    Assuming it works the same way then the model 1, with six channels, I do Have somethings I think it is worth adding up:
    - D subs in and outs is not the only way you can go digital, but I believe is more practical than plug lots of cables on all in and outs
    - when using dsub cables the cue b can be used as a third Send, just like the ones on the top. Have turn on the cue B button and the volume of the cue becomes the level of the send signal
    - you can rout the send signals to any channel, not just to the two returns on the top left, it depends how you do the digital routimg or plug the cables, so the return can have the model 1 eq system if it is plugged to 1 to 4 (or 1 to six) channels
    - if you wish, you can also use both dsub and p10 sends at the same time, so it becomes 4 sends. You just have to route it back to different channels so you can have different effects or devices once you open the send signal on the top.
    - cue function on the return channels on the top left also works as the cue B send once it is on
    - you can also use the master filter on return 1 and 2 channels, it has a turn on/off button on the bottom of this channels
    - return 1 and 2, don't have a eq system but it has a low frequencies cut button so you can cut off from effects or any sound the low frequency is not welcome
    - I love to play any style of music in it, not just techno (although it is my choice as a DJ) . It makes way more sense if you like to use loops and layers of sounds (like the way hawtin, Liebing, dubfire and others plays), but I do like to use it's EQ system mixing other style of music
    Feel free to contact me here or on Instagram (@adrianonadalin) with you have any questions or doubts
    Best!

      @@tendingtropic7778 hi! Sorry for the delay! (Feel free to find me at Instagram @adrianonadalin)
      I love the mixer! About the non linear faders, I don't feel it has any negative impact, it is just a matter of getting used to it!
      The negative thing might be it not having a internal sound card, but it all depends on your purpose. As the father Andy Rigby Jones says :
      MODEL 1 is a DJ production/Live remix tool, a fairly niche market, so I don’t think it’s ever going to appeal to everyone. It’s also prohibitively expensive for many DJs.

      @@digitaldjtips it took longer than expected but it's been at my desk for a week now. first thing: it's got a sound and I really like that. sending a channel to the master filter and maxing the resonance with LP and HP in their neutral positions boosts your lame bass frequencies very nicely. the limitation in channels (I was using a ZED14 before) made me change my production process. at first I thought that could be the show stopper for me, but it turns out I found my workarounds. so now the Model 1.4 is used in the studio and when playing live with a friend. to conclude: it really is an instrument, EQs and filters are terribly useful and I just love the unit. Oh and coming from a bigger mixer, the dimensions are certainly a big plus for me. Now my Octatrack, Rytm, two FX units, the mixer and alle cables easily fit a 0.5 sqm desk.

    5:15 Can you pair this up with a Denon X1850 for its fx? I suppose the only challenge would be which one would be the master? Probably the model one as the sound quality is more superior.

    • @MrFullyCharged
      @MrFullyCharged 2 года назад +1

      You could, technically. You’d route one of the two sends to the x1850 (any channel), apply effects, and then use the booth out on the x1850 to return the processed audio back to the Model1. You could return the booth to a discrete channel or to the return 1, 2 on Model1.

      Your gear selection is luxurious and weird at the same time, very interesting. I am not really sure why you would go with wireless monitors for DJing. If there is any latency it will kill your flow. Also the Model1 is all analogue and so is the movement of the speakers, so why have another AD/DA conversion between the mixer and the monitors? Just wire up some good monitors with XLR inputs to the Main Outs of the Model1 (also XLR) and you are golden.
      As I said, the Model1 is all analogue so if you are playing digital music files in Traktor, you definitely need an interface that has at least as many analogue stereo outputs as the amount of channels you want to use. That is why I would strongly advice against the "NI Traktor Audio 6" as it has only two ore three (not sure) stereo outputs. The "NI Komplete Audio 6" has four stereo outputs but if you use four channels in Traktor already there is no channel left for Ableton Live. Looking at your setup I guess that money is not the issue here so I would get a premium interface with DB25 connectors, at least two out and one in. This will enable you to route eight stereo signals from your PC to the Model1 (ch1 to 6 and the two returns) and four channels (Master signal, the two sends and the headphone jack B) back into the PC and all that with only three cables. You also get fully balanced signals, less latency, and studio sound quality. There are not many brands using DB25 connections but there is a decent selection, including Antelope, RME, Motu, Tascam and Presonus. The cheapest interface I could find is the Tascam ML-16D and as you see it is still very expensive. I advice you to check out which of these work well with Traktor, Ableton Live and - if you insist on using your wireless speakers - whatever software you need to get the signal to the speakers.

  • @djse
    @djse 3 года назад +2

    Kind of disapointed that this is (sort of) their answer to the V10. It's like they just made something to offer a less expensive option that the Pioneer.
    I get the point that this is more for a live(ish) setup but the V10 is way more complete for that, sure it's more expensive, but if price is what make people choose this mixer over a V10, then they should consider looking into the live console market. In that price range, you can easily find some analog console with way more option for live/mix, or even some great digital one like Allen & Health SQ5.
    They position themself as something more "live" oriented but they give less option than what it's already there

    • @risquedj
      @risquedj 3 года назад +4

      YOu do know that the Model 1 came out before the V10, right? If anything, the V10 was Pioneer's answer to the Model 1 & Xone:96, not the other way around.

    • @djse
      @djse 3 года назад +1

      @@risquedj I know, and that's exactly my point. This mixer (the Model 1.4) could have been an answer to the V10, but they choose to do just a lighter Model 1.
      It's a competition, brand "answer" to each others with new product. With this, it's just like they offer something as expensive as the DJM-900NXS2 but with less option, which is disapointing especially when they position themselves as a more "live oriented" mixer.
      For a live setup, I would choose more something like a live console (like the SQ5 from A&H, wasn't talking about the X-One96 btw) which offer way more option for that price range (the A&H is even cheaper I think). Or (if I want to stay with something more DJ friendly with 4 channel) I would go with a Pioneer or a Denon mixer in that price range, with way more option.

    • @MrFullyCharged
      @MrFullyCharged 2 года назад

      I own both and I can say- the only “negatives” to the Model1 are lack of onboard fx and lack of audio interface… but I have outboard effects and external audio interfaces… so it is different, but not “bad” or “worse” or inferior. I love both for different reasons. The only drawback, IMho, if you want to use it like a v-10/ dJ mixer - you need to drop at least another 1k into effects and IO. Scarlett 18i20, Strymon & a delay box = this Model1 ROCKS.
