He was much better than Henry in his prime and the best player I've ever seen in England was Gazza closely followed by the great Matt Le Tissier.
The FA always have bump up the european players though becuae theyr'e fckinhg globalists who hate english pride and nationalism. Look what they've just done to the cross of st george as they've taken it off the new England shirt.
Ryan giggs was brilliant, and he also has something like 600 plus goal and assists contributions during his United career. And for Me Man Utd were the best team every to watch, their football was sublime better than Barcelona's triangle keep the ball bullshit. York, Cole, Sherringham and Solskar were the best squad of forwards in the world at the time. All having up to 75 assists in their Premier League careers.
York was a goal machine as was Cole who didn't even take pens. Andy Cole could have beaten Shearers goal record if he was also a pen taker. Ryan Giggs is always first pick on the wings for me, there was no other player better than him in that position in Premier League history.

I had a season ticket at Old Trafford for his entire career ('87-2014), so saw a a lot of him, as Fergie played him every game he was fit. As he got older, he changed his game 3 times, to be 3 different players. Even in his late 30's, he could still mesmerize a full back.
    Added
    Phase 1
He debuted as an out-and-out winger. "Chalk on his boots" United had a tradition of wingers hugging the touchline. Coppel and Barnes, konchekskis, Jesper Olsen, Sharpe and several others. Giggs was in that mold. His close control was unbelievable, pace over 6 yards unmatched. In those days, if you were a tricky winger, the fullbacks would give you a good boot in the first few minutes "to slow you down" That was every game for Giggs. It was so obvious, and unfair, they changed the rules to protect the wingers. This was in the time was when Giggs would turn them inside, then outside, so fast that Fergie said he gave fullbacks "twisted blood" For many of his early seasons he was out injured, half of every season. Then the rules on fouls changed, he changed his car and took up yoga, and managed to play more of the games
    Phase 2
His 2nd phase was when he lost some pace, and couldn't get past the third defender, so had to give himself more time, and deliver his cross earlier, often starting 5 yards in from the touchline and playing an earlier diagonal cross, not from the byline, and pulled back to edge of 6 yard box or edge of box to a late arriving midfielder. Still a winger but more measured and thoughtful.
    Phase three
He was in midfield but often in a three, not 4. The 4 4 2 formation became less successfully, especially in Europe. He could still burn one defender, but he had less stamina, and could it do it once or twice a game, so had to pick his moments. Most players had retired at his age, so he was an enigma. Fergie started using him as sub and he was good. Fergie usually subbed at 73 minutes. An opposition fullback would have had a solid 70 minutes , matching the United players runs, closing him off, and would think he was doing ok. Then the subs board would go up, his opposing winger would go off, and he would see Giggs warming up . "Oh CRP, just when I'm knackered, Ryan Giggs! "
He was decent in midfield three, knew when to play a pass, and great weight, so the winger or attacker could run on to it, without needing a touch to get it under control,

Can you say a bit more about those 3 changes? I'm genuinely very interested.
I have only started watching football from around 2002. At the time Giggs was still a great winger, but you could maybe say he already started declining as a winger at the time and slowly started to lose his pace.
I was AMAZED later on, after a few season, when Ferguson started to use him more often in some central areas, still not as an out and out CM, but he would ofted drift there... I was amazed with his vision and the quality of his passing. I remember at first few good (I mean brilliant) passes/assists he made I though he got a bit lucky... But he just continued to do it on a regular basis.
To some part, I have maybe underestimated, or overlooked, his vision in those earlier seasons. Or maybe he developed it and improved it, can't be sure. Just haven't wached enough of him in his earlier - proper winger era.
Now you're saying he had THREE changes. I only know he was a winger in the 90s, early 2000s, and later started to switch to the CM position.
I'm quite intrigued to know what 3 changes you have in mind and generally would like to hear more about him from the tactical standpoint, especially from someone who watched him closely for his whole career.
Btw he was so good in 2011 as a CM, maybe his peak as a CM, but he was great in the few season before that too.
I couldn't believe he would become a more influential passer/playmaker to United than Scholes, but that's what he was at that time.
Also I think the way Ferguson used him in those late years was just genius. Kept him fresh for the most important games. Also I still can't forget that return leg against Madrid in 2013, where United should have gone through and they totally outplayed Madrid (even Mourinho admitted it), where Giggs played as a right winger, to cut inside etc, and he was still so good and quick while being 40.

How many seasons did he play in the Premier League? Not sure how accurate it is, but Wikipedia says he holds the record for the longest consecutive scoring season in the EPL at 21 seasons. Add the seasons before the EPL and that becomes 23 seasons in the country's top division. He failed to score only in his retirement season. That is consistency at the highest level. Put that next to the fact that he's not a No. 9 nor a No. 10, but a winger.
