I've been wanting to design and make my own swim baits and jigs for a long time now. Being an old Special Effects artist - sculpting, molding and casting come second nature to me. Thanks for the awesome video 👊🏻
This was exactly what I was searching for. I've got a few baits I've carved I would like to make two piece molds out of. Super easy to follow along, definitely saving this for reference
*Found this through a RUclips video **enjoyable.fishing** recommend does exactly what its meant to do. Very durable and no hang-ups at all surprisingly*
Its metal cast. Im a mold maker by trade(28 years) and have worked with this material extensively. I know that it will break down quickly due to the high heat needed to melt the plastic. This is for the hobbyist not big lure productions. The life of the mold will be short before it starts to chip out and crack.
Great video on making the mold but those two shot lures won't be properly bonded together and will easily pull apart. that's what happens without using a preheated aluminum mold.
Hi friend....I life in South Africa .... Thus to far to call....can you share the name.of the soft.plastic you use....I intend to ed print my mold but dont know war to cast into it..thx
@@MakeLure Awesome, thank you! And then I can order Alumilite White to make the prototype originals by pouring it into the silicone mold and continue to make master copies.

Excellent tutorial and appreciated the easy-to-follow guidance. Thank you!
Very nice, I wonder what the action would be on a hookbwith no weight...
That's absolutely amazing. I've been trying to find a way to make soft plastic crab lures but it's been a nightmare with silicone.
Why did he make holes on the tail part so the plastisol would drip out?
Do you ever sell the lures
Where can I get the softlure ingredients, please include the purchase link
Do the baits come out shiny?
Great mold, is the vac50 able to have resin poured in for hard baits?
Hi Jon, thanks for watching! No, this is only to be used with Alumisol soft plastic.
@@MakeLure if you have a chance could you email me, upskirtlures@yahoo.com Im trying to find a new mold material for urethane resin
@@MakeLure where do I order all of this at?
@@josephlassiter1412 makelure.com or alumilite.com!
@@MakeLure hello. Do you think Play-Doh would work instead of the clay?
Can you pour that resin into your already existing “aluminum mold” in order to make your master blanks to produce a multi cavity mold?

can i use an existing soft plastic swim bait to form my mold?
Ye
I know this is an old video but was just wondering if a factory (store purchased) swimbait could be used as the master blank instead of clay
Yes it can be used
Yes but then you fall into what's called "RECASTING."
Quick question why do you make a gate at the tail of the lure??
It allows any air bubbles to escape.
Its AWESOME, AMAZING the realistic fish movements if you dont show the process, I should not know it was a rubber fish
Thanks for watching, Cesar!

Good day sir. What is the best material for making a molder that last long. Thanks
Try silicone rubber it’s what most use
For hard baits that is idk about soft
I found for soft baits use vac 50 it’s what he uses
Any tips on how to make a plastic bill for jerkbaits or crank baits?
polycarbonate
Excellent video, but the music is exceedingly annoying.
What is the spray you are using just before you pour the Alumilite?
Mold release.
Where can you get it at
What silicone did you use specifically? The pink stuff? Would like to purchase some but wasn't sure what you used there.
This is our High Strength 2 silicone - you can purchase at alumilite.com
