Entire family except for the youngest daughter was just killed in a plane crash yesterday. They actually legitimately were one of the most well-known families in the history of gospel music. That’s not a joke. You guys keep them in your thoughts and prayers. The two daughters were good friends of mine.
It is so sad...I can not even believe it .I love one of their songs ,a hole in my heart and that is exactly what it feels now,, but they were making sure the best life is where they are now with our Lord and savior...rip.

I have attended most of the concerts and they always sounded so harmonious. Bill Gaither said that when Autumn was informed after she arrived in Seattle, she looked at him and said," Bill i just lost my entire family." What a tragedy. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope."
Amen! it still hurts but Autumn has that hope..We all need to have that hope..I was hoping that Steve and his team would do a video and post it honoring them...
It was also just before a Gaither show (London Homecoming) that Kelly and Todd's father, southern gospel legend Rex Nelon died of a heart attack the night before he was to appear. It was the first time I had ever seen or heard of the Gaithers and their guests and Bill Gaither's eulogy of Rex made me a fan ever since.

They lost both games and never made it to "fast money." 😞 Ironic, the first 3 died from the plane crash, and the last 2, the other daughter Autumn and Kelli's brother Todd, are left and have so much to do. They're one of the most talented Southern Gospel Music singing families in America. They've been singing on Bill Gaithers Homecoming Videos, the National Quartet Convention, and in concert at churches across the USA. Most Christians have heard of The Nelons started by Kelly's dad, Rex Nelon...look them up, they're oh so talented. I've had them at a church I was minister of music!
So sorry to hear of the Nelons in the plane crash. My heart goes out to them. I/we had them at our church about 15 years ago when Autumn was a little one running around. My fondest memory of Kelly was when my late wife and I were at the NQC in Louisville both black hair, same height, pretty and wearing the exact, same dress and they met, probably 2 feet between them and said 'you're wearing my dress'! Funny back then but memorable now!!!
