Ref just save him to get KO cold in the middle of the ring he's start catch the left hook of trinidad clear like Zulu do it was just matter of time just thanks the ref for a latte brain damage
The referee did the right thing, Rey was getting a beat up, and was going to get knock out in that round or for sure in the next round Ray was taking too many too hard punches 👊....

Felix was obviously going to win as levato began to tire and move less. Levato has a very good defensive movement that makes him hard to target but it wasn’t going to last. Trinidad was definitely coming on strong and landing hard punches but the fight was still stopped too early, potentially far too early.
Im with trinidad but the fight was not over ref should of never had stopped the fight however if the fight would have continued tito was about to sit his ass on the canvass no doubt bout that

Rey Lovato was a good fighter but he was more a Jr Walter 140 lb. then a Walter 147, plus he foght a Tito Trinidad in his prime, Tito was just to skillful and had very heavy hands just too much power...
Bobby should know that Tito usually takes a round to feel out an opponent. Second rounds are typically when he begins his assault. To say he needs to step it up in the first round. Is woefully a sign Bobby doesn't know anything about Tito. As for the fight itself, I certainly have seen fights go longer. The stoppage was way too early for a championship fight. Mitch Halpren should have let it go longer as Ray was doing well and winning. Certainly deserved another few minutes to be sure. Maybe Mitch had money on the fight. I am a Tito fan all the way and am sure he was going to win, but to win it without controversy. All this kind of fight does is add to the question of boxing's ties to corruption.

I am a Tito fan. Puertorrican and all. Your brother got robbed of the opportunity to compete and have a definite decision by a shady referee. As we saw in so many fights, when Tito hit that note, usually it was a matter of time. We'll never know "for sure", but one thing is certain, Ray fought valiantly and courageously. Mitch Halpern had some deep issues. May he rest in peace but this is as suspect as they come. No doubt Tito was already in search and destroy mode, this was as good as done, but, unless the guy was crossed-eyed or something... very suspect. Whatever Ray said did not merit any cred.. I've seen fighters wake up from being KOed claiming they "were OK" and "they should not stopped it". That's why they are the warriors they are.

The great Trinidad. You talk about a champion. Lovato fought a spirited fight and while the fight probably could've went longer, Halpern just thought Ray was a good guy and just didn't want to see him get hurt. It was starting to get pretty rough for him.
