I’m happy Autel is releasing good quality drones in various sizes and across various price points. It keeps DJI on its toes which can only be a good thing for the industry.
It means a lot to hear how happy you are with this Drone!!! Man those colors pop... and the night is so clear... and the yaw motion with no tilt!!! Damb I hope they can bring that to the E2P... love the fiber arms... that looks sweet... Great Job Autel!!
The first really good first look at the new Autel Lite series drones that were recently released and finally started shipping to people who pre-ordered. You answered a lot of questions I had about the Lite plus model, I wasn't aware that it didn't 10 bit color, or a LOG profile. But I happy to hear that it performed well for you, and that the camera is great. I might consider getting one the new Autel drones, but I'm going to study all the reviews first of all four models before making any decisions. Great job on this video, you got a good information out there.
Thanks bro great review and packed with great info :) No blah, blah just honest facts. That's why I like this channel so much, Happy New years brother, looking forward to another updated review on this drone.
I am writing it here, in the hope that Autel is watching your channel. I was ready to make the change from dji. The price difference (300-400 for lite + vs Air2S) would not be a big problem, since I would have variable aperture. BUT the lack of 10bit, and dlog, AT THIS PRICE LEVEL IS UNACCEPTABLE. Some companies seem to have the habit of shooting their feet with great success ...
I'm looking forward for the Nano + review. As for the Autel Lite + drone, I'm impressed with the built quality, flight and camera performance. I really do hope they can bring these changes to the Evo 2 Pro line.
I too was waiting for the Autel Evo Lite + camera performance. It's all fine and good with me , except, the controller, has no HDMI out, thus, no way to connect goggles to it AND, it is not certain yet that the Live Deck connects to it so, as much as i wanted this, I'm gonna have to pass, As a matter of fact, just yesterday, I spent my money on a A2S, that I can connect DJI goggles to it via the HDMI. Manufacturers should, make this option avalable from now on, IF they want to be able to capture a wider audience. With DJI's FPV introduction, lots of neophyte flyers, are now aware of FPV flying. FPV, even for recreational flyers, open a new and exciting world. You don't have to do acro, just enjoy the FPV view. Think about it, FPV flying, recreates what you would experience as a regular aircraft pilot. FPV give you the sensation of being there, in the cockpit, flying and looking about. I highly recommend it and think everyone ought to experience it.
I have enjoyed your reviews and videos since before the Evo 1 was released. I know from owning that drone for almost 4 years now thet add a lot of stuff via firmware and software updates. They have 19 versions of the Autel Explorer App listed in the history in the App store. This Evo Light + looks like a great drone and I look forward to your other videos and thoughts on the Autel drone. Only thing that could have made this video more entertaining would have been to have someone mention Waypoints and Mission planning too you and it would have been epic to see the rant! LOL thanks for all your work and enjoyable videos you put out.
Been wanting to buy my first drone and was waiting to see the reviews of the Evo Lite and Nano. I have nothing against DJI except they've pretty much had a monopoly on the market and I would like to support the competition. It takes time/money to build good products so those who have purchased Autel's drones in the past have really help support Autel's rise and I'm excited to buy one. If they could produce a 100% made in America version I would be willing to pay the premium but either way it's a great product. Now I just need to decide between the Nano and Evo Lite.
Looks great Ken , does it have waypoints ???!!!!! I kid I kid couldn’t resist ! Great video as always look forward to the footage and the Nano soon ! I have a plus on order from y’all :)
Found my passion for aerial photography with DJI. I don’t think I’ll be able to trust the others. I'm trying to keep an open mind and still watch this video.
What you said at 11:42 is alarming. I asked an Autel representative if it shoots 10 bit 422, and they said that it does. Yet when it's shipped, it doesn't... Perhaps in a firmware update or something like that it will receive it, but the Air 2S has 10 bit color for a similar price. If Autel doesn't change it... I'm not sure what I'll do. I really don't want to go back to DJI but I can't justify paying this much for a drone that doesn't shoot 10 bit color. I love my Evo 1 but I need to find a replacement soon. I hope Autel can figure this outand give it what it should have.
The new evo's look awesome, but that Evo1 for me is holding it's own. I don't fly as much as you, but bought 3 more batteries when Best Buy had them for $25. I'm waiting for the Nano review as I would like something smaller then our Monster Evo1.
@@floridaofiowaaerialsandpho1440 I don't blame you Randy. Not all, but most bought Autel because of the no restrictions. I would like a smaller drone however not making any purchases in the near feature. Happy New Year!
Nice video! Can you confirm if the mission modes that the Evo2 Pro has have been removed from the Evo Lite Plus? I read somewhere they weren't going to support missions? This is a bit of a deal breaker for me :(
Nice, quick review! Anxiously awaiting review of the Nano+ by a YT veteran. I need a new travel drone that can handle some wind and would prefer USB-C charging to avoid the bulky brick of the Air 2S.
Love the no BS of your talks, a little abrasiveness never killed anyone :) Shame about the lack of 10 bit, for many of us that makes this a no starter. I do wonder as time progresses if EVO will be forced to geofence like DJI. I have a feeling this is to prevent people from doing stupid stuff and an attempt to keep the drone business viable although it probably hurts DJI a bit. That's a nice gimbal cover there on your Air2s, I bought the same one, so much better than the original!
oh ! Poor Mark ! Nice no nonsense review. Too bad about the lack of 10bit. I would have expected that on the Nano but why? Are they keeping for use on the EVO Pro III ?
Thank you for your first impressions about this drone! For me no 10 Bit is not so good, because I like to color grade my shots. But low light performance seems to be very nice. Your low light shots looks definitely amazing.

Aside from form factor, 10-bit and interchangeable payloads, are there any major differences between the EVO Lite+ and EVO 2 PRO? Spec-wise, they seem almost identical. I have the EVO 2 PRO now, but the Lite+ seems to be capable of everything I need in a much smaller & lighter package. (I use it for photography and rarely shoot LOG when I do video)
My biggest problem with my Autel Evo II Pro is trying to switch camera settings in the air, (and of course horizon tilt). I can't go from stuff like aperture priority to manual and back without landing...still don't know why. I'll still take it any day, over a DJI product because of the geo-fencing. I often get height limited with my Phantom, more than what the FAA limits me to, even with their unlock. It would definitely be nice for Autel to finally get rid of some of their minor camera issues with a software update and if they could apply some of the things, that they have learned with this new one, to their old one, then more the better. Great information.
@@donaldmayfield9159 I wouldn't either, if I didn't live in a pile of overlapping controlled airspace. Their "Fly-Safe" system has taken control from me three times and just started landing. The last time, it finally realized that no, it wasn't in controlled airspace and gave me control back right before it landed on the other side of a muddy field. I don't care what anyone says, taking control from the pilot and just landing is dangerous. At worse, it should back up and await instructions.
@@girlstreak4880 I wait a while, before I buy anyone's product. Most of the early reviewers would rate a DJI turd with props as the best thing in the world. Hi Ken, just wondering where the 8-bit camera information on the Lite+ came from?....... Just finished watching the Maxwell Lee interview on Ken Heron's live show. Maxwell very briefly mentions bringing 10-bit to the Evo Nano+/Evo Lite series. I realize the Lite+ has a different camera but it seems an odd choice to have 10-bit color in the lesser models and not the Lite+.
@@OriginaldoBo There is hope then. We really need Autel to be successful and they seem to be on the right track so this would be a huge omission. The footage I have seen so far from the Lite+ is pretty amazing. It eliminates the excess magenta that was present in the EVO 2 Pro and gives out some really natural looking images. The low light capability appears to rival the Mavic 3 despite having a smaller sensor. Thank you for your honest opinions.
Great video & info! I am looking for a backup drone for my Mavic 2 Pro. I only need the following features: Great camera with Raw & AEB photos, and no geofencing. I only shoot real estate stills, no video. Any suggestions?
I’m happy Autel is releasing good quality drones in various sizes and across various price points. It keeps DJI on its toes which can only be a good thing for the industry.

Great....I've got the 6k pro, now I can get the junior model.
There is no options at this point for 10 bit, even on the site states 8 bit only. Can that change maybe… it’s a wait and see hence first impression
Good review buddy .. ''Interesting''
Great video & info! I am looking for a backup drone for my Mavic 2 Pro. I only need the following features: Great camera with Raw & AEB photos, and no geofencing. I only shoot real estate stills, no video. Any suggestions?
which color is better the orange or the gray I'm debating on getting one but not sure which color I should get.
