morning. I didn't think about splitting atoms but I was smart in other ways.
Evolution is driven by competition in an environment. Adaptability is the ability to survive a changing environment. These are two different opposing forces that pull a species between being specialised and general as it evolves. Survival of the fittest can be applied to both. Whether it is the fitness in a certain attribute: like display plumage in birds, or adaptability: like a rats omnivorous diet. The key to surviving as a species is usually in finding a balance between these two aspects.
I recall a video put of of Tim Minchin in which he lets a colleague know he is attracted to his wife, and in that clip he also states that his wife has an ideal out there similarly. I honestly believe we're all like that in a sense, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Joke or not, I completely understand your feelings on this. :)
Smerch voiced a videogame character called Wheatley. It's from Portal 2. Decent game, Steve is great as Wheatley. I find it funny that people get so peeved about Wheatley. Merchant himself states that he thinks his fans who say 'We knew him before Wheatley' are being kind of pedantic. Oh well =P
Ricky looks better without beard his face is more expressive and that's what made him his explanation of life's actions with expression it's just perfection the way he does it but with beard his his facial expression is 70% missing
@AngelHalf If it wasn't for Portal 2, I would've never known about Stephen, I would've never enjoyed his role as Wheatley more than any other video game comic relief in the history of ever, and I would've never perused his other work to see if it was just that particular thing, and I never would've been proved wrong. I'm a huge Merchant fan now, of all his work, and I feel cheated that all I've ever seen before of this duo before then is of Gervais.
god i would pay good money for the xfm shows filmed in this way.
I know!!!!!
got a time machine?

Just love Stephen’s gentle mischievous demeanor
i love how when ricky is making up that story about stephen screaming in the elevator, he just casually says under his breath "i got a punctured lung"
isn't it funny that Ricky and Stephen basically control this interview
"I'd have been HUGELY popular amongst that lot." - highlight of the entire video. Ricky almost dies.
Merchants self-deprecation is legendary 😅
He really does look like a nazi. I mean why do you think he was cast in jojo rabbit?
They need to do more XFM shows and podcasting. Best radio ever.
Hilarious seeing them on Simon Mayo's show after the mountainous amount of shit-talking they did about Mayo in their XFM show.
Yeah, in some Amsterdam torture garden. With 10 hairy blokes with beards, jizzing on him.
They're only there to plagiarise from the brainbox that is Mayo.
“You’re just like your little magpie aren’t you? Thieving shiny ideas from Mayo’s nest.”
'blind ones." just.. comedy gold. they should be back on radio.
Who knew my favorite radio interview already happened, way back in 2008?? Sweet.
Have you listened to the XFM shows? They're like this but better.. "Man Moth" channel has them all
@@Wagoo Ooh. No. I don't know things. That sounds awesome though. I'll have to screen shot your comment because I have the memory of a goldfish and I'm lazy.
Thanks Wagoo! Good looking out bud.
Ricky's answer about string theory had me laughing so much it hurt.
Two fohakles and a strumpet.
ricky gervais looks like an old lesbian :)
Play A record!
I hate to say it but , but fuck!!!! your right
He's done you again!!!
Hope Ⓥ Justice when did he say that?
One of the old XFM episodes where he phoned in. (: Can't remember which.
I’ve watched less than 2 and a half minutes and already my brain is filling in what Karl would say.
"I can solve all their problems!"
Ricky is awesome
The quimbles 😂

i love the girl in the control room who keeps creasing
His answer to the x factor question is class!
Merchant is just so much funnier. Can't even describe why it's just the way he says everything and like speaks aha
Stephen is much better at satirical comedy, he is also much wittier than Ricky, I agree with you; Stephen is much funnier than Ricky.
It's obviously his content and jokes too, but his voice/accent/tonality is also very sharp/funny/witty.
No way.
Karl
Ricky
Steven for me. Feel like he doesn’t enjoy it as much as Ricky at times
Comedy timing is the phrase you're looking for ;)
Oswald Mosley yeah it’s clear from all the shows he made without merchant that merchant tempered RG’s excesses.
Ich bein ist gruber das Ricky unt Stephen uber ist vunderbar.
I would just love to see the expression on his face as he hears these questions, and Gervais' responses.
"Like a little cat"
stephen is so adorable
Well done to the geezer who emailed the question about the falling lift.
What a genius Ricky!
The both bounce of each other (no pun) so well
Ricky going on like he was born in Tudor times😂
i love his face after he sys quimbles!
God, how I wish they did this sort of thing for the XFM Gervais shows. I know they mentioned the webcam a lot on that show, but that seems to have vanished, and anyway the quality probably wouldn't have been as good.
It only updated every 30 seconds as well.
Never played portal 2 and i love stephen merchant's work,,,How you can not have heard of him before then seems crazy to me.
Love rickys laugh
Knowledge sharing... brillliant.
always nice, now and then, come see this vid.
Hahahaha, I love the whole elevator story where Ricky supposedly got "a punctured lung".
Well done Simon for the CBE!
6:38-6:46! LOVE IT! These guys are the best!!
I love how Ricky jokingly mentioning the chicken and egg conundrum has sparked intense debate involving bluddy quantum physics - could only occur in a youtube comments section
They need Karls knowledge on these subjects.
Hywel Lougher exactly
Didn't Karl major in Quimbleosity?
Well he went to the GCSE test for it. Didn't sign up beforehand sadly. Never got his results.
I'd certainly like their relationship to evolve into one where Ricky can shut up for a moment and let Stephen talk.
Ten years and only 5 likes (other than my sixth like)... Criminal.
Steve doesn't feel the need to talk as much, hence why he doesn't. He's his best when he interjects withlittle quips that make ricky lose it.
"its all about the quimbles" XD hahaa
2 faharkels and a strumpet, fucking genius.
Quimbles! Brilliant
If it wasn't for Portal 2. Lots of people wouldn't of even heard of him.
i still do it, it is so annoying, you go through all the rigmarol of getting ready in the morning just to wake up and find you haven't made a start at all!!!
lol @ quimbel. The min d of the man who created Flanimals. Genius! I love these 2 guys.
Gervais , Merchant and mayo = excellent
They put two orange and blue gel microphones right there

haha ricky is so quick. intelligent man
look on mayos face=priceless
I came to that conclusion about the egg when I was 9.
That killed me when I first heard that, so funny :O)
"Blind ones!" A little recall to Bottom, there.
hahahaha Wheatley, what an awsome accent.
He should've put the ol' Merchant charm to use
Let's be honest, we all got a ruler out 😂
We had thick plates of ice on the inside of our windows in the winter and so I used to go to bed with my school uniform on ready for the morning.
I didn't think about splitting atoms but I was smart in other ways.
"Qwuimbles.." *DIES* XD!!
Haha! Must've been hitting that testerone again! (;
Steve is soooo cute!
Quimble Magic hahahaha...Covalency !!! ricky gervais is genius

4:08 quick as lightning ricky haha
I’m only 30 but I can totally relate to that freezing cold moment of putting on your clothes on a winters morning.
yes! finally someone who agrees exactly with my opinions on the chicken egg situation! and i've been laughed at for my views, cheers to gervais!
4:07 "Quimbles"!
A Bromwell High reference. The failed animation? Stephan was a voice actor in that and he didn't pick that up lol
“Quimbles.”
*dies*
I wish they'd do their XFM show again
And a strumpet.
i've always said the egg came first for the very same rerason, glad its not just me! :)
@Emerald1234S EXACTLY, EXACTLY.
In the lifespan of a hen it obviously is an egg first.
Worried about splitting an atom at five, funniest joke he told in this clip
anyone know how to get the full version?
wow ricky gervais im pressed me he knows a decent amount about physics
He is quite intelligent, most of what he's saying is good.
Also, the two things you stated do not contradict each other.
two veghakles and a strumpit
Ricky definitely wears the trousers in his and Steve's relationship, which is a shame because Steve often comes out with wittier comments.
4:05 Rickys face!
Perhaps you can share what you know about Ireland?
He should of asked if he was was pissed off by Karl ripping off Rockbusters :D
@thatsWhAtSHeSaidERIC Blue and Orange microphones? Hmm sounds familiar....
is there any more of this?
in all honesty i think ricky's just showing off =P
its incredibly interesting to listen to
this for me proves how intelligent ricky actually is =)
ricky g is a smart guy.

Cant stop laughing about quimble magic
Well T can be a time, or period, or kinetic energy. So Q could be Quimbles too.
stephen merchant is why i bought the game rather than borrowed it
@johntkooz simon mayo. a legend of the airwaves
ricky looks just like David Brent from the office
