People think law enforcement officers or state troopers need more schooling. No one understands they are coming from educated backgrounds or military service. Showing a basic run-down of what takes place across half a year for these men and women is enough to open peoples' eyes to see the message you're trying to portray, well done!
Not to mention how much it's drilled into you that you aren't an individual. You graduate the academy with a foundation and immediately start training again in the field. Then you're a rookie and typically expected to ask senior officers for guidance because new situations happen every day. Sterile environment of the classroom can only get you so far... that said, I think there should be a lot more defensive tactics training in how to control suspects without relying on tools, and that takes more than an hour every other day for 6 months (if you're lucky to even get that much).
Agreed-but keep in mind that the PA State Trooper Academy is *extremely* selective. You won’t get in without a 4-year college degree, and relevant experience is a big plus. The Academy is also longer than most police academies. As a result, the graduates of the Academy have a much better foundation for a law enforcement career, and even then they still have a year or more of training before moving beyond basic PA Trooper duties. So overall, PA Troopers have roughly 5-6 years of college-level studying behind them. That isn’t typically the case for large municipal and city police departments.

As someone that works with police and have done so for years, I only wish that officers in the United States were more extensively trained, more weapons training, more hand to hand combat training, and more de escalation training. With the average amount of training to become a police officer being 16 weeks in the United States, it’s not enough training. My good friend is going through the academy now, he was telling me how much weapons training they received, it’s shocking how low the amount of hours they put in. I had more than 50 hours of weapons training before I even owned any firearm of my own, and have continued training extensively since. It’s not fair to train future officers inadequately and then send them off into the most armed country on earth. In Norway for example it’s a 3 year training program to become and officer. Years of training are spent on training how to de escalate situations rather than days/ weeks of training. Why can’t our officers have that length of training? Officers in Norway don’t have to go through every traffic stop knowing that the person they are pulling over could be armed to the teeth. With that as the reality, why not train as much or more than Norway does? Personally I think police officers in the United States have one of the hardest jobs, and with inadequate training it makes the job significantly harder. Harder on the officers and harder on the communities that they are patrolling. But that’s just my opinion.
Great job gave me flash backs from when I went through the police academy 23years made me feel like I was back at day one keep up the great job showing the public what we go through to have an amazing job

I don't understand why they act like Marine Corps drill instructors. The yelling, the turn around games etc. I do understand the point of having people understand and be able to function under stress, but having a 7 month academy and training you future officers/ troopers to yell at people (because that's what happens when they are trained in that manner) doesn't suit well when speaking with the public! Their go to while under stress will be to yell at the suspect or individual, rather than speak calmly which aids in de-escalation. There's times where you MUST yell or shout to show your presence and "authority" but 98% of the time, you'll make more headway speaking politely and with empathy. The job is very dynamic and ever changing, I understand that. And the respect I have for our officers and the service they provide to our communities is appreciated so very much by me. I just feel that the screaming and yelling done on new recruits will only sent them back when they begin working on the road dealing with the community

Thank you 🙏🙏
These are by far my favorite videos to watch. I think that you would make a great state trooper if you ever wanted to be one. Awesome video. Keep up the good work!!
I know.. I love all law enforcements, the entire Military, & as well as the cost guard. Yes, farmers too. ❤️❤️
About time for this upload. Keep up the good work man! 👍
Love it! Try NJSP toughest academy in the US
That’s really good. I really appreciate you coming through and see how much work and effort goes into learning how to become a Law Enforcement Officer. #BackLawEnforcement
You are awesome! Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for your service. Can you do fdny possibly next? God bless America!
Just found you from Facebook. Thank you for your service and thank you for these videos. I have family in law enforcement and in military and it’s been a crazy time for them. I’m always praying for their safety.
Love ur vids I go back and wach the old ones every day
Thanks for this series , and more for sure , it shows your growth and improvement in situation you’re not or familiar with. Also continue to challenge yourself to push your limitation 👊
Awesome vid!!! Thanks for sharing, Alexander
Great series. I wish it was longer. Thank you
I will say I remember the EVOC course. Being told to speed and push cars off the road was hard like you said. You practice your whole life to not hit other cars, PIT breaks that mindset.
Thank you sir for serving our country and thank you for putting your life on the line for 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 America's thank you again if it wasn't for you we wouldn't be here today
What a amazing ending. Shows great character. !!!
I'm glad the PA State Troopers let you do this. Really awesome on their part. Also this is done better than and T.V. channel can do frfr.
Hey Austen thanks for the series deff now try doing the same but with a fire department, I am new to the channel and I subscribed made me think back of the police academy by watching these series. Thank you 🙏

Very great job! I definitely want to keep watching and learning from this channel.
This is by far the best thing I have seen on Facebook! We need to get you to do more of this as it does reveal to others and allows these cadets to look back in their patrol years why they joined and what they were going in about!
My dad has been in this academy for quite some time now until he got promoted to the headquarters so these three videos were super fun for me
As a lifelong native of the Hershey area, having driven past that exact police academy on the hill countless times, I am so honored that you chose to pursue this experience in my little old home state of Pennsylvania 😁😁
