I do have a secret I found that will help you out in the future though. The ladle you are using I have the same one take a lighter and carbon it up. it will make the lead pour smoothly and keep from sticking to it. The lead that sticks to it makes it pour out unevenly.

Just a tip for the swimbait heads when you put that bait on it to show the what it was designed around I noticed as a fisherman that the hook gap was not very good. • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  2 года назад +1

      Not that I know of... I've never seen the dental stuff so I'm not sure where you could get something like that.
      I have converted a few of my master mold boxes into actual molds and people have be printing the molds out of high temp resin and pouring the lead directly into them and it seems to work from what I've been told. I'm not sure how long they last either but it might be cheaper than silicone molds. (of course I'm not sure what the resin cost either)

I’ve only ever made a single cavity mold and find it gets to hot after about 10 pores. I’ve never had one fail even after 100’s of pores as long as you never get it to hot. Works great for tin as well. Anyone offer a 3D printing service.

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  10 месяцев назад

      I haven’t reached the threshold because I’m only making stuff for myself but I hear it’s about 20-30 pours before the molds will start to degrade. I think a lot is going to depend on lead temps and how quick you are re pouring. I like to let the mold cool a bit after de-molding and in between pours so it doesn’t over heat. Someone also told me to dust the molds with talc powder and it will keep them from burning. I've never looked into the plaster or concrete method but if it works the same... yeah I can see it being cheaper.

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList

      I doubt silicone would weight enough and I'm not sure the melting point of aluminum would work with these type of molds but people that want to go lead free usually go with a Bismuth Tin Alloy from what I've heard.
