- Autel Robotics Sky App supports Evo Nano, Evo Nano Plus, Evo Lite & Evo Lite Plus series.
Beginners guide through the basics of the Sky App. For the Lite there is a few extra features like night modes which may or may not become available for the Nano series. Important to note that some camera settings/features do not work unless you are in the air and flying first.

The app was buggy during this but I think it's good to show that it still disconnects on occasion and certain features show up one day while gone the next or work when you figure out the odd combination like waiting till you are in the air to be able to adjust the camera setting. This Nano has been a very interesting ride so far that's for sure!
I’m on the fence about keeping my Evo Lite+. Question though, is there a way to “factory reset” the drone? Is that necessary?? Thanks!!

While making my last nano + video I got disconnected from the video feed, could control
The drone and see the map and flight data but gray frozen video…had to land it and reboot it.

I worry what a first timer would do in this situation and it really bugs me that these manufacturers take this as it’s not a big deal it’s not happening to everyone.

@@QCGUY Will do. Hopefully it doesn’t brick on me when updating the firmware or flyaway and drop from the sky. I’d be better off taking a wad of cash and throwing it in the air and watching it fall back to the ground where I’m able to retrieve again. 😂
By the way, did you have to upgrade the firmware each time for each battery you inserted into the drone??... I’m confused about this.
@@DroneSyndrome yeah two updates now made me do each battery. That alone is like an additional 30 minutes.

Hopefully soon. I ordered the Lite + through Drone Works. I know they started shipping the Nanos last week and said the Lite would be shipping soon. Fingers crossed..this week.

Autel is still on the table, but I want to see what a rumored Mini 3 offers. Perhaps I will own both. I think that's what my old post said,...👌👍
If DJI pulls it off with this much packed into a quad I would stop there and wait for Nano V2.

Please clarify these:
1. In 21.24 min, you can adjust the EV, without changing the shutter? Can I set the shutter and the aperture (for Lite) in M mode and then switch to P mode and reduce the EV ?
2. You didn't tell anything about S mode...

All these modes are like a camera has on its dial. If you set something in M and then go to P it will change as auto does. S is shutter focused and not ignored just chose to keep this as simple as possible showing basics.
I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying that obstacle avoidance turns off in sport mode. It doesn't; the popup warning even says obstacle avoidance is invalid at speeds over 23mph (in my case), and the indicator turns orange not red. Red is off. It still functions when flying slower.
For mine it’s off…If I recall it shows the obstacles distance but it’s non functional. Sport mode is only an additional 2m/s so it’s ridiculous to even call it that anymore.

Thanks for this. Very helpful as I ponder whether or not to get this drone. Is there a histogram available for checking exposure levels?

Good explanation of the app there Chris. The Sky app sure is easier to navigate than the Explorer app is. Do you see much difference in the camera settings for the Lite vs. the Nano drones, especially the Lite+ with adjustable aperture?
It’s a little more advanced over the nano. Not much but has 3 night modes.
@@QCGUY it's such a shame that the evo nano series didn't even have super night and other night modes
@@Eclipse_Central Anything I contact them about they will not confirm that it will or will not have these features. They simply say they will talk to engineers and update. They never update….
Chris, I dont have "Pro" mode on my list of choices on Sky app. However I can switch over (manual/pro) via a tiny icon on the bottom right. Does this sound familiar at all? Thnx for any info.
Yes it’s changed now after some updates so what you have is correct 👍🏻
Thnx for the nice video. I have the App installed on an android cellular. I can't completely quit it, which bothers me. The only way to shut down the app completely is to force it to quit by android's option "force to quit". Is there a solution to this problem?

I updated my firmware just a week ago to 1.1.14 and I had zoom before and auto focus well now I don’t I have deleted the app and restarted it and it basically sucks now I noticed that you were on firmware 1.1.7 is there a way to go back to 1.1.7 autel is absolutely no help any ideas Chris
I asked them and got no reply. Emailed again to someone I spoke to in the past and he said a update is coming soon and we ask you to be patient and stay up to date snd thats basically all I got.
Chris, I have a Q: when I`m flying around with my Lite+ and try to bank left or right , the aircraft doesn`t tilt to one side or the other to make the turn, it just yaws and drifts. Am I doing something wrong or is that normal for the Lite+? thanks for any info.
That’s because you’re just using one stick to turn which also looks clumsy in the video. Use both sticks with a yaw and roll combo for the turn 👍🏻
Does this not have joystick sensitivity options?
Gimbal pitch speed and aircraft turn speed at the moment. On mine through iOS they are non-functional at the moment.
Hello dear friend! I watched your video reviews about Autel Evo Light+ with great interest. I have the same drone and I am currently mastering it)) I always have Pro mode on (bottom right, yellow symbol) and I can't switch to Auto. Please tell me how to switch from Pro mode to Auto? I would be very grateful!

how you liking the drone (the lite i know your thoughts on the nano :P)
So far I like it a lot. Autel doesn’t know how to program a quad to compensate for a little extra wind like DJI does but with the little extra power that the lite has its doable. Evo 2 is the same way so this is something you have to expect pretty much. The nano issue with the speed is a complete joke and I can’t understand anyone that doesn’t get offended by 2m/s more still being sold off as sport mode with Autel saying it’s 3m/s more which it’s not. Governed at 12m/s no matter how much wind is behind you.
It’s a matter of honesty and needing what was advertised if I get into a pinch which I have.
Does this drone controller charge your phone?
In many drones it shows on your phone as if it’s being charged and this has been misrepresented by many as actually charging your device when all it’s really doing is showing the charge status because it’s hooked up to something that is directional in sending and receiving information from an otg cable.

Focus on the issues with the sensors. That’s part of why you won’t see progress on features that require sensors.
@@QCGUY Are you having issues with your downward facing sensors not working? Or at least no indicator that they detect anything??
