    Wonderful video! Not common to see things like the stamp game shown in these types of videos! So happy to see you introducing some of the materials we have traditionally seen in classrooms and not shown as much for at-home settings through your homeschool journey. Hopefully this inspires more people to give them a try at home as well 😀

    I think this was my favourite video of yours so far. So helpful to see all the different activities being used by your kids, and to see that they are the ones who set them up and then put them back away.
    I have a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old. My toddler is really careful with her toys/activities and enjoys a tidy play area. But her little sister has just now started to be on the move this past week so finally can get to all of my toddler's shelves (we have the cube shelves, I've made sure that all the toys/activities on the bottom shelves are baby safe). I don't have anything against the baby playing with that stuff and my toddler loves having her sister involved too but she's struggling with the mess that is left by tornado of a baby. My toddler loves to be independent with her activities (and she often involves me too but she's the one who sets everything up and then puts it away) but now struggles with her concentration and gets frustrated easily with her sister getting involved and "messing everything up". Would you be able to share how you approached this time in your kids' lives when your doughter started to be mobile? We have a very small living room that has about 40 sq ft of plays pace and no other place for my toddler to be "uninterrupted" by the baby. Baby is a cat napper so my toddler doesn't get a lot of baby free time anymore.

      I do remember this time well lol. I’m glad to hear that you’ve taken the time to baby proof and provide activities for your littlest one on the bottom shelf. Now, to answer your question, there were a few things that helped with this. One, was to have a toddler sized desk where my son could work on activities uninterrupted. The second thing was in the way I set up their shelves. I had a shelf for my daughter, then a shelf I used as a divider separating my sons activities from my daughters, that way he had his space and she had hers. And when they both wanted to play together then they met in the middle. So the shelves were set up in a T-shape. I hope that makes sense. Since you have a smaller space, you may have to get creative with the set up, but as a starting point I would suggest a toddler table and chair so your 2.5 year old can work and play without having her toys and activities interrupted. If you want to email me privately I can take a look at your set up and see if I can make more suggestions ❤️

    I always see free pianos where I live, hmmm your making me want to get 1 but where to put it lol! Love all the activities. Curious on outdoor activities too. We are always outside but would love to see more inspiration. 😊

      We do have an outdoor space. I’ll see if I can do a video soon on it. As for the piano...yes!!! It’s been so wonderful to have.

      Montessori is rooted in nature, so anything you would do outside, get your kids involved! A popular activity is nature walks-look for the small rocks in the ground, see if you find a beautiful flower, or a dried leaf. This is a great chance for exploration, language, botany, and so many other lessons! A lot of times kids will want to bring something home from these walks too :) Another popular option is gardening!

      We do all of that💖. We're blessed to see deer family, coyotes, and unfortunately snakes😂🤦‍♀️. Yes we grow alot of veggies here and have well over 40 house plants. My girl loves dirt. My boys, no lol. I'm more Waldorf over here but love learning about Montessori 💖.

    Thank you so much, your videos are great. I was wondering if you could make a video on how did you teach your son to read. My 4 year old son is learning to read. I was wondering if you recommend any materials that helped your son. Thank you.

    • @allhart
      @allhart  2 года назад

      I’m going to be doing a video on homeschooling materials that I suggest you use that are purely Montessori. And little by little I’ll include videos on how to use the different materials. Hopefully it’ll be helpful. But in the meantime I suggest just reading Montessori material as much as possible. ❤️

    Lots of lovely ideas... Great work..
    Do you tell your 2.5 years old which activity to do next or she picks up by herself?

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад

      Both of my children decide what they want to work on freely. The only time I suggest an activity is when the activity is new or I feel like they are ready for an extension of a lesson. ❤️

    I am curious, are these activities they choose during like a said time that is school time, or is this just them playing with their learning toys?

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 года назад +1

      I don’t really designate a “school time frame”. The beautiful thing about having so many Montessori materials is that they aren’t just playing they’re learning and building upon so many skills. By allowing them to choose what they want to work on, they learn so much more. From their initial curiosity, I can then extend a lesson and allow my child to delve deeper into whatever topic they are interested in. We are usually in our playroom straight from breakfast until lunch time, then we’ll go outside and play, then back to the playroom until they’re ready to to take a break. Sometimes we go back after dinner. It really depends on them and how they feel. But we do have a routine at least up until lunch time. I hope this makes sense. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask ❤️

    Do they have toy cars or dolls? Are there days where they aren’t interested in any Montessori work? My son is 2.5 years and up until about 14 months we did a lot of Montessori but over the last year he’s been so addicted to cars. He plays with them most of the day and following his lead I try to gear Montessori activities to cars and vehicles but his interest isn’t always there for long.

    • @allhart
      @allhart  2 года назад

      At 2.5 years they’re still working on their concentration and focus. It’s perfectly ok for them to continue to play with more open ended toys. Observe what he does with his cars…how he plays with them and see if there’s a schema he’s currently interested in. That may help to gear some other activities. My son and daughter have an area with more open ended toys, and some days they spend more time with those types of activities and toys. But they are still learning, even if it just looks like they’re playing. ❤️
