Almost like an engineer was doing this or something! LOL! Yes, a pro-tip video would be great!
Glad to see you make a mold for this one prior to using it.
Another great video and lure mate. The tip of the day for me was putting the clay in the fridge.. Thanks Franco! 👊
Happy to help!
Love this channel it is just knowledge everywhere in a simple and humble manner, thanks so much for sharing.
I appreciate that!
I'm forever fascinated watching you guys who make luers
Great video Franco, lots of good tips - I especially like the rice trick!
Would definitely want to see a pro-tips video which collects all that important nerdy stuff in one place!!
I used to cast a lot of lead in plaster molds and used marbles to make my alignment divots. Not so important for silicone but made aligning to mold halfs very positive and easy. Might try plaster molds for casting resin, they take details well and are quick, easy and cheap to make.
Cheers!
Thanks for the step by step on making resin reproductions of masters! Always enjoy your channel Franco! Keep up the awesome content! Tight Lines!
Thanks Lee, will do!
Love watching your craftmanship. Another great video Franco!!!
Thank you very much!
I like the tank test, but would enjoy a video using both salt water and freshwater in the tank to show us viewers the difference in buoyancy. Cause every time you drop a lure in the fresh water tank that is designed for salt water and it crashes to the bottom, I’m thinking no way in hell is this going to work as advertised...
I totally geek out on the science and math approach you use to make your lures. It is perhaps the single most reason I follow your channel. Please do the other video you suggested on figuring mass and buoyancy. But do two identical lures, one for saltwater and one for freshwater. I really think that approach would hit home more for your viewers. Since the only saltwater I ever see is when I have a sore throat and gargle with the darn stuff.
Big fan from Edgewood, Illinois.
Put a little lime in that salt water gargle, according to my granny it cures everything. Thanks for the idea, I think I'll include the salt vs freshwater stuff in the weight and balance video.
Great video loads of info in there 👍 and yes yes yes a pro tip video on weighting would be awesome Franco
Noted! Thank you.
I'm will definitely be trying the rice trick out. Thanks for the tips and advice. Awesome video
No problem!! Thanks
Greetings from Norway! You’re doing an amazing job with these videos! Big inspiration to me personally! I love how you have setup these videos, educational and fun to watch!
I almost finished building my lure turner and soon I’ll airbrush my first lure! Keep your videos coming and I’ll keep on watching! 🤩👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much and good luck.
Excellent video. I like how you did the wire harness
Great job. Brilliant technique's. I learned much more from him. Thanks
A clear, concise and thorough explanation - very interesting and informative - thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video. And, yes a pro-tip video would be most appreciated!
Noted!
Sooner or later you'll catch a fish while you test cast a new lure.
I'm glad I found your channel, I've already learned a lot about how to create some lures I have ideas for.
Welcome aboard! And thank you.
What a perfect informative video! And you made it easy to understand. Great work my friend
Glad it was helpful!
Love your content, thank you!
Glad you enjoy it!
Definitely Yes on the pro-tip video
Yes sir! A master class on weight, density, etc would be fabulous 🤙
Although… I would watch whatever you want to make. The info is always extremely useful!
Cool, thanks
Good video. Yes, I would like to see a video on the density calculations. Make to pro-tip video. Liked that worst day fishing trip. Been their many times. Took my wife with me fishing one time - she thinks the fish finder is just a video game which tricks fishermen.
I think she has things worked out.
This channel deserve so much more views and subs
Thank you...I have to agree😊
I've finally gotten to the point where I'd actually like to reproduce some (let's say three) of my many handmade lures but the challenge as always here in Indonesia is finding the materials. Everything seems to be twenty years behind. Very frustrating but hey, I live in Bali so there's that as compensation.
You are on an epic level, great video ++
Wow, thanks!
Great video!!!!
Thanks!!
great tips! thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Like you to do a full set up on Poly Mold - Resin Cast a Fish Decoy for Spearing . Its the weighting in the resin with fin cuts Fish decoys are out of White Cedar or Pine
I have made several videos showing how to make the mold and cast the lures, please review my videos.
Love your channel. I've been making lures for close to 20 years now. I make them out of cedar and really want to make a mold and switch to resin. My question is, how would I go about figuring out the amount of micro beads to add to the resin mix to get a buoyancy like cedar. Any tips would be awesome. Thanks
Love the technical videos for weight placement etc. Would make a good reference video to go back to
Franko.....lol! This is perseverance my friend....nice!
You got that right!
Master !!
Would greatly appreciate a video on weight and balance, solving for the variables! Thanks!
Noted!
Awesome video today
Glad you enjoyed it
I would like to see the lure builder video you referred to.
Yes! Mr White! Science! (And, math!)
And 🎣👍
i would love to see a video on volume, weight, and all that stuff around.
Couldn't subscribe gast enough!
Thanks
Very nice
Thanks
Hey Francisco, would you be willing to make a video showing the mechanics of a Jitterbug topwater lure? I made one that just wants to surf with no walking and various iterations of it haven't produced results. Love you're video, I've learned a lot. Keep it up! Thank you!
I made a video and it will post on Friday.
What a great tutorial.... Thanks.... Where did you get the pliers and jig you used to make the wire insert? Also what kind of wire? Thanks again for a great video and your time!
Thank you. The tools and materials I use can be found on my Amazon store. The wire harness jig is something I made. You can find the video in the "lure tools" playlist. Cheers.
I just started watching your channel. How would you build a mold that is like a flatfish but I want to add feathers on the lateral line?
Great content keep up the good work……
Thanks, will do!
Восхищаюсь вашими знаниями и умениями!
К сожелению не владею английским языком, что бы понять вашу беседу😢.
ну все равно спасибо за просмотр.
great as everytime. i just would try to get it level during the sinking, with enough weight you get a nice flutteraction, that slows down the sinking and catches without doing anthing. than you could try to place one weight in the center or two at the ends,to find out what action fits better to the lure, the fisches or your fischingstyle. or get one lure for different uses. i would love to play with it, but no fish for that stile and size of lure arround here
How does your wood master weigh compared to the resin copy weight
I commented a few weeks ago about the about the EA merchandise. You said you added the link to your video but I still do not see it. Am I missing it some how. love your videos.
The platform screwed up the link and has since fixed it. You can see the "merch shelf" below the video but here's a link. ruclips.net/channel/UCS9izgLp6k7siMTMU21ZoNwstore
Let me know what items you think would be of interest that you don't see there...I'm looking for any tips.
If you want to make silicon mold for 20 cm needle lure, which in front is diameter arround 7mm,and at the back is diameter around 20mm, how would you make hole for casting,at the thicker,or thinner part, and would You maybe make 2 holes for pouring cast material, one at the front first third of lure lenght, and other at the back third of the lure lenght. And where You think is the best to position holes for ventilating air inside mold to avoid bubles.Would You tilt master lure at 140,150, or 160 degrees in mold or make it horizontaly at 180 degrees( no tilt at all).I am asking this because to avoid bubles, and to achieve better cast,to fill the hole casting cavity perfect. Keep up the good work.
I like thus question. I will answer it in depth on the next video.
regarding a video dedicated to weight/balance et al.... yes please!
Awesome ! Where do u get the rattle chambers?
I make then
great info. I just recently made my first mold for making a spook (walk the dog) lure. I'm still trying some different things to get the weighting and rattle correct. They swim well but some trend to helicopter when casting. I didnt think to make some venting holes, is this something i can add afterward? I'm not sure how much it has hurt the casting,
Absolutely...you can add the vents as you find a need.
interesting ideas, what is the wire former twister you use for the front and rear eye ends ?
its called TwistTech but I don't think its sold anymore.
👍👍
Do you add the rice to the mixed silicone? Is that to take up space to save on silicone or does it serve another purpose. Excellent video. What is that device you used to make the hook eyes/wire harness called and where can I pick one up?
It's called a Twistech, they're still available online but hard to find.
I understand that we don't need to use a vac chamber or pressure pot to get rid of the bubbles. But can I use a heat gun or hair blow dryer and lightly and briefly pass warm air against the mold material to help pop the bubbles?
Yes...I use a hair dryer.
When you calculate your density and get the weight for what you need to get it to sink. What water temps do you go off of? In 37 degree water a lure will sink differently then 80 degree water.
The change in specific gravity or water from just above freezing to just below boiling is about 0.04 grams/ml. Not enough to worry about. Excelent question though.... thanks.
Great tutorial, wire did you make the harness out of?
.026 inch dia leader wire
@@EngineeredAnglerThanks!
Thank you for that.
Q. If your choice of lure is a small bib type, will this method work for them too?
Yes, especially if you're copying a commercial lure. Commercial lures have thicker and tougher bibs and can be molded from resin to problem. If you're making your own lures you need to use a slightly thicker bib.
Great !
Thanks again👍
Pay the man comment
Hey. Great video 🥰. Are u using polyster resin or epoxy resin?
The casting resin is polyester.
@@EngineeredAngler thank you for your reply. Love from India ❤️
What is that tool you use to twist up the wire harness?
Its called a Twistech
I don’t know why using vegetable oil wouldn’t work for figuring volume better for measuring for your silicone?
There's more than one way to skin this cat.
Need to repair a mold tear I found sil-proxy will glue together. On Amazon 15 minute cure time
Thanks I'll check it out...
What are the vents for
Helps to prevent trapped air bubbles.
Is it not necessary to spray a mold release onto the silicone mold prior to casting the polyurethane?
No...nothing sticks to silicon
That tool u used to tie that piece of metal when you bent it in the machine, did you make it or they sell it. Please let me
I think you mean the Twist-Tech. You can buy that...
What silacone to use ?
Check out my amazon store for suggestions.

I had an idea while watching your video. What if the weight inside the lure was adjustable? A way to screw the weight forward and back to match conditions? Just thinking, Rick
that's very doable and I have done something like that for a demonstration video. ruclips.net/video/R68qQnav96E/видео.html
The challenge is keeping the water out of the lure. Maybe magnets!
@@EngineeredAngler
I'll check it out and think about the water issue, Thanks
Hello I would love to have some of your fishing lures when I go pier fishing 🎣 do you sale your luers
Sorry I'm not selling lures for now.
Brø
Fish those and capture under water footage
And your channel will implode
Get a wind mic
Make those baits more than official
Nice work doc
great video!! which is the name materials fore the lure? if you know in spanish better! thanks a lot... fore sure im going to try to do my owns
Which part? The resin or the silicon
@@EngineeredAngler the resin.. it´s polyurethane?
Hello Sir. When I de-mould the lure I have noticed that the micro spheres are coming to the top of the lure. Do you have any solution for the same?
You are probably using a slow setting resin. If you use a resin that sets in less than 15 minutes you can avoid most of the issue with the spheres floating to the top.
@@EngineeredAngler Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I couldn't find any resin in India that set with in 15mins. Is there any particular name for that resin?
Здравствуйте, подскажите какой материал используете для заливки приманки?

Enjoy watching your videos. Very engaging and informative. Subscribed.
Welcome aboard!
Aah crap I am such a dummy, as soon as it gets to volume and ratios of beads v weight literally it all turns to nonsense! Getting so frustrating 😐
Ps nobody’s falt, I don’t think there is such a thing as maths dyslexic, it’s purely my brain being a lump of clay, so frustrating.
When and how did we work out the volume, do they tell you the density of the resin on the can? 😜
