You're a life saver! I was about to give up on finding a video to show the disassembly to the throttle body on the 2.4l model thanks so so much for your efforts and skill will be a lifetime follower !!
yu have now clue how this video just save me $450.00! the total estimate for the dealership to do it was 667.00. also thank you for telling your listeners what sockets and torque but you used
Hey just did a throttle body clean. Removed and cleaned put back and omg my car starts perfect now and no drop in idle when coming to a stop thank you so much!! Thanks God for that flex head wrench advise 🙏 .
What was the symptoms with yours? Mine it is hard to crank but eventually does with Service Throttle body alert. Next time I went to start it will not even turn over just attempt.
If I remember correctly, mine was that even with a new battery, it was still cranking and not starting. I recommend getting a good battery tester to test the battery because a bad battery can also cause the same issue before swapping out the tps. I have a friend that had the same issue on a Dodge Dart and even though the Auto zone battery tester said the battery was good, a better battery tester determined it was bad and it fixed their issue.
@@ufixitauto5237 Thanks. Mine was not even cranking after the first failed attempt. A new AGM Battery fixed the issue. When these batteries go they throw weird errors with these Chryslers so that is what fooled me a bit.
My car isn't giving me any codes related to the throttle but bucks when trying to accelerate. It also sometimes stalls at stops or when slowing down and turning. Once in a while the red throttle light with the lightning bolt flashes and i can't go over a couple miles an hour. After that is with i get a code. I've replaced the battery, the air filter, and spark plugs. I'm thinking of trying this
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200, it has no power at all and every time we try jumping it the car horn goes off. Any thoughts? (It was working before I traveled for Thanksgiving)
I personally didn't have any issues. It's almost like the car relearned the throttle position sensor. I have heard about car going into limp mode if the car didn't successfully relearn the throttle position sensor and I was fully prepared to go to a dealership to have them plug in their computer and I would have at least saved money on this install 😂 but luckily I didn't have that issue.
I just tried to replace mine. I couldn’t get the last bolt out on the bottom. I got a 13mm flex and I still couldn’t get it to come off. Wish I knew how you angled yours in to get it off.
Video was great but do you have to calibrate the throttle body after you put it in ? I got a 2015 crystal 200c the guys was telling me that’s why I have to have a mechanic fix it

Hey Man, So my Chrysler 200 2015 has a low oil pressure pop out some times then also the etc right after and I have to pull over and restart it goes away for the day or sometimes a couple hours or sometimes a couple days. What does this mean? Should I change my throttle
Low oil pressure is usually caused by low oil in the engine, dirty oil filter, dirty oil, bad oil pump or a bad oil pressure sending unit. Typically those are the things you look at haha. No Way to know for sure unless you go diagnosing! Good luck!
will this always produce a engine light?? i dont have the light yet but i have the engine hesitation already and i just replaced my gas sensor and new spark plugs
I will say most of the time yes. There could be so many things in these modern engines that cause engine hesitation that its hard to pinpoint the issue. If you have an automotive scanner, I would plug it in and make sure all the major sensors are operating the way they should. If not, then it's time to start cleaning some components before replacing them I would say. But that's all my opinion!
@@ufixitauto5237 I have a Chrysler 200 I have had in multiple shops and was told I needed a new engine then I needed a wiring harness then I needed something else. There isn’t anything else a mechanic says is wrong with it
Mine went in without needing programming. Some people tell me I got lucky, other say they didn't need programming either. I would go into it fully expecting to need programming and if you get lucky, you get lucky 🤷♂️
Question, I have this car. Mine will crank for a few times and it will turn off. I have to try a few times with my foot on the gas pedal then it will go on. Is this the reason why I'm having this issue?? Please reply thank you
That's tough, it could be a lot of things. Could be not getting enough fuel, enough air, could be electrical or it could be a weak battery. I would say the number 1 issue I had with this car was the battery. When it starts getting old and weak, a lot of things went wrong and I fixed it with a new battery, but obviously without properly diagnosing, I won't be able to pinpoint your issue haha.
@@ufixitauto5237 I have gas, tried to jump it. The battery is good, there's no codes. The dash says "remote start disabled, system fail". I thought my anti theft locked or something. Weird
It doesn't. I have the check engine light on and the red lightning bolt. If I try to start it, it seems like its gonna turn un but then it just turns off
Gaskets are so cheap that I always recommend replacing them IF you get OEM or quality like Fel Pro. It's just a preventative maintenance item like O rings and crush washers. I will always recommend replacing them.
Great questions! :) I reused the old gasket, the new one supplied did not fit quite right. I called my local Mopar dealership and they said these don't require relearn. Those are primarily on the GM crankshaft position sensors. Don't know how true that is, but I have not had an issue since! Its being daily driven and hasn't acted up since. But of course if you experience overrevving or want to take the precautions to do a relearn, then by all means do it! Scanner is the easiest method if you take it in to a shop if you don't have one or if you want take the steps to do the relearn without a scanner, you just turn off all car accessories and cruise at 55 for 5 min, then decelerate to 45 min for a min and then go through the usual 4 deceleration cycles :) cheers! 🍻
My car cranks but don't star ,now it does sometimes but sometimes it doest and when it starts it works normal but then again some times is just won't star. I have change fuel pump , I jectors and also I m getting codes 02 sensors all 4 but nothing about the mass airflow
Have you tried swapping the battery? I spoke to the dealership when sending it in for a recall and they said that these cars are so sensitive to a bad battery that they get trade ins all the time where the customer thinks there's something wrong with the car but the issue was as simple as the battery. If you haven't yet, try that. If you have tried that, what kind of symptoms does it show when it doesn't start? Also, if you're getting codes for the o2 sensors, have you tried new o2 sensors?
Good question haha. I think someone commented that he was quoted a labor charge of 450 along with the part. Hourly prices vary per mechanic and experience the mechanic has for that specific job determines how much time they take to do that job.

Please advise : job is IMPOSSIBLE without 13 mm flex head ratcheting wrench. Just tried with a normal wrench.
Def not impossible Done mine with a normal ratchet wrench just didn’t have as much leverage so that’s why I used ratchet wrench .
Will it be the same fixture for a 2015? Did it show a sign of the engine overheating? Did you have to relearn the pedal?
Can you make another view service airbag system on chrysler 200 2016. How to unplug under the seat?

Sounds like a bad battery. Car horn going off is normal when jumping a car. Its part of the security.

Exactly the same problem I’m having and no one has any solutions and if they do they’re not sharing them
Take off the windshield cowl that should give you enough room to get you a better angle. A little more work but gotta get it fixed.
What size is the bolt that holds the angle bracket on the throttle body. I dropped it when I pulled it out
13mm
I’m not sure if it’s my pedal sensor or this throttle body that’s giving me problems
