Julia, thank you SO MUCH for that 2nd violin entrance at 15:03. I could just hug you for that note! (Oh, and Beethoven too; yeah, I could hug him for *every* note here). Such a masterful performance.
The bars from 0:15 to 0:21 sound exactly like the notes that a species of bird sing everyday at a tree that is in my home. I always thought they could be a line of music.
This is like what? A triple fugue? Because I hear 3 melodies that come back and I think they are individual subjects. First is the one that starts the fugue with long notes in octaves. Then there is the one with the repeated notes. And then there is a third melody towards the middle of the fugue that sounds like a third subject.
I believe there are only two themes: the "galloping" one and the one with the crazy notation. The introduction that precedes the fugue is germinated from the second motif.
there are two main themes that are introduced in the Overtura the third one is introduced straight in the first fugue. Only two of the themes(the opening theme and the fugue theme) are played in the first fugue and in the meno mosso it's the second theme with the first theme. It's a double fugue throughout the entire movement except for at one point when Beethoven combines all the themes at once
Almost. Beethoven wrote 14th and 16th quartet's after this and was urged to write a replacement finale for the 13th quartet (thus replacing Grosse Fuge), which ultimately became the last substantial composition he completed before his death. I've made a video for that finale last year: ruclips.net/video/i7BRtXPzlgQ/видео.html
I Could Listen To This Incredible Masterpiece Every Day.

Did Beethoven time traveled to the 1900s because this is like music from that era
vesteel I don't hear it
It was definitely ahead of it's time.
@@nibiruplanetx784 From Wikipedia: Igor Stravinsky described it as "an absolutely contemporary piece of music that will be contemporary forever."

Johann Sebastian Bach it's not a song
Allegro Vivace Piano I know it is a fugue from Beethoven's bb major string quartet

@@10mimu Thing is, I hear the octaves theme of the introduction come back later on in the fugue specifically at 14:42
@@caterscarrots3407 Look at the fugue introduction - surely the octave theme is taken from the green-colored subject.

why did he write so weird. everything is so discrete
sorry, that was rather negative. great animation. it just calls to attention how weird this fugue looks on keyboard
