    Wonderful content! I am so happy to see examples of what you’re teaching end how you’re presenting materials to your son. I have an almost 3yo and newly 5 year old. It’s hard as you mentioned to find content for elementary aged kiddos, so a big thank you. I really am grateful for the time you took to create this and leaving the links! I know we could use help in learning what you’ve done to help your son learn to read and how to use the Montessori resources in depth on parts of the language. We are a Waldorf and Montessori home more so Waldorf but my son is very interested in learning to write and read so we want to help foster that. Thanks for all you do!!

    I am very interested in those artist sheets. Did you say you made them yourself, or did you purchase them? I have a home daycare and we study different artist. I will have 3 preschoolers, a kindergartner, a 2nd and a 3rd grader this school year. That whole grammar set up would be perfect!

    How do you approach teaching your kids letters? I’m teaching my toddler phonetic sounds using lowercase letters but confused on when I should introduce letter names & uppercase letters. Also she is interested in the alphabet song but Montessori parents say they don’t teach their kids this song.

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад

      Yes, the Montessori approach does NOT encourage the song, however, with my son, I did introduce the song. And I saw no issues with him when he began to learn the phonetic sounds of each letter. When you start introducing phonetic sounds, that’s when you should also introduce the uppercase and lowercase of each letter...so your toddler understands how they’re connected. For example when you introduce the letter M you would say, “this is the letter M. There is a big M and a small “m”, what letter is this? And make sure that you DO NOT move on to the next letter until they’re able to recognize that letter. There is a also a certain way you should introduce them. You want to start off with the letter M and then move on to the letters A, P, S, and T. If you’d like I can do a video on how I taught my son to read...let me know if you have any other questions ❤️

      @@allhart Should my toddler know the phonetic sound of the letter first before I introduce the name of the letter or can I teach her the phonetic sound & letter name at the same time? Thank you so much for your detailed response. This has helped me a great deal. I would love to see a video on how you taught your son to read 😁.

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад +1

      You can go either way. If you feel more comfortable teaching her the phonetic sounds first and she is doing well retaining the information then do that. But it is definitely possible to do both at the same time. Try it out with the first letters I mentioned and see which works best for you. If she/he keeps losing focus then start just with the phonetic sounds...but if she/he is able to retain the information well then move on to explain the letter name and explain that there is a big letter and a small letter for each. Let me know how that works for you. ❤️

    Do you have suggestions to foster this development for young toddlers (age 2)?

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад +1

      My daughter is 2 years old 😊 . At this point you’d want to put most of your energy into creating activities that are going to help further develop and perfect their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, hand and eye coordination and language. If you’ve noticed that your child is interested in doing a specific action consistently...for ex: mimicking what you say...then give him activities that will help with his language development...if he likes stacking things, give him activities to help with his hand and eye coordination. We want to pay close attention to whatever “sensitive period” they are in, in order to provide toys and activities that will help foster that growth and development. Let me know what your boys are interested in doing at the moment, and I can try and give you some ideas of activities for them ❤️ I hope that helped.

      @@allhart thank youuu!!! One of our boys is extremely interested in technology (computers). He seems to take a liking to figuring out the wiring and the keypads. My other son is definitely more into balls in that he likes to see how far he can throw things (understanding his strength and the impact of his throw). He’s also the son that likes to copy ALL of our words so I’ll definitely pick some activities for that. Both of them love drawing and painting too but their personalities are definitely swapped

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад

      That’s great. For your son who likes figuring out how things work...maybe try the latch puzzle. There’s also a wooden version that is a Montessori tool but I feel like that may be more difficult to find. But the latch puzzle is a Melissa and Doug one. That will keep him busy figuring out how to open different types of latches. For your other little boy, language games and activities will help so much. And perhaps an area or activity that promotes movement since he seems to have a lot of energy. Maybe an indoor slide, Pikler triangle, river stepping stones, hop scotch mat since he likes to throw...that would help him monitor his throwing because he is now specifically aiming for something... it’ll be more challenging for him than just throwing a ball...and the hop scotch mat you can fold up and put away so it wont take up room in your space. And both your children can use it.
