There was a time a few years ago when Southern Gospel would probably not have even been mentioned in contemporary Christian music circles. But these days what Steven does would not even make major contemporary Christian radio stations. Crazy to think.

You never, ever know what is in a man's heart. People hold secrets, all the time. They often dont say anything for fear of ridicule.
It is possible your dad and his family called out or reached out to God before death- you wont know until you see God Almighty! All who call upon the name of the LORD will be saved - even if its once, right at death.
So, have hope and faith.
