I refuse to buy any car that does not have buttons and knobs for climate function control and audio function control. I guess I will never be buying another new car.
Was one of the main reason I got the last year s550. Physical buttons, a real dash, no trash screens. I can change settings with a switch or on screen, and the screen isn’t right in your line of sight. It’s straight up Hyundai interior. I hate the aftermarket screens of 20 years ago as standard equipment now. The mt82 may not do well with 1000hp. But runs just fine at 750. Mgw shifter, better trans fluid and eventually I’ll do a clutch. As long as you aren’t dumping in first constantly you’re good to go. I couldn’t do the auto. Glad your girl is into ripping it.

I would bet anything the screens WERE the cheaper option and a place where they saved money. It's not just about which costs more to produce, it's about how many they're producing. It would cost them more per individual car to make 2,000 analog setups than 10,000 digitals.
Not at all, I own one and you can just tape the plus or minus to adjust it. Dont know why he made it all theatrical with swiping when that’s not the reality of it
My 2019 Chrysler 300C is basically the same. Heated and cooled seats. Heated steering wheel and fan speed is changed by tapping the screen. I don't see it as a Big deal. I turn my seat on hot or cool or I often have them set to automatically turn on depending on the temperature.. I use ithe automatic setting. During a 5 hour Trip. I might hit a screen button a couple times and to be honest. It's not a big deal or hassle. Having spent my some time in a Dark Horse. I found the full one piece screen excellent
So is the S650 Performance package premium. I purchased a New S550 2018 PP2. GT with Recaro seats and several other options. The MSRP was $50,000. I Just sold my low mileage 2018 to make room for my next new Mustang..
Okay so let me say this first, personally idc what a car's stock interior looks like, but with all these screens it looks ridiculous/tacky. They've should of kept the circled dash for the speedometer and what not.
Honestly it looks fine in some cars, but it feels out of place in expensive cars. Especially something like the Stang that has always traditionally had a retro style. I love Ford's excuse too, saying they asked younger people what they waited. So you designed it for people that largely can't even afford it? 😂 Genius.
@@DragonKnightX12 I'm 20, we don't want these. The screens and digital dashes work and look well in certain cars, the mustang isn't one of them. Audi does screens well for example, and I like that the digital dash is still enclosed. Merc is decent but sometimes the screen punches you in the face a bit much.
I honestly I think they nailed the design Ford is always in a rush to change the outside look of their vehicles. It was the right decision to keep it looking like the previous gen mustang only a bit more advanced I just hate how the back is trying to look like a Camaro

idk about mustangs but in my camaro i can setup what pages to display in the cluster and there is an option to add a blank page so the space is just empty.
The star button is your favorite. Like you can change gauge theme, launch control on off, line lock, and if you have the valve exhaust change from quiet to loud.
I love the car, the sound and the test drive I did, but there are two things that put me off from going ahead and buying it: Screens: I am an Unreal Engine developer, the UI of this car is made with it. I know it freezes sometimes and it needs rebooting. I dislike that ford forces you into a premium because the base model looks like you aftermarket the dash from Ebay Engine: Typewriter tick
Yes you can program the star button. Example: If you have active exhaust, here in Canada we put it at close or normal for the one with modified exhaust. In some regions the police is not so tolerant
Ford did get Garret to update and improve the MT82 into the now MT82-D4. I am waiting a couple years to see how it holds up in these cars. Also, the base GTs come with the dual screens. The Premium packages has a single continuous display, in my opinion should be in the base mustang. Honestly though, I feel like with all the regulations, time and money having spent on R&D on a V8 manual car in 2024, this car is a home run even with its minor flaws.
Honestly I never understood why Ford didn't just use the Tremec as the standard manual like Chevy and Dodge did. Guess you gotta give people an actual reason to pay more for a Mach 1/Dark Horse over a GT PP. I don't know about a home run. Terrible interior design, and it got even more bloated. At least they did better than Nissan did with the Z.
At first I didn't like the S650 but the looks have grown on me a lot. I like the front of the S650 better than the S550 and opposite for the back. And as far as the screens. I hate the one on the left. Don't mind the one on the right. So when I was shopping recently I got an S550 w/ 3k miles instead of an S650. Was a tough choice though.
Dude I 100% agree with you on the display, people give me shit about my opinion of it but honestly it doesn’t scream muscle car to me it screams “I WANNA BE SOMETHING IM NOT!” I.e. a Tesla and not a muscle car and it looks dog ugly. They should of just stuck with the digy from the s550 and enclosed the other screen into the dash, it would of been so much cleaner. That right there was a huge reasoning behind me not upgrading, plus I like my 2015 gen 2 s550 and plan on keeping it so it works out for me. The exterior on the s650 though is mint, love it.
I dont think the s650 is perfect, but i do appreciate ford still making a manual sports car in 2024. When it comes to the big 3, ford is the only manufacture making a semi affordable sports car that comes in a manual.
I’m not a mustang fan but I love the horsepower upgrade. I hate when auto makers just place giant screens on top if the dash. Looks like the displays were an afterthought. Love the sound of the quad exhaust.

7:38 i HIGHLY disagree with this sentiment. Base model 4cylinder has a sticker range of about 35k. You are probably going to be looking at a 40k plus base model sports car. A sports car. The standards of quality should be higher and being conformed by subpar standards leads to manufacturers not pushing for better. If I can buy a hyundai sonata for 30k range and get a better interior then there is some issues with that and people are judt willing to brush it off
I’m a c8 corvette 70 th Anniversary Edition owner $94 K car so I know some style always loved the Mustang GT used to own a 5.0 LX Wii say loved how Salerno added some character to the car by wrapping or encasing both screens together. This did improve the mistake. 2nd I love the back label Salerno rear tail end and wing or duck wing looks original and exotic

Reason Mustangs crash are those cheap bushings they use on their IRS. They even leave a huge gap in the subframe. You HAVE to get a subframe alignment insert from Steeda, BMR or similar. Once you get those fixed, man this car handles like it's on rails! Totally agree with this guy, you're better off getting the S550 and doing upgrades to it. Use those $25k you will sace buying a low mile used S550 for upgrades and you'll still have money leftover

The interior screens are the main problem. It's some of the ugliest shit I've seen.
The exterior has some low points but overall they really did great
People act like water doesn't get in their engine bays when it rains, or when you drive down a soaking wet street after a heavy rain.

My 2020 mustang GT had 235 tires. My buddys 2014 focus had the same size tires. It’s crazy how crap tires they put on the stang.

One thing I hate is the refresh rate on the speedo for the s650. On my s550 the digital dash shows every mph whereas the s650 skips

It was at least as big a change to the 05-09 S197 as the S650 was to S550

The new Saleen has a custom built bezel around those stupid screens. Ford did a focus group with TEENAGERS to design the interior.
if the car is in the sun all day, you will have problems with radio loading and connecting to the phone. Make sure you buy a good sun window shield
