I didn't love their 2nd album as much as the 1st when it first came out. After time has gone on and I have listened to This Place... more and more, I absolutely love it.
That 4/4 backbeat on the drums and then the utter chaos going on around it with that riff and the riffing and harmonies overtop still make me feel dirty many listens after the first.
I felt the same way about "This place will become yer Tomb". I quite liked it initially, was looking forward to it, but I just didnt return to it following the first few spins. Had no idea they were reawakening with new tunes again, so this was a first listen here. Its good, its got the components of what I liked about them at the time. Im hoping for a song to elevate me the way "Higher" did. That's still my favourite track o'Vessels.

Majority of Sleep Token songs are ambient pop I'd say. I find it odd that metalcore fans enjoy it, but Vessels vocals are really good I cant lie. His voice sounds just like the vocalist from Don Broco, can never get that out my mind.
the whole band is centered around worshipping a deity called "sleep". that's about the extent of it. i dont know if it's a genuine faith or just a way to create a particular fan base or even just a reason to be anonymous

Kind of felt empty and boring to me. Left a lot of vacant space, but not to any great effect. Could see it working as an album intro though.
