Went to my first major tournament a few weeks ago, a 1k against 43 people, with Han/Yellow. Came in 14th place and can say your advice helped me dramatically during that tournament. Love the content as always! I just wanted to mention living in the united states, I know for at least 2 Qualifiers they wouldn’t allow you to enter if you were from another state. Which is why a lot of the US ones aren’t filling. I wish FFG handled entry because it’s a joke tbh capping to “locals” only

I competed in Vegas PQ. Spoke with a large portion of players, they would all like to see Boba deploy on 6. Not 5.

Yoda doesn't say "Discard the TOP card of your deck," so can you choose a different card like on the bottom instead (or anywhere else)????

How much would it matter if boba flips on 6?

Is it confirmed that leader Dooku’s exploit ability stacks if the unit already had exploit?

I don't necessarily think waiting for set 3 release to decide whether action on Boba is needed is the right call because if he's still broken (which is likely the case) you just upset players so im hoping they are testing boba properly vs set 3 cards and decks at ffg to actually gauge if its better for the preemptive hit or not

Thork, your thumbnail is top tier. Really captures the feelings of the PQ room I was in this weekend.

Bad thing is, they made so many leaders but most of them are either straight awful or very situational.

Re: the point on filler cards. I think a lot of them (the 2 drop trooper for example) are probably designed for limited play. you need curve fillers and a bunch of traits can be relevant to flesh out archtypes

I think it's good that you're willing to put out some strong opinions Boba and what can be done about it, I did not think I'd find myself (as a historically Boba yellow player) ever thinking a ban would be appropriate but I can definitely see how it could be needed now. I think one of the most telling things in these results is the success of Boba-red and Boba-blue, these are archetypes that should have different leaders, but don't because of the pure strength of Boba. If the Boba problem continues in set 3 do you think it would make more sense to ban in the middle of set 3, or to time it with the end of the set? (Could completely re-shape the meta mid set...). I completely agree with you on the Sabine point, yes Sabine would initially get an uptick without Boba around, but decks would adapt pretty quickly (and some other mid-range decks would rise in place of Boba). There's nothing unbalanced about Sabine, her stats are fine and there are no leader specific support card. She is an efficient aggro leader and then uses some of the best cards in the game incredibly effectively (ECL Poe/Wrecker), the Han2 ECL deck also does that!

Think there was a mixup with the picture for the winner of the Copenhagen PQ, the picture shows the Austrian winner, Boba Green, whereas the winner in Copenhagen was a Boba Yellow list (and a slightly different list than usual, would definitely recommend checking it out by clicking the link) As always great video!

Third way is best way :) The only problem is that limited was better in first set - but in second it's also decent.

Cad Blue answer to armour is power of the darkside. It's ambush deck as you noticed, so it a bit more reliable that it seems on first glance.

I had funny conversation on official discord when a person was arguing that "countering Boba is easy . Simply play rivals fall". Seems like that person is better than all those pesky PQ players , for realizing this "simple counter".

Hi Thorrk! I'm the player that got Top 8 with Qi'ra ECL at the Las Vegas PQ. To give you some insight as to why our meta seems all over the place, Las Vegas players (which 4 out of the top 8 were locals) primarily play decks other than Boba Green. We have a few occassionally piloting it, but Vegas is definitely more skewed towards Heroic leaders (hence the Han1 Green, Han2 Green, Sabine, etc.) We definitely know Boba Green is strong, but I think Vegas players have a preference to play something else and make it have a good matchup into Boba, rather than playing it at times. I know for sure we had 3 local players on Boba Green, but they bubbled out at 5-2 or had a lower record.

I do not think 3/6 for 5 are "bad stats", we are simply living in the shadow of Boba, which makes everything looks bad in comparison.

The only thing that come to my mind with unlimited power is to use it with Windu in a double red deck. You can do dmg to everyting and then flip windu to deal his flip dmg. I don't think it would be that good tho, double red doesn't strike me as a good control color

100% with you on the Drop In rant. 3 mana for that effect would've been completely fine. Make it a rare if you don't want it to be too strong in limited, whatever. But as it is, yes, it's really weird how tuned down Coordinate seems to be.

Single aspect commons and uncommons are generally designed for limited. They are almost not worth talking about for premier play.

Invaders is good against han but i think its real target is Qira. It basicly forces qira to spend resources to immediately kill it whicj can turn off flip barrages and of qira cant kill it it just turns her into a 0/8 deploy which is pretty horrible And i do think Dooku unit isnt really an exploit pay off per say. I think its kinda strang in a way that ots probably best as just an additional card in decks like vader midrange. Curving 3/1> lazer tech > dooku is pretty massive for stablizing and leaves 1 resource up for a choke or vader ping while shooting 5 dmg instead of 2 from just droids

One note about Wat Tambor is that you can still get something out of it by giving +2/2 to a sentinel unit so that the opponent might not wanna remove it (assuming they would lose their own guys in the trade) or keep somethhing like Colonel Yularen alive for the turn/give him the stats needed to maybe trade with whatever punches into him.

I think In Pursuit was designed for two reasons: 1) Obviously a lot of the cards in this set are designed to take advantage of tokens. This card was designed for you to exhaust a token to exhaust a big enemy unit. That isn't bad and a nice tempo gain. It is unfortunate that they designed a lot of these cards for the specific archetypes of this set, because it is harder to get it to be useful in competitive play. 2) In Pursuit also synergizes well with Fennec Shand unit, which increases her playability. The 0 cost card options for her added damage ability, at present, were not great. I think this card is a good include for getting her to maximize her added damage and delaying the board state long enough to get her out. It makes her even more likely to be a 7 drop that ambushes and kills an enemy unit with the possibility of no damage. Of course, is that competitive now when it wasn't before? Could be? I don't know. It is interesting enough that I want to at least try it. :) Also, I completely agree with you that Drop In is just a giant red flag. In watching videos I have become concerned that 1) Different designers have been responsible for designing different sets. That is an immediate liability if there is not unified opinions on how cards should be valued. 2) Game designers, with time pressure, can have a tendency to have really reductive analyses of impact, no matter how much they playtest. Playtesting shouldn't be just running cards a bunch of times. It needs to be more sophisticated than that. I think Drop In is an example. Yeah, they would probably argue that "not all cards are designed for Constructed," but I actually think that is a cop-out. You can design cards that are good both for Limited/Starter AND Constructed. It smacks to me of false dilemma thinking. You aren't interested in talking about Brain Invaders as a potential "solution" for Boba? I think you missed a big opportunity to add that to the analysis. Does it nerf Boba just enough to prevent more drastic banning?

1 thing to think about is anakins interceptor has the jedi tag so playing it in a jedi synergy deck or with the now there are two of them card could be good.
