    I remember when I was addicted I would lose hours of sleep due to edging. Never try to edge before you go to bed not worth it trust me.

    Day 34 NoFap Hard Mode
    The last 2 days were horrible - headaches , extreme fatigue, depression and anxiety . Today feeling alot better hopefully I have seen the worst of the withdrawals

      They will last for 6 to 8 months depending on use. U have to be strong

    Very important message.
    And that state of being "bathed in dopamine" as you describe is also going on when we are scrolling and scrolling and scrolling.
    Not saying social media needs to be erased 100%. There are powerful benefits to learning through it and connect with like-minded people.
    But scrolling needs to be cut out. Instead, always stay in control, search actively, and actively take notes when watching smth. Don't just passively consume, consume, conscume.

    Almost 2 years being on nofap and retention. I feel like a newborn baby I didn’t forget about the past few years of my life, but it feels like I’m born again. My advice for everyone is do not count your days and do not think about the topic nofap too much because the more you count your days the more you’re going to subconsciously put a day where you just decide to relax subconsciously just keep working on yourself and be your one hundred percent best version of yourself don’t count the days it’s all the ego and that’s where the downfall comes from our egos everyone is on a different journey. Some of us are just starting some of us been doing this for a while. But this is normal completely normal act like you’ve never been here before.

    Ah, very helpful video, Bob. I know you've discussed desensitization more than a few times before, but I don't think I've heard the part about your brain using a counter measure from having too much dopamine at one time.

      Thanks, brother! Yeah, I have talked about desensitization many, many times. But I try to do it by varying the presentation a bit to make sure it hits home. Because I believe it's such an important topic.

      The main thing is to get back up after every slip, AND learn something from it each time. That way we can literally "fail our way to success". But, that does only happen IF we really put in effort to learn, calibrate and modify our approach. Rise again, warrior! You can do this! I believe in you!

    I discovered they talked about PAWS - post acute withdrawal symptoms.. i already had pied and then when I was 18 I watched a lot of crazy stuff 2-3 hours every day for 2 years.. is it likely that I need 1 year or even more before I see some benefits? Or is it PAWS? month 8 and still no libido at all

      It doesn't have take a year. But, some people can have to wait that long. But you could start experiencing libido in the next week. We just don't know. Pursue patience, keep positive and you'll be out of it soon enough 💪

    Gooning is one of the worst things you can do with nofap. Once you spend enough time edging you are bound to “relapse/release” I’ve done it for hours at a time once, and when I relapsed after my mind is just wrecked for quite some time. It takes some time to get back to normal after one relapse if you do this. So yes, I would consider it a relapse

    Hey Bob ! Im porn and masturbation free 8 months and in meantime practice semen retention but my question is everytime i have sex during this period i get same and maybe stronger withdrawal symptoms, why is that ? Sex with real woman supposed to be natural is it a relapse please i need help

      It can happen, because the brain is still associating porn with orgasm (or even arousal with porn) , and so it kicks in the "B" process in the "Richard Solomon's opponent process theory of emotions", which is characterized by flatline or withdrawals. It's not because you are doing anything wrong. Your brain just needs a few more times experiencing how an orgasm is happening in a normal, natural situation. And eventually it will stop kicking in the "B" process (i.e. the flatline) as it sees that porn is no longer there. Just keep doing what you're doing, rewiring with a real person, and keep staying away form porn. Your brain will eventually stop giving you withdrawals after real sex.

      Sex without ejaculating is not a problem. In fact, for some people it can speed up one part of the rebooting process (the rewiring to real life people part). Edging without porn (only mastur**tion) is generally not a problem for a person who is not addicted PMO, because it's hard to override your natural satiation mechanism without the aid of supernormal stimuli, (e.g. online porn), but it CAN still be problematic for SOME people who are tying to overcome a PMO addiction (not everyone, though, it depends on the person). If having the slightest problem with too much po*n or even just masturb**n, then I would recommend against edging even without po*n. Because think about it; why would we even want to edge like this in the first please? All it does is leaving us frustrated because we WANT to bust, but we didn't get to. And so we can't really let the thought of that go for the rest of the day. And it is exactly those compulsive behaviors that we want to get rid of (if we are the slightest addicted to PMO). And if we constantly keep edging then how could we truly ever stop being obsessed?

    Hi Bob I binged relapse on over 100 day of nofap I relapsed and after 2 weeks I relapsed again 3 times in 3 days straight and now I get back on track and still worrying about it I don't know If I get back to zero

      We need to forget the term "back to zero". It isn't helpful. You set yourself back a bit, but after 100 days, all progress is NOT gone. Just keep on going, stay away from porn and you'll be back in no time.

    You better switch to those air fried tater chips because all that salt and oil uses up dopamine. I used to be so addicted to pmo that I started wanting to play video games of it. There is something unusually perverted about the animated stuff especially when it starts looking like furries, I've had some really wild fantasies that I wish simply did not happen.

    Edging is definitely the biggest gateway to relapse. It starts with you laying in bed scrolling thru social media, you see something that arouses you then here comes the edging. Mind convinces you its okay to relapse just one more time, you do it and feel like crap immediately after 🤦🏽‍♂️💯

    Can you make a video on how much time it takes for those who goes into flatline before nofap. What should they do. Agewise who started at 14 or before. My case is like that. Need help. I started at age of 14 and goes into flatline before starting nofap. How much time it takes to get out of flatline. Day 110 rn.

    I‘m almost at 90 days nofap harmode +sr
    The whole second month i had a really bad flatline with extreme depression and no libido. Since im in the third month my libido is back and really strong..
    My question: is it bad for my journey that i think about sex (real sex) very often and get like 10 boners almost everyday just from my thoughts about it? should i try to force myself to not think about sex so much?

      Getting boners just from thinking about reals sex is actually a very good sign. Don't worry so much about your thoughts. It's normal. Just as long as you don't try to recreate some specific porn scene in your mind you're ok. Because that can reactivate the old porn pathways. Real = good. Artificial = bad.

      Yes, just as long as you are having a healthy lifestyle. For most people it doesn't even take a year to fix it, but if living healthy and not doing other kinds of recreational drugs (or that much of them) it happens sooner than that.

    In day 34 today almost had a relapse. Alot of urges and started to feel bad and depressed and like my brain was saying: remember when you fapped and you watched porn you didnt felt so bad like now why dont you try and you may feel good like before ..
    Its making me feel bad and trying to get the drug like before but deep down I know this is a lie. Also i have thoughts like : you may feel bad at least 10 20 or 30 days more why wait when can you feel good now..
    A bunch of lies 🤨
    Still pushing for now ..
