Funny how Eden as in the Garden of Eden was Christianity's 'start' so the fact that it literally takes you back to the beginning of their album journey (proper albums even though we've got the EP's) so it's quite beautiful that it takes us back to the first song on their first big album
The first couple pre choruses - the “call me” part is the pre chorus to the night does not belong to god as well- “and you remember everything” part. ---Same melody, a little reharm on the second pass, different lyrics

The Apparition is criminally underrated in terms of where people seem to be listing it on the best tracks lists. The whole album is a masterpiece.

I see a lot of people mentioning the callback to "The Night Does Not Belong To God", but I don't know if anyone noticed that the very next line ("This bough has broken through") is a callback to a song on their first EP back in 2016, "When The Bough Breaks". I love this band so much and I love how they've really brought it full-circle. I got emotional when I heard those lines because I've been listening to them since about 2017 and life has changed so much since then, Euclid really feels like the most cathartic closure. WORSHIP ❤

The callback at the end of Euclid to The Night Does Not Belong To God, which is the first track from the Sundowning album, solidified the album trilogy for me.
First - Theyre going to win a grammy for this album. TMBTE, Acensionsim, The Summoning, Rain, Granite, Eulicid....absolutely incredible.

That would be incredible but the Grammy’s still seem stuck in the past as they tend to hand out the awards to the old farts just out of nostalgia and popularity. They deserve a nomination for sure, but the likelihood is so low.
Grammy is never going to reward such creativity and eclecticism. Grammy is for sheep. Unfortunately.
The Grammys won't recognise this, we all deep down know it. This album is really important for music as a whole right now but sleep token won't get ACTUALLY big, like outside of this scene...

Didn't you recognize the "The Night does not belong to God" at the end of Euclid? What a way to end the Trilogy. It just loops back to the first song on Sundowning. Perfect. When I heard the line "The Night belongs to you" I ugly cried for 20 minutes.

3.) An Abstract Illusion - Woe

5.) Shadow of intent - Elegy
Just to name a few that are legitimate masterpieces imo. I don't expect everyone to agree with me but this would be the start of my list

Absolutely impossible to judge this album correctly. I have listened to The Summoning, Chokehold et al a thousand times and still pick out new parts. This album will take a decade to appreciate, it’s really THAT good.

This feels so fresh and exciting to me like nothing has in quite some time. DYWTYLM is still one of my favs, similar feeling to Fall For Me which was one of my favs from the last album.
Also props for how you put it all into words, nodding uncontrollably all the time 😁
The ending of the title track really caught me off guard. That one, Ascensionism and Rain are my favorite non single tracks. Overall the album is sick. They’ve got their formula down and know what works for them. Do I think it’s AOTY? Too early to say and in August 4th we get new HLB so I’ll just wait. I still enjoyed TMBTE a lot.

Sleep Token are a band not since my youth I have been so excited about, have jumped right into them and gotten really involved discussing them with fans and telling people about who don't know about them to get on them. They truly are a one of a kind band
For me, this album is currently tied with Periphery for album of the year
Same here. I know Spencer's a big Sleep Token fan, I think they had been taking some notes for their newest album. The pacing and amount of variation in both albums is top notch. Although at the moment for me, I think I have to give it to Sleep Token. There is not a single weak song on this album. Not even a just "pretty good" song.

Sleep Token is amazing but Periphery are on another level. They've hit a legendary status this point in their career. Pioneering musicians.

I literally cannot believe how fucking good this album is. Every song has its own identity, the band takes you through all possible emotions while shifting between all sorty of genres seamlessly. The BALLS on these guys! Just to put a delicate song like "Aqua Regia" next to a monster like "Vore" is insane. The vocals are awesome, the lyrics are awesome, the playing is awesome, the production is outstanding. Vessel is a MF genius. Best band in the world right now, album of the year, no contest. I feel sorry for any other artist putting out an album this year. What a time to be alive.
Btw, Drew's face at 11:30 is Sleep Token in a nutshell.
The first half of Ascensionism really reminds me of Drake, weirdly in a good way. His voice suits all of the styles in here and he pulls it off so so well.
They make music that fits my music taste...mostly metal but with a bit of everything mixed in.
In this day and age, where so much is copied and created with rapid-fire, this album is a bright spot! An exceedingly fantastic album! I am in seventh heaven! Thank you Sleep Token! Thanks Drew!🙌
I think The Summoning, Ascnesionism, and TMBTE are maybe 3 of the strongest pieces of music in the prog space in recent history. Genre hopping while maintaining a motif, catchy while somehow all over the fucking place, epic, massive walls of sound.

My man Drew, I'm actually at lost for words for this record... Listened to it as soon as it dropped on Friday midnight and man, I thought the most emotional I have been when listening to a new album was Heavener but that was nothing compared to what my emotions did when I went through this. This is like so unique and just in general its is really fantastic music, not just metal, not pop or r&b but MUSIC. This is what I want, to have creative artists that think outside of the box and just create incredible music... I feel so grateful every time I get to listen to amazing albums and this is for sure such a moment! Im glad that you enjoyed it so much! Im gonna go cry again a thousand times while putting this record on 🤍

Between Jakub Zytecki, Sleep Token, Periphery, The Ocean, Haken, and The Resonance Project, and David Maxim Micic (technically 2022, but I am thinking in terms of school years for some reason) there has just been so much really good music released this year.

For me there's a real sense of closure in Euclid with the way it ends with The Night Does Not Belong to God. It's a full circle moment with the trilogy of albums. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the end of a particular chapter for them and they enter a totally new phase next. What a masterpiece
One of those rare gems where the album tracks almost outshine the singles... I really think there is some symbolism scattered throughout. Euclid ends on the same piano riff as "The night does not belong to God", whilst Vessel also sings "The night belongs to you", this would flow straight into Sundowning back to back. Could this album be a different spectrum or prequal into Sundowning- maybe he's finally reached God in Eden? Sleep Token are so mysterious, cryptic... I am blown away by this album. Wow.

ecluid fucked me up bigtime. after being on this journey with sleep token since 2017 and jericho being my gateway song to them to ecluid calling back to so many songs over the years and some little refereances to the throw back to the night does not belong to god tying in the first album just brought me to tears. they have been such a big part of my life for the past 6 years and its now come full circle.

Take Me Back To Eden (the song) is such a good song that wraps up the album bc there is a call-back to Chokehold right before the screaming. Euclid wraps up the TRILOGY of their 3 albums with the call-back to The Night Does Not Belong To God like it was SO CLEVER and such a... Like.... Kind way to reach out to those fans who have been there since the beginning. Absolutely genius choices made

Comparing this to Heavener will be wrong, because there's almost no metalcore in Sleep Token, there are RNB with Prog. Metal/Funk/Blackgaze elements, while Heavener is a Prog. Metalcore

what an album. I've been following them since pre Sundowning and I'm so glad to see how big they have become. I've seen them live 3 times and will be seeing them again in August at Leeds fest. Hands down one of if not the best live band I have ever seen.

Can’t explain it but don’t think I’ve ever really felt music like some others do, like that emotional connection. But I discovered sleep token this year and it’s constant goosebumps and the words feel so deeply personal can’t help but have some kind of reaction to the music. Album of the year for me.
