Shot at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles - thanks to the staff there for accommodating DJTT and to Richie for giving us a tour of his new mixer. Видеоклипы
Richie have so much knowledge about dj gear that i can understand him better talking about he's mixer then steve jobs talking about a iPhone
Great job and congratulation for your new baby Richie...wish you the best of luck dude...
This man is a visionary and pioneer
He's always strived to push boundaries with technology
richie hawtin is like "im gonna expose you to a totally new world of sound, parametric eqs"
Finally we get Richie Hawtin in the tutorial!
I must have watching this video about 7 or 8 times since it came out yesterday.
I cant be more pumped.
I'm very excited about this... also Richie Hawtin is my favourite DJ.
DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE that when he said "warm" he stepped into the spotlight and when he said texture the camera went out of focus?? That's was pretty great stuff.
+Steven Teijeiro u think they didi it on purpose?
I can't say for certain. But, I wouldn't be surprised if a producer like him totally did do that on purpose. These guys are professionals.
+Steven Teijeiro u must be on a good shit my friend
I love the idea of parametric EQs. I had a friend who had the Tascam X9 mixer. Even though it had some FX, I spent most of my time loving the EQs. it was digital EQ which I would like to play with an analogue parametric EQ on a mixer.
Ahah, i really want to see Kink use it for his first time, being happy like a little boy with all thoses buttons
+julian bruneau kink is doing live sets though^^
+julian bruneau nice thought dude.. cheers !
just got into him and yeah I feel ya. I think any artist that is a producer and not just a dj will get a lot out of this mixer.
Looks nice. Can't wait to get my hands on it...
as this was done with dub and reggae music and soundsystems from yesteryear and they were using parametric eq's and for this to filter over to techno and electronic music on a whole is good to see and hear.
6:53 "Rip that apart and go as deep as possible" - I had 'That's what she said' urges.
Mad! Lovin' it!
An audiophile dj producers wet dream. Heirloom quality stuff here.
Hi Richie !!
Is there a way to change/replace the studio faders to a scratch fader?
Where I can buy this mixer?
Nice! Big thumbs up!
I love this man
This looks like a great mixer with real new features. Looking forward to try it. Selling point in Belgium or Holland?
looks like a nice bit of kit.. whens it due out?
Fucking love this guy. So genuine.
i wish i coulda seen him unveil this at output
R ichie crushing the game!! Destroying dance floors!!
mind blowing, plus i see a lot of speakers getting blown with this one. love it though.
is the Model 1to buy for everybody or only for club owners and popular DJs?
This is fucking brilliant!! i wanna try it and i believe i'll get used to it very fast!
I'd love to see the earlier prototype designs and see the design evolution.
Insane!
0:30 track id please....:)
I have this mixer but it doesn’t quite work well with the Pioneer RMX 1000 Station. The RMX works fine. Whether I come out of the auxiliary or booth to the RMX then back to the mixer via return it just doesn’t sound right. Could there be something wrong with the mixer or something else? Thanks so much.
it's because rmx-1000 has not a dry/wet setting, you must have a wet return signal only.
@@carolinemasson3381 what does that mean exactly? Thanks so much.
So will there be a tube amp model with rotary mixers for house guys? Call it a model 1.5. ;)
Track ID of the song he's mixing ???
lol
KKKKKKKKKKKKK
hahahah
Shut up and take my... oh wait £2.5k???
SheenoDJ plus another 3k for an audio interface.
anyone know what soundcard is that under the laptop??? I've seen it before but can't remember what it is....
It's more than likely an RME Fireface UFX II now. I know he uses RME soundcards, and the UFX II is the latest, so....
i guess the point really is to have an alternative to what's out there. the approach with a semi parametric EQ definitely provides a lot of new possibilities, while it cuts out some of the known techniques. i think it'd be a nice journey for every dj to try out what he or she can achieve with this mixer, sadly the price tag will eliminate it from coming to the homes, even though the built quality might justify it.
Yup, absolutely no product for casuals unfortunately.. I mean, partly that also kind of gives it it’s charm, but on the other hand it‘s sad most of us will never get to enjoy this thing!
The parametric EQ needs a Q knob similar to the drive knob. The channel faders need curve switches. They nearly nailed it; but missed it by "that much".
Very smart to have a master EQ.
So whats a good audio interface to pair with this in the sub $1000 range?
If you can get hold of the now discontinued Traktor audio 10, that works fine. I use it with my model 1 and it sounds amazing. They come up frequently on eBay.
Ah youtube's comment section is the wild wild west for me ahahahahahah! So, here we are, 7 years after, enough time for all the skeptics and haters to get over it... Is just a good mixer and you peeps what's even better? The little brother of this mixer that came out about a year (or 2) ago, called "Model 1.4". Bought one for our events and well,, it is so good that I ended up taking it with me home so that I can play with it!
The name of the company matches perfectly the concept behind this mixer. I mean, someone decided to change the concept of dj mixers by designing this product and despite it didnt manage to become the new "inudstry standard" (like the xone 92 has been since its first release for example, which this mixer was designed to replace) because it was probably too revolutionary and too early and also because as we all know, humans develop habits and is hard to change an habit and replace it with a new one in the middle of your career. Nonetheless, I think in some years, this mixer will become a bit of a niche cult, the creative possibilities offered here are unique and those djs who will have the balls to invest the money to buy it will find out later this is the definitive mixer of their career! Respect to the A&H team for giving a platform to their Xone series lead designer Andy Rigby Jones and also for taking the suggestion of such a great and acclaimed touring dj aka Richie Hawtin who provided a huge help in the designing of this masterpiece and also for the smaller and more compact model 1.4!
so whats the track at 0:30?
+karottenkoenig same, wanna know
+karottenkoenig The is a unreleased track from elmar strathe.
whats the track at 30 seconds?
+Sid Gallup This is a unreleased track from elmar strathe.
what's the name of the first track?
I gotta know, Its killing me😅
i want it
5:18 Broken potmeter for the right channel?
If you want to be able to play it without looking put a number on the top of the knob caps to correspond with the channel?
+Steven Teijeiro and then read the number with your fingers?
+Steven Teijeiro hmm. what about dots. one dot for channel 1. two dots for channel 2. so you can really read them with your fingers..
That would be cool! There are six channels so I don't see why it couldn't just be like a six sided die.
+Steven Teijeiro If you are that bad at knowing where your hand is without looking you should probably see a doctor or take less drugs :D
+Schrader Yeah.... I don't think it is a very good idea either anymore XD
The Master
whats the rackmount under the mac?
+JrOrlow Antelope Audio Orion
first track name?
Richie and Allen and Heath...what else!!!
nice
some of my friends love this, but some of my friends thinks it's gonna be a waste of money. all i'm gonna say, is imagine pairing this up with 6 traktor d2s all running stems. dear lord
it's got master eq that's worth money bro 🙃
what interface is he using?
Traktor Pro
Maae - Descartes (original mix)⁉️
How can I do that mode on kontrol X1 like at 0:18 ? This bouncing kinda thing.
+Vero Inc. the blinking light?
Yes. that right.
try playing around with the beat phase output
Wait, isn't this the same as the Traktor D2 or S8 stem mixing? You can use the EQs to cut out the various frequencies. You can run the audio out of the traktor into an Allen n Heath if necessary. So what is the purpose of this mixer?
RockstahRolln two years later and you still hear the crickets chirping. 🤭😁
🦗
I love the crossfader and the effects of this mixer.
omg new xone!!!!
+David Kavanagh is that a joke or is there new hardware in the back of this vid? I looked at whats on the table and it looks like some k2s and some x1s.
Also, is your profile pic a traktor s8? i freaking love mine.
+h u t s lololol good thing I replied to clarify because I got a good laugh out of that.
+David Kavanagh Not even close. this is way beyond the Xone
+LJM2stepspain can you get echo on yours I can only get reverb
+itsinmynamechap Richie has done so much to help Native Instruments, Ableton and Allen & Heath - I prefer more Digweed style mixing but Hawtin is a bloody technological genius in my eyes
Well I guess over 15 or so years, he decided his Xone design could use an update :)
So Ean Golden was is involve in this project?
AWESOME!!!
Nice mixer a little more can be added ;)
Please add some faders for scratchers and the possibility to change the art of fader knobs
Martin Garrix loves his!!
It seems like this mixer would only suit people play his style of music. Most tunes need a balanced EQ as opposed this "fiddling around" with stuff
+Jack Dooner Well it was designed by a techno legend for the specific purpose of playing techno in clubs, so it kinda figures that it suits that genre.
+Jack Dooner i agree.i personally only mix with the EQs.I cut all the EQs,turn the fader fully up and only mix the EQs of each track.I certainly need all 3 of them.I also use them to add/cut bass/highs when the track lacks them or needs them so the tracks get frequency balanced.
+kick nanta all off that "normal" stuff can be done with this, this goes further in that it gives you way more room for shaping certain frequencies that just are not possible with normal eq's. I like!
which is why its an over priced flop and doesn't touch the xone 92 ,
DB4 for me
oh shit he's using an orion interface... all that gear but the weakest link in the chain is always going to be the venue speakers and the room sound which always sounds boomy
is amazing mixer and great sound but for now it cust a lot money maybe only i can buy the reloop mixer
Great looking mixer but the price is absurd. I think half the price would still be expensive, but fair. In any case, thank you Richie for your input.
Yeah, I'd prefer this bass groove instead of 10 minutes of cowbell. :D
+John Bergman lol
My friend taught me to not look at my guitar when I play it and now I play my guitar better...
The Gear Acquisition Syndrome is strong with this one!
Rane all day
how do we mere mortals get our hands on this puppy?
how i wish i could afford this lmao
Parametric EQ is what he is talking about.
amazing dude. just dont have the money to get this
Nice piece of Equipment. I kind of miss the crossfader though.
it has no normal eq, but maby that's a good thing for all the pre mixed
set boys out there.. turn one dail and track goes down, turn another
dail
and your other track cums up, 'look mammie i'm a dj!!!!!! and the
price???? i'm bit dissapointed , xone 92 forever i guess.....
3 bad things with this mixer.
1- 2x [DSUB] sound card input, 2x power supply input (why not make 3 then just to be extra sure), 2x[LINK] mixer input, just so that another guy can hear your que on his model 1, but oh wait there are already 2 split ques on the mixer for B2B... And trust me this definitely adds more $$ to the price tag, and will never ever be used in the real world.
2- No resonance or lfo for filter, which kinda defeats the purpose of filter it self. [Only master Filter has 1, but why use channel filters or vice versa then anyway?]
3- Pointless 3 band EQ instead of isolator on the master.
Its a bad version of xone 92, again focusing on the market for making you believe its a new product and a new way of work, when in reality it stripped down the features and offered a new work flow, which is very "experimental and individual".
BUT! There is 1 thing they nailed and that is the BOOTH EQ. Now that I clap.
P.S. There is sometimes crosstalk in the headphones.
Still wanting to give them £2.5k??
I thought so.
quite a fair price compared to rane and alpha.
I think xone 92 have much better filters but model 1 is TOP NOW THIS YEAR HOPE IN IBIZA CLUB'S GONNA BE THIS MIXER FOR MI XONE 92 RIP THIS YEAR 2017
1:34 did you just do a line or something what the hell?
+Thomas Francis AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Bro, nailed it gahaha so true !
couldnt care less ab Ritchie but this mixer looks tasty.
+V a l n s k y Richie Hawtin is a legend and has pushed electronic music and its technology.
Mad respect bro, but im not gonna get in to this senseless argument with ya. Ya win. i just dont care about the guy.
I'm not trying to argue. I'm just trying to share how he has influenced the world of electronic music. One love. :}
+CuppaTea101 yea man.. the slices interview/ biography I have seen more then once because it's pretty inspiring. all the work he has done with John acquaviva and I think Hawtin helped with virtual dj and a lot of other equipment. of course native instruments and ableton.
All this is great!
But what where you thinking when you thought to incorporate everything and Very beautifuly so if i might say!
But what where you thinking?
Leaving a Master insert out of the loop?
Why
Why
Why no Master insert to incorporate the Master isolator like an ars 3500?
Major fail!
Major fail is also not including a switch to modify the way the upfaders work and sound! Just like on the xone 96!
You make it in Silver itteration and you have the greatest dj mixer ever built.
Period.
Maybe a rotary version for us rotary heads!
Id have 2 of them one fader and one rotary Just so i look at them!
Any how ill be getting one Despite the fals on the Master insert and fader curve switch.
And the studio style fader caps.
The ones on the xone 62 are better and ill switch them.
For me, this is more of a live mixer rather than a dj mixer. so, an artist like martin garrix or maybe david guetta would stick to the djms, but an artist like deadmau5 would use this mixer (except, he'd want a 128 channel :p)
P.S. where are the 4 band EQs lol xD
how about actually sitting down and listening to the promos that get sent to you and not having some flunky do it for you and playing tunes that YOU really like and not just parts of the ones that have said ..hey downloading for richie !!!
this guy is great but so complicate before bringing it all boards effects switch pedal why no include it on the board the v10 is as good ad model 1 or better wit a massive sound now they bring out the model 1.4 wit the same or less docent make sense these boards r not for mass production its foe a few djs the model 1.4 is like Traktor x1 controler that's why pioneer is the dj booth standard
Would be interesting to hear a different genre rather than Techno being played.
+Artistic Media i think this mixer is geared more towards techno and house, longer mixes or blends. Richie uses alot of layers in his mixes. There aren't many "cuts". I dont think this mixer would do well for dubstep, bass artists.
@@satchelbagagee Well, Deadmau5 uses it. Then again he also plays continuous mixes for the most part..
imagine Ritchie married one of Sven Vath's Daughters and hiding it from Sven and Sven going nutz with happiness when he finds out. Daughter and Ritchie have a beautiful Daughter and she becomes a beast of a producer inheriting both Her Daddy's and grandpa's empires.
WTF are you talking about?
this is xone 92 mk2 That's all it is.
They are completely different.
Brad James no they are not
U don't know what the fuck you're talking about mate...
this is xone 92 mk2 That's all it is.
don`t say bullshit, its totally another propose, specially the filters functionalism.
a good mixer for eq your tracks...but...WHATS NEW???
I don't see it ether, but cool beans about it
+ADRIANO being able to use the master EQ will make mixes where there are 2 or 3 songs stacked on top of each other wayyyy more amazing and cohesive. The new approach of no EQ per channel and mostly effects seems to be them focusing on their style of djing which no mixers on the market cater to.
Dubfire, Hawtin, CocoDrills; these people find specific sounds and mix them together and make a continuous stream of music instead of mixing very seamlessy between specific songs like most DJs.
All of this is to say that the new mixer will allow them to boost the bass instead of turning the "lows" knob past 50% or turning the low pass filter a little bit which were the only two options on nearly every other mixer on the market.
+LJM2stepspain so, when I djing without filters, than I don't need this right?
+Matus Lajda thats a good question. I would say this mixer probably would not do too well in a setting where transitions are done from 1 song to anther song. This seems like a tool to help stack songs and not have them clash against each other.
While you could turn the highs down on deck A if deck B has a good set of highs notes playing; I imagine this mixers "filters" are really just like tweaking all 3 eq knobs differently.
That boost knob? It probably pushes the mid range up a little bit or something similar. You see where i'm going with this? at 4:49 he talks for a bit about all the filters toning down parts of the songs.
+LJM2stepspain aka the old school 'DJ isolator' effects that would be used as 'eq' style effect on the master ouput back in teh day with rotary mixers.. I have only just been thinking the past months about getting some to add to my Xone 92..
Good gear. Although, it doesn't feel like he's spent too much time with it.
Not a fan of the Red meters. Dj's already have a problem with clipping big systems... Master EQ is awesome!
allmicro can you explain me?
lol
so no crossfader ...
+streetwaxtv not too many techno djs need or use a crossfader
que raro que no esta drogado:v
+66666666 nell El comentario mas estúpido.
Hey Richie you never be Dubfire I am sorry😀
everything he is doing on this "new groundbreaking mixer" I can do on my s4 using traktor or doing a live mix through ableton live.... £2500... your having a laugh pal
wtf filtersception, yo?!?!check out Xone DB4 and learn...
Looks expensive. doubt it's better than a xone 92
+asura673 3000 £ + 50 £ shipping, according to their site
who on earth can afford that? even clubs are gonna have second thoughts.
+asura673 true story!
I just cant seem to find anything revolutionary in this vid.
The price is around 2600 pounds -_- so it HAS to sound good and warm and all that (like Rane MP2015, only 2.5 cheapper).
I dont want to diss mr. Hawtin...Good for them, all great, but ...
This is like a Pioneer DJM 1000 and Xone DB 4 and Xone 92 had a baby ...
In fact this is the upgraded Xone 92 with individual filters + master filter or it can be said "a better Xone DB 4" with 6 channels.
Still nothing revolutionary, just something that is nice somebody did it.
marketing
the experience of most deejays. overpriced gear, technical overhead. and 3 dudes checking their phone on the floor. Postsellout technoparties
its a no from me
