PancreaseNoWork I have a question do warhammer fans hate starcraft or warcraft fans because I'm knew to warhammer and I like both dawn of war and starcraft.
The more I find out about Fantasy lore, the more contempt I have for those who worship the Emperor. I mean, there's perfectly decent gods to worship that don't demand Aztec-style human sacrifices or your allegiance to a broken system. Also, when will the Flood video drop? I can't wait to see how the 40K fanboys will react to their beloved but unsanitary Imperium getting eradicated by Halo's Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Your hairline is fine. Until you cut it. On the day of reckoning, which usually comes after the wrong haircut... Go bald. But hey, if you can keep it, do it.
In Warhammer the ability to wield magic is largely biological*, if you’re not born with the proper senses that allow you to see the winds of magic you can’t use magic (unless Tzeentch “blesses” you or you have a magic item like Eltharion or Azhag). Settra doesn’t have the ability to sense the winds… Settra is still managed to become a Wizard through sheer stubbornness.
>Be Settra. >1v1s god of death Nagash. >Loses when Nagash cheats. >Comes back for Round 2. >Wins. >Picks fight with 4 other gods. >Does not lose. >The universe ends.
@@UGNAvalon A quick search on google confirmed my thoughts. epoch /ˈiːpɒk,ˈɛpɒk/ There is a slight variation in how the E is pronounced, a longer ee more anglicised sound or a shorter more latinising e, but the second syllable is always pronounced the same, that being not as pic. Ergo, it's pronounced as it's spelled.
One of my favorite things about Settra is that he wasn't born attuned to the winds of magic. But his absolutely insane arrogance, only matched by his willpower, refused to accept that other people could do something he couldn't, so he just forced himself to learn spells. He's the ONLY character in all of Warhammer fantasy that did this. Not even people like Teclis can teach magic to people who are not born with it.
Settra was a God-King to his people (more Egyptian themes) so ofc he could do magic. His people's devolution and his own willpower and desire made it possible.
Don't forget that when Settra "forgives" Nagash, he refers to him as "Prince of Khemri". Because the most important thing about Nagash is not him being the Great Necromancer, not him being the Incarnate of Death, not him eating up gods - it is the fact that he was born as a (however distant) descendant of Settra.
If Nagash was a mere commoner, or worse, a forigner, such forgiveness would not have been offered. Only due to his distant relation did Settra even consider the idea of sparing Nagash even momentarily
My single favorite line in Total Warhammer, is a diplomacy line from Settra to the Dark Elves. "Impress me with your cruelty Dark Elf, I dare you" the utter confidence to that challenge and the threat in his voice speaks to one that knows without a doubt that the Druchii's cruelest of tortures are childsplay compared to what he has done and Settra wasn't even doing it to worship a god, but to show his own absolute power
Settra lived a few centuries too early to know Nagash learned Magic 101 from Dark Elves. Even he might be impressed by their collective sheer irresponsibility if he knew.
@@saeyabor i have a feeling if he knew that he might have tried wiping them out by now, which would have been hilarious to see the High Elves reaction to that

Just came by to say that in Ancient Egypt the ruler was known as Nisu-Biti which roughly translates to Lord of the Two Lands; One of the most common titles of the god Horus is Neb-Pet - "Lord of the Sky"; Opener of the Way(s) is pretty much a direct translation of the name of the god Wepwawet; So rather braggadocious but not that far from the original mark :D

Settra became an undead ancient egyptian doomslayer. Chaos is simply held in check by the amount of demons he slays by the second. He simply dealt with it.

Well, magic in Warhammer is in part a projection of the individuals will. He just so willful with his masses that he made himself magical. Belief, turned him magical in the same way an Orcs war paint actually protects them.
GW is working on bringing Settra back but it takes a lot of time to give him a diorama base worthy of the Imperishable. Also he'll cost $350 and be in a box big enough for two battleforces.
I wanna hope the only reason he hasn't reappeared in age of sigmar is because he's been pulling a gotrek and has been effortlessly killing his way through the warp. The only reason he hasn't left yet is literally just because he's still trying to find a portal good enough to serve as his gateway.
Nah, he's on a quest to kick 4 gods' asses. I think he's more akin to some sort of natural disaster ravaging through the warp, destroying all on his path to challenge a god, dying, and then repeating the same process years later stronger each time.
He is just waiting for Nagash to make an even bigger Black Pyramid. Just so he can open a warp portal into the battlefield. Then a massive army of demons flee in terror as the new self made god Settra walks through
Fun fact, the Ottoman sultan's hat at the beginning is an entire burial shroud wrapped around his head, supposed to be a reminder of his mortality. Kinda ironic considering Settra would probably see the word "mortal" as the worst of insults
5:45 Its really annoying hearing about all these cool "right hand man" characters and not seeing them in Total War. Its a shame Queek doesn't have his friend Ska Bloodtail around to mess up some fools with him, just like how its a shame Nekaph isn't around to herald the coming of his lord.
Hopefully that'll be happening more and more. Towards the end of Warhammer II they dabbled in that with the Legendary Heroes like Ghoritch and Ariel, it'd be awesome to see them go back and add characters like Luthor Huss, Ska and the like.
Tomb heralds seem to suffer the most. As it was mentioned, some characters are heroes, but heralds are downgraded to followers which are essentially equipment. Equipment, Karl!

To be fair Settra would be incensed at the idea of being brought down to the level of a God. The audacity to imagine ANYTHING being within his plane of sheer magnificence is offensive
I really want Settra to come back as the leader of a Death faction that is NOT under the purview of Nagash. Give me constructs, give me chariots, and most importantly give me a solid gold Settra.
My favorite thing about Settra is not his mindnumbingly long list of titles and accolades or the fact that he does in fact deserve every single one of them, although I would be remiss if I didnt mention it, no it is his reaction to waking up from death and his absolute, unrivaled fury at anyone even remotely related to the fact that he was not only not in paradise, covered in gold and generally feeling divine but also his life's work had been allowed to succumb to decay and said decay is essentially what he is greeted with at the moment of his return. Settra is so utterly encompassing of his catchphrase that even a filthy elflover like yourself cant help but accept and praise the fact that yes, Settra does indeed rule. AOS better bring him back and they better bring him back consistent. The thought of new fans jumping aboard the Fantasy plastic train not being exposed to Tomb Kings and Settra is almost as depressing as the Endtimes.
A stormcast squad arrives to a battlefield seeing a whole chaos host laying ravaged around a signal gold pyramid inscralled with All Will Serve *Sigmar profusely sweating*
Settra should come back as a gigantic golden man. After his stroll into basically the end of the world, Settra awakes in Ghyran, the realm of life, before even Sigmar gets there. He's lost his memory and effectively wanders the enchanted lush forests for millennia. His body is slowly restored magically over time and he keeps growing taller and more golden with a verdant hue. Eventually, he has become a god of life and death magic at the same time. His unique ability is total control over rebirthing anyone into anything. He encounters mortals in need and, still without memory, simply decides to heal and even resurrect them. He becomes a wandering mythical saviour of the weak and draws massive adoration over time. This adoration brings back all of his memories over time as he realizes he's now a god, doesn't owe anyone anything and has effectively built a religion around himself. His followers are effectively eternally bound to him. They cannot die, but they get reborn every time. It all just depends on how much Settra appreciated your deeds before your death and based on that you might be reincarnated better or worse. The aesthetic would entirely revolve around every model looking like a small Egyptian god. They'd all have animal heads but normal bodies. Sorta like very orderly Beastmen, because Settra would reincarnate his loyal followers by enhancing their innate best traits to animal levels. Constitution as hardy as a bear? Eyes as sharp as an eagle? Speed as fast as a cheetah? They'd all get their individual cool animal-headed designs. The army would be the Godmarked of Settra. The catch and grimdark aspect of it? If you fail Settra, you simply get.. devolved. You're not a man anymore. You're getting turned into a beast. You're getting robbed of your intelligence to the point where you're just a dumb bestial monster who fights without wit but full of frenzy. And if you even suck at that (or you do a real big oopsie), fear not. Settra the Evergleaming has a new job for you that even YOU can't mess up. You're now part of his Throne of Sinners. Yes. You're turned into a lump of meat and you're added to a gigantic thronelike structure which Settra enjoys sitting on.
Tbh, Settra's punishments seem pretty tame compared to the usual stuff in Warhammer fantasy, Slaanesh and Dark Elves for example. But don't tell Settra I said that.
I take the issue with yellow giant humanoid patronising life and order but oneshotting people of personal reasons Could that be the Empress of Light instead?
Drift Kings are great. You roll over demons, lizards and humanoids with impunity and then stab, crush or otherwise maim what remains with the rest of the army.
Settra could be brought back as a golden god of conquerors if GW brings him into AOS. Like the inverse of Drach'nyen from 40k or something like Horus from egyptian mythology.
Settra shows up completely at random and immediately pimp slaps several greater demons before heading to Nagash's place just to teach him a lesson And possibly take a bunch of souls to essentially create tomb kings 2.0 just to piss him off even further That would be a fun "I'm back, bitch" moment
Remember that time Settra wasn't capable of magic and was super pissed off that he needed cult priests to keep his armies running? And then he sat down in a room with a tome and just became capable of magic by sheer force of will after a few weeks of trying? This is like someone getting pissed off that birds can fly and then growing their own wings from nothing.

Actually theyre meeting a worse fate. There is this faction, the Ossiarch Bonereapers or something like that. They are pretty much medieval necrons, which, by proxy, turns them into new Tomb Kings, but under control of Nagash and losing their main rule of cool (egyptian shenanigans). I hope one day GW comes and says "Sike! Settra came back and now he IS a golden god!" It would be a crazy cool faction to lead.
The sad thing is that, despite being an autocrat, every time he ruled became a golden age for his people. After Nagash killed everyone in Nehekhara, Settra had been too busy to repopulate his land with the living, flora and fauna. Even then, his court mages don't have time to develop the true resurrection spell. Its too bad because his life's work was reduced to a barren land of sand and restless death.
Honestly, if Settra put on the One Ring of Sauron or one of the 9 rings of Men, it would have done nothing. Or at least he would throw it away upon learning something or someone was trying to control him. And then hunt down Sauron for having the audacity to try and make Settra his pawn because Settra does not serve, Settra Rules.
Settra: *puts on the One Ring* The Ring: "Listen to me. I can and will give you all you have ever wanted. All you need to do is heed me." Eru: "Do not listen to the voice. It is using you. Join my forces and serve a cause greater than yourself. Fulfill a purpose greater than anything you can image." And in return for your services, I will send you home. Settra: "Silence, Plebians! Settra Does Not serve, Settra RULES!" Sauron: *senses Settras willpower, arrogance, and stubbornness* 0.0 *nervous* "Ha ha, I'm in danger." Eru: *visible confusion* The elven ring bearers when they sense Settra putting on the ring: *Start crapping bricks*
The only way I'd want to see Settra dragged into AoS is if GW positioned him as an outright rival god to Nagash. Having Nagash's control of the realms of death be contested or straight-up usurped would make for an interesting and fitting storyline.
Ok, I was having fun learning the lore, why did you have to hit me with the "do you like how your skin feels on your body?" type crap at 15:02? NOW I AM INFINITELY ITCHY!
Man videos keep getting better and better I'm waiting for this channel to fly into the sky, keep going man, the production quality is on point. Also gratz for sponsorship.
I have always assumed that eventually, given time, Settra will return with a new Death Faction army. I don't think it would be old Tomb Kings (we already have classic skeletons and skeleton constructs so skeletons and constructs, but they are Egyptian flavored now is kinda unlikely), but I could see them going harder into the idea of Blackstone, Egyptian themed constructs and golden, super flashy mummy men as the rulers. Death has swarms covered by the vamps + skeletons/zombies, a tech army with the ghosts, a more traditional army with the ghouls and an elite army with the reapers, but they lack a BIG, flashy, show piece army outside of just slapping Nagash on the board so a 'Dead Gods of Nehekhara' faction or whatever lead by Settra would fit well into their roster. Order has got plenty of love and will eventually get Malekith faction, Destruction just got the giants and are rumored to maybe get the Fomorians eventually. Chaos will probably eventually get something like Chaos Dwarves or some other flavor of non human corupt mortals so it would make sense for Death, probably the smallest and least fleshed out grand alliance using the most old models just repurposed by percentage, to eventually get something cool like that.
I'm really glad you've included the End Times in this, so often in Warhammer lore videos, long or short people skip the End Times. Which is fair it's pretty poor, but it's still nice to hear it since it's still apart of the character's life.
settra walking into the end of the world as chaos consumes all, waltzing into the chaos pit, is the best part of end-times. the end times may have sucked but settras ending of fucking with nagash, literally being offered everything by chaos and telling them off, and walzing off during the end of the world like its nothing is the best possible ending for such a giga-chad
I like to think Settra is in Age Of Sigmar, but carved his own realm in the Realms Of Chaos. The Chaos Gods and daemons don’t want to acknowledge his existence, because they are genuinely terrified of him. Also because my headcanon is that the remaining Nekeharan Pantheon decided to give all their power Settra…and why wouldn’t they?
I need to make a note of that mind f*** bit at the start of the end times lore. Those are some of the most devastating curses I've ever heard used, and that's amazing. XD
I see it now Cetris walks though a tortured speck filled with cheers and screams of terror there he finds a body human be almost starved Setra Imperishable even in the darkness of the void stands slowly he is seen now not as a Human but a gold body of indescribable beauty. "who are you" Cetris asks the vague memory of a past long destroyed "I.... am... the ... imperishable...king of... kings and the real thing they need... to make the end times worth it." Setra survived off the souls of his people they devoted themselves to there one true king and with that he becomes a god of pride chained and forgotten but never dead for Serta will one day rule and the golden age will live on.
One of my favourite lore bits about Settra concerns the Necrosphinxes. Necrosphinxes are these vast statue constructs that are made in the amalgamated image of man, beast and blade edge to resemble the monsters that patrolled the underworld. However, after a century of famine and plague, they realised that making mortal representations of the servants of the gods of death had allowed those malevolent beings a way into the mortal worlds. They couldn't keep them around, but also couldn't outright destroy them for fear of angering the gods, so they dug an enormous pit in the desert and buried them. That is, until Settra the Imperishable ordered them be used to repel a Greekskin invasion. The priesthood was faced with a choice - unleash the avatars of the gods of the underworld, beings of auch vast destructive potential that they carried death and disease in the very presence, _or_ disobey Settra. And that's how Necrosphinxes are a part of The Tomb Kings army.
Apparently GW is going to release their most expensive model to date. It's going to be Settra set up in a regular diorama for around one hundred and fifty dollars US. However to get his mount which is another one hundred of fifty dollars, which allows Settra to ride atop of his enormous balls.
I watched this video when you first dropped it, and now I'm re watching it because I just got TWWH 2 recently on sale, and I need a quick refresher course on Settra while I play the Tomb Kings campaign

Honestly, PancreasNoWork is completely right. The tomb kings as characters are all more successful and competent as characters than any of the elves, wizards, and Ainur/Gods ever were. "I'm and undead skeleton that respawns now?" Oh well, better get back at it. Why would I just loiter around all millennia, especially when there's things that need doing?" Before any one says anything like "The Wizards were meant to be guides and aid with fixing the problem, not solving everyone's problems for them," "the elves only get involved when the matter to the Dark Lord was too big to ignore or are keepers and preservers of the natural world and only act if it's threatened," or "the Ainur don't involve themselves with the affairs of the world unless there are absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no other options available..." ...It's just as Pancreas said, consider that someone like Settra would not have ever allowed things to get to that point in the first place. He would *Intervene* and solve the problem before at became a problem.

If Settra comes back in AoS he should come back as the summoned demi-God of a Destruction aligned, living human faction, who upon hearing the legends of Nehekara and the king who would not serve, constructed a desperate proxy to that legend. How Settra himself would feel about that... probably not great...

The closest thing to this, is Lord Kroak just deciding he isn't dead anymore and coming back to live because he felt like it
Settra really went "fuck you mean I can't? Who decided that shit? Because I decide that I can conjure spells and I don't hear anyone disagreeing."
Settra was a God-King to his people (more Egyptian themes) so ofc he could do magic. His people's devolution and his own willpower and desire made it possible.

A stormcast squad arrives to a battlefield seeing a whole chaos host laying ravaged around a signal gold pyramid inscralled with All Will Serve
*Sigmar profusely sweating*
Thats a real nice idea........would be fun to watch Settra solo entire chaos legions, cuz he was feeling bored.

This egyptian inspired civilisation seems like a very interesting faction to play as.
They should save him for old world and not bring back any more people from WHFB to AoS

Really fuckin cool.
Remember that time Settra wasn't capable of magic and was super pissed off that he needed cult priests to keep his armies running? And then he sat down in a room with a tome and just became capable of magic by sheer force of will after a few weeks of trying?

Settra is the definition of Built different.
It is funny because GW pushed the Space Tomb Kings very hard in the latest edition of 40k, yet have shelved the originals in Sig.
@@alejandronieto4212 holy golden undead from the realm of Chamon seems like a thing for him.
If they bring Settra back as the head of an anti-Nagasha faction of Tomb Kings I'd preorder the army box.

Thanks!
This has made me a Settra Stan. You are amazing.
I love how much Fallen London/Sunless music you use in your vids! Always fits the aesthetic
I do like the idea that Settra just took storm cast armour to finally have a golden body
Hear me out Settra comes back in AOS not as shod but as regular settra and still beats the shit out of Nagash
Silly question, have you considered doing another Total War Do or Don’t?
Not arrogance if you have the sandy brass balls to back it up, then it's just confidence.

Imagine King Settra fight in a boxing match ? his ring introduction will be legendary xD
Settra the imperishable confirmed for creator clash 3
I imagine either “Hail to The King” or “King if Kings” playing as Nekaph hypes him up.
Great video! And it's even better because today is my birthday :3
Happy birthday, chief!
In my head cannon he's wandering about the warp with Kaldor drago cleaning house.
I hope for Old World we can at least get Tomb King models again and we can have Settra.
Ah, I was waiting for this. Thanks my man.
The first video of yours I watched was Nagash, i ran into this by accident. You are amazing sir keep up the good work.
I'm really glad you've included the End Times in this, so often in Warhammer lore videos, long or short people skip the End Times. Which is fair it's pretty poor, but it's still nice to hear it since it's still apart of the character's life.
Settra had one of the best stories in the End Times.
settra walking into the end of the world as chaos consumes all, waltzing into the chaos pit, is the best part of end-times. the end times may have sucked but settras ending of fucking with nagash, literally being offered everything by chaos and telling them off, and walzing off during the end of the world like its nothing is the best possible ending for such a giga-chad
XD

The Chad Settra VS the Virgin Anathema
I see it now Cetris walks though a tortured speck filled with cheers and screams of terror there he finds a body human be almost starved Setra Imperishable even in the darkness of the void stands slowly he is seen now not as a Human but a gold body of indescribable beauty.
"who are you" Cetris asks the vague memory of a past long destroyed
"I.... am... the ... imperishable...king of... kings and the real thing they need... to make the end times worth it."
Setra survived off the souls of his people they devoted themselves to there one true king and with that he becomes a god of pride chained and forgotten but never dead for Serta will one day rule and the golden age will live on.
Sorry I know this is irrelevant to everything, but is that Wolfstack Docks playing in the background at the start? Absolutely goated music choice.
I was confused when the tomb kings got axed in AOS since i am coming from Total War and sort of replaced by Assiarch Bonereapers
Settra hasn't come back in AoS because he's currently inside the Warp going full Doom 64 on everything and everyone.
He might just be my favorite character in all of Warhammer. Telling the Chaos Gods to eat shit and get away with it is a seriously big dick move.
I like to think Nagash could bring back Settra in age of sigmar, but he is too scared to.

Step aside Tolkien, there’s a new king of the land. And he’s making all your ruler characters look pathetic by simply existing.
Honestly, PancreasNoWork is completely right. The tomb kings as characters are all more successful and competent as characters than any of the elves, wizards, and Ainur/Gods ever were.
"I'm and undead skeleton that respawns now?" Oh well, better get back at it. Why would I just loiter around all millennia, especially when there's things that need doing?" Before any one says anything like "The Wizards were meant to be guides and aid with fixing the problem, not solving everyone's problems for them," "the elves only get involved when the matter to the Dark Lord was too big to ignore or are keepers and preservers of the natural world and only act if it's threatened," or "the Ainur don't involve themselves with the affairs of the world unless there are absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no other options available..."
...It's just as Pancreas said, consider that someone like Settra would not have ever allowed things to get to that point in the first place. He would *Intervene* and solve the problem before at became a problem.

Setra is one of the characters i want back the most. I think a faction of "order" undead would be neat (he would most likely be order because one gw likes putting all the interesting factions in order and two because being in order doesnt mean good, Dok and idoneth are order but pretty evil. And what is more orderly than mr i want to rule everything in an orderly fashion."
If Settra comes back in AoS he should come back as the summoned demi-God of a Destruction aligned, living human faction, who upon hearing the legends of Nehekara and the king who would not serve, constructed a desperate proxy to that legend.
How Settra himself would feel about that... probably not great...
