No way your stock seat weighed 20lbs. Even a none power seat weighs like 40lbs. power leather drivers seat with side airbags is 50+. I think part of the seat was touching something. next time set a milk crate, cardboard box, trash can whatever will support the weight on the scale before turning the scale on, then set your items on that. The scale will zero out with the crate on it. It all adds up. just pulled my evap crap from my 06 after 17 years. weighs 15lbs.
Theres no way front seats are less than 30lbs.. i have weighed honda seats and nothing is under 30lbs.. one of the lightest honda seat is s2000 seats and theyre like 33-35lbs
Not crazy at all, smart financial play. I tune. everything I own, I buy as base as I can (maximize power and future options) sell, what I dont want and then start the build.
By far one of the most unnecessarily heavy sports cars 🤦🏾♂️ I can only imagine they made it heavy for driving in the rain, snow and heavy crosswinds. It just shouldn't be that heavy. BMW and Mercedes sedans are lighter. It just doesn't compute properly when I look at it. Like, it should easily be around 3,100lbs/1400kg or lighter stock. Definitely needs a carbon fiber hood and deck lid. I wonder how much the paint weights now, b/c all that you pulled out and it's still a porker is crazy for a Mustang with no interior it still weights as much as my E Class sedan with a full interior 🤯 3,395lbs 🤷🏾♂️
Yeah man most of it is in the electronics and crash structure. Thats why the nhra recognized how safe the newer cars are and they dont need a roll cage until after 9.50’s. The german cars are way better built than these… but thats why the american models that are the same price get 200more hp lol

Great video..I can assure you that the front seats don't weigh 26 lbs each..alot heavier..weigh yourself then pick it up and see what you got.
I was surprised at how light they were but thats just what i got on my scale 🤷🏼♂️
