  • I was on the path to creating something so exciting for my life that would bring more dimension to my reselling business and it fell apart DAYS before the deal was finalized. I can now get this off my chest and move on after holding back so much for months. It was decided to keep it quiet early on to protect the other party and I respected that, but here I am months later with nothing to show for it except a learning experience.
As disappointing this process ended, I'm still optimistic and looking forward, so let's see what's next!

The cost of staying where you are is minimal. Storage units can be that much! And separating your business from your home is wonderful. I am proud of you and I have followed your path from the beginning. You are an inspiration . And to be honest about the things that don't work out is a quality of a really good human being. Thank you for being a good roll model not only in business but also in life.

I hope to see you on RUclips again soon. You have a wonderful personality and know a heck of a lot about vintage and antiques. There isn’t anyone else who entertains like you. Remember this isn’t a failure, it’s get getting experience. DO NOT let things drag you down. I agree with mental breaks and reflections. But use your uniqueness and stand tall, enjoy yourself along the way. You will come back even stronger than anytime before. Lots of people believe in you and want you in their lives to be able to grin or giggle and push all the other crap to the back of the line and keep on trucking.

You are great at keeping a secret. I was amazed to see all those empty shelves. An antique mall (if that is what you were pursuing) would definitely tie you down. That big unexpected $175,000 price tag makes me suspect a building in dire need of repair. With material costs at record highs and the economy getting more sour every day, I suspect this is a blessing in disguise. I admire your entrepreneurial spirit.

Eloquently said Jeffrey. I cannot see you being in a partnership. Your a lot like me kid. I did not want a business partner. I never even wanted a roommate. When I sold my flower shop it was bought by two partners. They didn’t see eye to eye. They lasted one year. I carried the loan. Ended up paying three months lease on a empty shop. Expensive lesson and just about sent me into a breakdown. Stay independent! You’ve got all you need to do very well on your own. With admiration, Katherine ♥️🐩

Trust that you are heading in the right direction. Buying a property is a really a big deal. You put a new roof and painted it. Not everyone that is reselling have a property to store and work in. I have to say I really Love your videos. You are naturally a very funny guy. I wish you a speedy bounce back. Jeffrey - I've always been impressed by your business knowledge & practicality. (Not every business owner can explain COGS as casually as you did.) Setbacks & detours can be so frustrating & I hope you give yourself time to reorient. That said, having something fall apart BEFORE you invest 6 digits sounds like a close call rather than a failure. Remember, when the universe closes a door, just open it again. That's how doors work.

I remember when you first bought the building, it was so exciting to see what it would become. Just like you I had gotten my own shop around the same time you did but to be on the safe side I kept my space at the antique mall in case my business fail. I tell you, it's hard doing all the shopping and trying to run a store. Many times I wish I had a business partner or an employee to at least run the register while I'm out shopping for inventory. I'm also getting ready to do an ebay store. I'm thinking about going online all the way, keeping my booth at the antique mall and using my shop as a warehouse / shipping station. Ahhh decisions...decisions. YOU ARE SMART FOR KEEPING YOUR BUILDING AND NOT SELLING IT. You have a lot of OPTIONS AND POTENTIAL you can do with very minimal cost.

I never actually thought about that. I've considered other businesses renting it for instance a massage place or office location. the main thing in the way is that I need to get air conditioning to the front of the shop. that has a cost, which shouldn't be too bad, but who knows how many people are jumping to rent a place in a small town.

That's so strange because I felt like something was going on with you. I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out. I'm just glad you're ok and dealing with it pretty well. I LOVE the porch floor!! It looks great now so I can imagine it will be even more awesome after the clear coat is done. Wishing you well and happiness!

Your Christmas drop in sale was fantastic, and it was always great seeing all the items you had on the shelves.. you could be open one or two days a week and make money.. or continue with your online sales or… go get a job and do this on the side… you have so many options and are in better shape than most to make decisions.. hang in there

I hope you can share more details later on because I would love to know what your adventure was and I am nosey ! Lol. 😁

I’m a strong believer that things happen for a reason. It may be disappointing now, but you’ll move on and find new adventures and opportunities. If the building doesn’t bring you joy anymore, it’s also OK to let it go or maybe rent it out. Chin up! You have a lot of supporters and blessings. Play with Stella, go have a fun break with Aaron, step outside and enjoy the fresh air. A break might be just what you need to clear out the cobwebs. Follow your yellow brick road!

Jeffrey, don't be discouraged. Don't look at this as a failure, but an opportunity to grow where you are now. I have recently started an artificial floral design business and am selling at a couple of our local flea markets. Business is slow right now and some weekends I really feel like I am a failure at this too. I was even beginning to think that maybe my work wasn't good enough. But then I have recently been asked to help design a couple of wreaths for a upcoming wedding by one customer. I have also been honored enough to be asked to design a full casket spray for one customer for her Mom's funeral using artificial florals. This is my first one, but I knew I was able to do it. When I asked her what she wanted, she told me her Mom's favorite flowers. She then said that she had confidence in me and my work and that whatever I did for her Mom would be beautiful because all my work was so beautiful. That made my day to hear her say that. So even though we all get discouraged from time to time, friends and acquaintances know us and what we can accomplish. I know everything will work out for you and will be even better than you even imagined. Keep going forward. I have confidence in you as well. Betty

Heartfelt video and I can appreciate where you're coming from. That said, you are not back at square one. The experience you've had has prepared you for the next opportunity. From the sound of it, you have been exposed to a reality that you didn't picture previously. When the next opportunity presents itself, you'll have much more knowledgeable questions. You'll have a much better idea what the pitfalls may be. You're going to be better at making sure the next opportunity works for you than ever before.
Despite the disappointment, you're WAY further down the road than you were...and that's not square one.

Hey Jeffrey, You're the MAN! You're the young man, and the smart man. When things started going wrong you said no before it was too late. Start redecorating the front, make the place pop with new displays and colors! Start new and fresh! If that room is still hot in there get some of the sun blocking drapes like I got. I'm in Arizona, land of sun and heat! Those drapes took my electric bill way down. I got the ones with big rings at the top and they are easy to pull back when you want light back. We all love you, take a couple of days to regroup and rest, then get back up and get busy!😍😛🤪😎❤🦩🦩🦩🌻🌷🌴🧁🍩☕
