    Sand on the other side of the wheel....that way it is forcing your piece down onto the table...not pulling it away.

    How long does the epoxy last? Does it melt or deform because of the extreme temperature? Great video btw!

      Thanks for watching. I have never had one fail me. So far seems to last indefinitely.

    What do you use for the plastic to make the lure? Where do you order from or can use just use any plastic

  • @rachelashton7150
    @rachelashton7150 3 года назад +1

    What plastic are you using to melt down and make the lure?

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  3 года назад

      Plastisol. But you can use old lures as well. That’s how I started out.

    Big question how long does that one lure last you after use,( durability).

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  2 года назад +1

      Depends on the type plastisol you use and type of lure you are making. I can get 10 fish sometimes with my worms using the salt water formula.

    What size of PVC are you using and leader wire ?

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  3 года назад +1

      The size is determined by how big your lure is and it doesn’t matter about the leader wire. It’s only holding the lure in.

    What type of soft plastics did you use to pour into the mold.

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  2 года назад

      I use lurecraft. If you are just starting out and don’t want to invest in plastisol yet just melt any old lures you have lying around. Just remember to heat slowly.

    Will silicone work for the mold?

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately silicone will not work as I am showing right here. When I first started I used silicone and there are videos out there showing how to do that but I find you get a more detailed and easier releasing mold going with epoxy.

    Is that pvc pipe?
    Where did u find the corks?
    Thank u for this! My funds are limited so this should be easy to make… thank you!

    • @secondhandcanoe3736
      @secondhandcanoe3736  3 года назад +2

      Yes it is PVC and you can use whatever size you need to fit your lure. I got the corks at Hobby Lobby but Micheals has them too.

    • @secondhandcanoe3736

      You get a smoother gloss finish with epoxy. I started out doing silicone molds and was never satisfied with the finished product.

      No. I only use it to make fishing lures. If you were to use resin in it I would imagine that you would have to use a release agent.
