I hope that players 9-32 get at least their entry/50ish back or else people will not be incentivized to play. every other game other than mtg does this and it usually results in lesser turnout or a negative experience. spending all that money to play and literally having to be top 8 just to make your money back is not conducive to good OP. Like i hear my friends playing at Digimon Regionals (100's of players) and they are like "I got top 32!, but I got 0 prizes", they just are so jaded from it and it would make me not want to play at all. Usually top 8 just needs to make 2-4x their entry and they will be more than happy (obviously 1st/2nd should be making more than that but if it isnt a cut to top 8 then it doesn't matter).
I completly agree we will see exactly what the prize structure will be dependeing on attendance but rewarding top 16 or top 32 (dependeding on attendance) is very important in my view.
Unfortunately at this point planes tickets are really expensive, summer time and very close to the day is to be expected. Will try get to Spiel
