I guess the mood come from the tragic movie this original soundtrack was made for, movie is called "Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo"? It is worth watching and remember that is was made about the situation 40-50 years ago - but still easy to relate to today (and see how we failed to react to the warning signs).

Dave really loved Bowie and this tribute brings tears to my eyes. Vince Clarke heard Dave singing "Heroes" and that was how he ended up the lead singer of the group, so this has a double meaning and that makes this more powerful. Also, Martin has had that guitar for almost half his life. That means a lot.
Although this was doubtless a sincere and heartfelt tribute it can't disguise the fact that it is also tepid and lightweight. The best thing I can say about it is that it is not quite as awful as Oasis' cover.

Seeing Dave, Martin and the band perform this brilliant Bowie song brought tears to my ears...thinking of the old DM days when we almost lost Dave to od's seeing him in total equilibrium with Martin here doing Heroes is mind blowing...luv luv luv to you for being here still today
It's crazy to think that David Gahan was only called into what would then be Depeche Mode because Vince heard him singing Heroes, Depeche Mode only exists as we know it because Bowie he saw Tony Visconti kiss his lover in front of the Berlin Wall and that inspired him to compose Heroes.

Absolutely right. That passage has all of Gahan's control and passion. Unique.
Pure musical art, vocally and in the guitar playing. Grabbing, harrowing, soothing and inspirationaly moving all art the same time. How truly more wonderful could you get.
I agree Dave's voice is brilliant ,never better
He covers HEROES wonderfully David Bowie would approve
This is an arrangement I could imagine DB having somehow arrived at and performed himself. I bet he would have loved this. Beautifully done!
I can honestly say Depeche Mode is my all time favorite band that I have been enjoying since 1983 and seeing in concert since 1986.
But I digress, I love these videos where David and Martin show their range! And hats off to David Bowie who is one of the worlds recognized
all time best.
Maybe this will finally give Depeche Mode a well deserved spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame?
I love everything Depeche touches. I normally do not care for covers, but this band is phenomenal.
Услышав Вас ,я поняла ,в этом мире не всё потеряно!Ребята Вы супер как идвадцать лет тому назад!
This really honors Bowie. It's incredible.
Not too shabby, with a lil' twist of Dave's voice... nice!
Magui Ulli yes he would think 💭 it was something
This is the first ever time I heard this song, even I love Depeche at least 25 years.. I love it. It’s heavenly ❤️🎆
Super děkuju za odpověď na hero.
Very, very much agreed.
El mejor cover de este temazo de D.Bowie, gracias depeche mode por existir son lo más maravilloso de esta orbe.
Mr Bowie would have been proud of it! Love you guys you are the best band in the universe (even if there's life on Mars)
Очень красиво проникает в моё сердце, тёплыми волнами голос Дейва❤️❤️❤️ 🤗 Гитара восхитительна🤗 Так тепло льётся музыка по моей душе😌
Просто поэзия!
Seeing Dave, Martin and the band perform this brilliant Bowie song brought tears to my ears...thinking of the old DM days when we almost lost Dave to od's seeing him in total equilibrium with Martin here doing Heroes is mind blowing...luv luv luv to you for being here still today
cdb8 Right On!
What a beautiful cover. You can hear the passion in Dave's voice. Bowie would be so proud!
Since I discovered this song I cannot stop listening. What the heck I can do when I love Depeche Mode and David Bowie? DELICIOUS.
