I recently bought a Cricut Easypress and I was so excited to finally play with it! I wanted to test out two different transfer papers and see how they compare with each other. This was my first time using these so it was definitely a learning experience! No one ever shows a washing test when it comes to these graphic tees, so I wanted to do one and see if they would change and OH MAN was I surprised with the result, haha. Hope you guys enjoy ♥

I use ppd and love it. Wrinkle tip.... once you press it the 1st time and peel.. stretch the shirt a little..lay that paper that comes with the vinyl...lay that over and give it a light press moving in circles..remove immediately and stretch again and then let it sit
thank you so much for the tip !!! i must try that next time 😁
Does that prevent it from running/bleeding? When it gets wet?
@@josephensworth7044 it only does that if you do not let it sit for 24 hours
Great video! Very informative and answered questions I didn't even know I had while getting into this new hobby!
yay so happy i could help 😁💕
OMG, I am happy to find this video and find out about a paper cutter. I just cant get my Cameo 4 to cut right so I was getting ready to buy another printer that print borderless. Thank you!!!
no problem 😁
This is so informative thanks for this video!
thanks for watching 😁❤️
Thanks, very helpful video. Great suggestions for finding the centre line of t shirts. Are these transfer papers cold or hot peel? Plus, it’s a good idea to pre-heat the area of the shirt to which the transfer is to be applied - aids adhesion.
thank you ! the Avery was a cold peel and the PPD was a hot peel 😌
hi! great video. I ordered my easy press and it comes in today! but, I'm so nervous! I got the photo paper direct one for dark and light transfers but I'm worried about washing them. I will be making these for customers though, so I'm concerned. I don't want them to go to wash it and it ruins the shirt. What would you suppose I do?
i have yet to figure out what settings actually make the transfers stick after washing. i recently did a video comparing the light vs dark PPD and the dark one won the washing test. i also showed the results of what these two shirts look like now 🙃 i think the issue may be the easy press itself. i think an actual heat press works best since it has a huge amount of pressure.
THANK YOU!!! This is literally the best review and you answered all of my questions
so happy i could help 😁
I’ve found that the PPD videos are really good step by step x
What kind of ink do you use for the transfer paper? Can you use the regular, everyday printing ink or there's a specific ink I have to use?
Also Thank you for your video!
i just used the regular ink that's for my printer 😁 thanks for watching !
Thank you for the comparison! I used Avery for light fabric and after a 'hand wash' the colors BLED and also did the wrinkle thing :( :( I noticed on the ironing instructions for a heat press to press for ONLY 30 seconds vs ironing can be up to 3 MINUTES... do you think it's possible to OVER heat press the paper? hmmm... Thank you for the video!
hmm maybe cuz that happens with regular htv as well if you overpress or press too hot. i feel like if you use a regular iron with these transfers, they're just meant to be worn once. they just won't survive a wash since an iron doesn't provide enough pressure.
I use the PPD for dark fabrics on all colors and it lasts longer and does not peel.
About how long does it last with washes?
@@jayflacko60 wash it inside out and not more than 40c and its well be better than you think

NEW TRANSFER PAPER COMPARISON: STARCRAFT LIGHT VS. DARK !
watch the review here 😌 : ruclips.net/video/KWxHygUIH4k/видео.html
Do you think the quality is good enough to sell? I recently bought a heat transfer a printer and the Avery transfer paper but I feel like the design feels to much like paper when it’s done
definitely not with Avery! and omg it does feel like paper !!! the shirt that I used the Avery on is completey peeled off. only the top and bottom edges are on, but they're cracked. i used it to sleep once and it cracked so i just ripped it off lol.
yes the dark transfer paper is universal and would recommend you just purchase the dark transfer for both light and dark transfers.
thanks 😁
Hi. Great video. I have used the Avery brand for 10 years now for my nephew and niece to make t-shirts for them. I think the problem with the wrinkle issues you have in this video maybe due to the type of iron you are using. I use either a Rowenta Professional iron or a Rowenta Steamforce iron that I move around the sheet. Therefore if there are any air pockets, I'm pushing them out between the sheet and t-shirt. I notice with the iron you are using there is no movement, so the air is getting trapped between the sheet and t-shirt with no where to go.
In all the t-shirts I've made, I never got wrinkles like that after washing them in cold water and low cool drying in the machine. Just a possibility it may be the type of iron you are using.
thanks for the tip ! i'll have to see if that makes a difference for me. i do think an actual heat press will work way better though.
I think it’s because of the Teflon paper she was using, the air is always getting trapped with that, it’s the same for transfering HTV. the air stays in place, moisture accumulates so the paper won’t stick very well. It’s never dry under a Teflon paper
Do you get cracking on the shirt after dry and stretching it or like a day after wearing It?
stretching it anytime will make it crack so definitely don't ever stretch it.
Thank you for making this!(:
thanks for watching ❤️
Even though delicate is a gentler setting, I think that is the problem with the wrinkling. I’m sure they say to wash of a full cycle, and soaking them or using delicate can make the colours run out or something?
i feel like the wrinkling came from the transfer not being pressed hard enough. if i had used an actual heat press i think that would've made a complete difference.
Can I use this on a mug? I have the cricut mugs and Mug press. Would this work with that? I don’t have the money for a sublimation printer.
i believe transfer paper only works on cotton material. for the cricut mugs you do need sublimation paper for that. since you don't have a sub printer i would say order your sub prints on Etsy! that's what i've done before and they are super cheap 🙂
Thanks~ It's so infomative! By the way are those shirt is 100% polyester?
thank you ! the shirts are 100% cotton 😌
Thanks for sharing with us. My roommate and I attempted to press a artwork on a t-shirt with our hot-press. We failed! The transfer paper "melted" to the fabric. We applied the PPD brand of transfer paper. We carefully followed the instructions for the correct temperature settings and duration. Would you please post the details about the brand of PPD t-shirt transfer paper you apply in the above video. We like the application method. Thanks again for sharing your amazing advice! Best wishes for every future success story! Please stay safe, and well, Everyone ❤️
i used the PPD light and did 30 seconds at 320 degrees 😊

Thank you for this review
How long did these last?
Have you tried starcraft?
the Avery one peeled off already and the PPD one is a little wrinkly, but still attached. i haven't tried out the Starcraft one. i need an actual heat press for these to actually work.
@@lucykiins I found out thar neenah 3g jet-opaque heat transfer paper is the best out of all transfer paper in regards to vibrancy and longevity. I just ordered 50 sheets with a dozen of shirts to try. I've been asked to make more shirts for sale, so just trying out before actually going into a production. I ordered Cricut easy press 2 largest one. So we will see how it will work. I've never thought this side of business was so popular, I was blown away actually. So i really appreciated your video✌😁✌
How long do they last before they crack? I’m trying to start a business selling clothes using this technique and it would help so much if you could answer more precisely😭🔥
the Avery cracked right away, but I think as long as you use an actual heat press you should be fine. they should never be stretched though or else they'll crack.
Hi...Can i use ppd transfer paper to a tie dye shirt? Thank you for sharing this video to us.
yes you can 😁
Thanks for your help in getting things started
thanks for watching ☺️
We have the same printer, but my print comes out so fuzzy. What am i doing wrong!! Please Help.
try realigning the printer and ink cartidges. it should be in the printer menu 😉
How do you prevent it from running/bleeding when it gets wet?
it shouldn't bleed if it's adhered properly.
Great video! And you used inket ink, right?
yes, just a regular inkjet printer 😌
I have a question do you print through design space or what's your technique? Please and thank you!
i use Photoshop 😊
Is that free to use?
no it's not 😕 but you can use any other program that allows you to change the image size, etc. 😊😊
Ok thank you for your feedback it is appreciated
Can you tell me why the ink bleeds thru from back if sweat or front wet ? On black shirts??
hmm i'm not exactly sure 🤔 i don't think that should be happening. maybe it needs to be pressed more ?
@@lucykiins Thanks.. Ppd said i was using best quality change it to medium or low InK on printer....
oh wow i had no idea that could be an issue. good to know !
Yea. Only problem I've had.
@@bmello15 Yeah. I have it on Best quality as well. Is there a huge or noticeable difference when you go from Best to Medium? I really love the PPD quality, I just hate when it bleeds/runs when it gets wet.
What brand tshirts are you using? Thanks
Gildan 🙂
I do 375 for 13 second but I have a tussy heat press I love it as it gives a more even pressure and they are the same price on Amazon as the easy press I love ppd I print using epson eco tank and washer has nothing to do with it it’s all the dryer I always air dry and recommend customers to air dry
i realized that for these type of transfers you need an actual heat press and not a handheld one lol.
How long do they last like how long does the images last with washes
it all depends on how you take care of them. i have an update on what these shirts look like now after having them for a few months ! check that out here 😌 ruclips.net/video/i0QfS-1382E/видео.html
For Avery you have to heat press both sides(inside out and the regular way). Or at least for dark Avery that’s what the directions state to do. And when I washed my shirt it was still perfect . I also only air dry shirts that I’ve transferred. That might be what happened in regards to wrinkle.
i'll have to try that out ! i want to retry pressing them since i have a heat press now 😊

Hi... So I Have The PPD And I'm Having Truble Cutting Image With My Cricut Maker. Can You Help?? Lol
yes ☺️ let me know what i can help you with !
Hey I just started making shirts and one question I have is how long do you with it would last with the cricut easy press and ppd paper
as long as you take care of it, it should last you some time. just don't iron directly onto the transfer and wash it according to the instructions on the paper 😌
i want to try this, but im very afraid. Do i have to turn them inside out when i put them to wash?
try it on a cheap tshirt first just to get the hang of it. and i would suggest wash in them inside out so the transfer doesn't come in direct contact with other clothes 😊
@@lucykiins Thank you so much! I really want to try this, but i really dont have enough money to spend on all these machines, do you know a way to do this on a budget?
you can use a household iron. just make sure you use even pressure across the entire transfer and make sure you apply A LOT of pressure with it. both of the transfers come with instructions for regular irons 😉
Yess please do a battle with ppd black n light paper! That would be really helpful for me !xx
will do 😉
Hi where do you or did you get your shirts?? they look good
these are from Hobby Lobby. they were like $4 😉
@@lucykiins thank you. 😉
am i confused or did you use the Dark transfer ppd paper instead of the light transfer paper
sorry for the confusion, i used the PPD light transfer paper 😊
lucykiins well now i’m even more confused because although i have never used the light transfer paper, i thought it was applied like the Avery. i have only used the dark and that paper is applied as printed with the backing removed. is there a different type of light paper? i am confusion 😂
light Avery: print with image mirrored, iron, and then peel.
light PPD transfer: print with image mirrored, iron, and then peel.
dark PPD: print regular, peel off, and THEN iron it.
In my video I made the MISTAKE of doing the light PPD as if it was dark which is why you see me peeling it. does this make more sense now ? lol.
is the dark Avery applied the same as dark PPD? 🤔
lucykiins yes thank you 😊
Every time I print a shirt its perfect at first but after a day it starts to have discoloration idk if that’s normal but when I wash it looks even worst idk what 2 do
do you let your transfer completely dry after your print it?
@@lucykiins yess ma’am I use ppd btw but it turns to a brownish color after a couple of days if u have any solutions that would be helpful I would like 2 hear them
hmm i think it might be your printer ink.
Hi! Wich canon model do you use? Thank you!
Pixma MG3620 😌
Thanks ! 🥰🥰
I know it’s not the same thing , but I watched this video of this girl making acrylic shrinks dinks and she would have to make them much lighter before printing because of how saturated and dark the color would get afterwards . So I would say if using Avery to make the photo a bit lighter just so that the color could stay true . Other than that I’m sure the product would be perfect
you know what that might actually be the trick with Avery ! the heat probably makes the colors pop so having it printed lighter would make a huge difference. i'm gonna need to try this ! thanks for letting me know 😉
lucykiins sure thing , I hope it works !
Thx. You are the only one that showed loading the paper as well
glad you found it helpful 😁

How many washes, till they fade?
i've only washed them twice and the Avery one started to peel, but i don't think they fade with each wash.
Friday you prewash shirt?
i didn't prewash them
Im glad I saw this Vid, more than a year ago I bought this PPD paper with a heat press machine plus a $300 printer and i tried it once or twice and couldnt get it to print. Was my first time and didnt do my homework. Just tried it and it works...Thank you so much!!! Great Vid and info!!!!

Please do the light vs the dark on the winner

You should always air dry shirts that have designs. It will increase the life of the print Manufactured or self printed.
i only put it in the dryer for a minute, but i learned my lesson. never doing that with transfer tees ever again 😅
I think a heat press might make a different, it puts pressure down to the shirt but im about to try the Avery
definitely ! it gives way more pressure than the easy press.
@@lucykiins i actually cant try the avery, i have a laser jet and avery is injet :( but my forever lasery dark comes sunday. but nice video btw
Should you wash the T-shirt first?
i'm honestly not exactly sure. for HTV, they say not to. idk how it is for transfer paper. if you do wash them though, i would say make sure not to use fabric softener.
When washing any transfer paper, you have to wait 24 hours before any wash. You’ve done the right thing in turning it inside out but you need to wait 24 hours first before the first wash.
i did wait 24 hours 🙂
Did you use pigment or dye based ink?
inkjet ink. not sure what that qualifies under lol.
Can you redo this but correctly? That might change the color and the results?
the only wrong thing that i did was peel off the transfer, but either way that wouldn't have changed the way the color turned out since both were printed from the same printer.
i would say add a fabric softener in the dryer to help prevent if not all but most of them for the wrinkles to be honest. great video nevertheless!
the instructions always say to never use fabric softener 🙃
@@lucykiins thats pretty funny because i use softener just the sheets not the liquid and comes out great. 😁
Hi
I've got some PPD from Amazon and have been using PPD many times before, this is FAKE. It has no grid on the back as it ought to and is terrible quality wise. I've had problems when peeling off, never did before. Do you know where I can buy some genuine PPD please?
the PPD papers should have their logo on the back. red for light transfers and blue for dark. i got mine directly from their website. if you're in the US here it is 🙂 www.photopaperdirect.us/
It wrinkled because you missed a step. You are supposed to lightly stretch it immediately after the press.
i learned that tip afterward. and i did it again with just the PPD transfers and same thing happened 🤷🏻♀️ i think i just needed more pressure.
Good review.
thank you so much 😌
I would have to say the PPD as well love.
Got to keep it real with you the delicate mode does mess up the image that's with many different transfer paper The manual even warn you About.
When washing it you have to wash it on regular mode or a mode that many other people use. But delicate is not something that's people used while washing clothes.
Most people use delicate mode for Mink Coats material.
i've never had any issues using the delicate mode with other graphic tees or clothes so maybe it was because this one was ironed on. i'll have to wash it regularly next time and see if it makes a difference.
@@lucykiins It's just something that I have noticed in the past but if it works for you cool.
And continue doing the good work👍🏽
How come delicate mode messes it up?

lucykiins how do you get it to not crack much cause mines cracking after one day
the transfer can't be stretched AT ALL or else it'll crack. make sure the shirt is oversized and when you put it on, don't stretch the part where the transfer is.
lucykiins why does it have to be oversized?
@@EllensLens because the transfers don't stretch. so if you use it on a tight shirt, it'll just start to crack since it's being stretched.

these transfers are meant to be used with a heat press so i don't think it's the machine to blame. maybe the settings that were used or the shirt itself, who knows lol.
