- Big Lee Stevens from Smarden Classic Services has found a very rare Original 1987 FORD SIERRA COSWORTH 3 door in a garage at an undisclosed location.
This Sierra Cosworth is not modified in anyway and totally standard, the same as the one that went through auction and that one achieved £80,000 at the block.
The plan is to send this one to Hamspon Auctions in Manchester on the 22nd of Febuary 2022 and looks like we are going to see what it gets.

The Sierra Cosworth is a dream car to me. I owned a Merkur XR4TI back in 1986 and absolutely loved it. Sporty ,spacious interior,just a great car but unappreciated in the US. Ford brought it into the US and gave it to Lincoln Mercury who have never been able to market cars like this. Today you never see an XR4TI on the road in the US. They are pretty much all in junk yards or scrapped.

When I saw 'SHR' on the plate I knew it was Wiltshire and then when Lee showed the dealer sticker was Walker Jackson a shed load of memories, some bad mostly good, came back as I lived in Swindon for some years over that period. By 1987 it was no longer run by the founders the 2 Walker Brothers and Jackson and had been sold to some large corporation in 1984 but they continued the name.
Their showroom and workshop site in Old Town was demolished some years ago ending a Ford history there since 1922. Walker Jackson took it over in 1962 and it became a very big dealership.
But what a lovely and surprisingly original car. The ones that weren't stolen and broken up were always being 'got at' to go faster back in the day but those that survived will fetch mega money simply because they ARE original examples.

I was gonna add that this car would have been worked on by Richard Davis. I know Richard as I was an apprentice from 1979 to 1983 and worked as his goffer before he got in to the Cossies. After the workshops closed Richard went on to work with 'Superchips' and done several of my cars. I always preferred the Escort Cossy only cuz my last Escort was a Mk1 Mexico

In Jamaica West indies there are about 3 Serria Cosworth one of it is a Any Roush number 13 . I drove one it was not mine and the other the Andy was a Friend's car. Need to find them.

Nice to see it come out of hiding.. it needs an owner who wants to drive it.. never understand how a cars value would let people stop from driving them as intended... im live in Canada and had the Merkur xr4ti in the mid 90s. Its the only car that I let cause me financial pain and get away with it...
Been restoring an integrale for years now. When its eventually done though, I have a feeling its gonna spend most of its time in the bedroom. Parts are just so hard to find and expensive. I used to think the same way though.
I just looked the Sierra up,its only ever had one MOT and that expried on 16 Jan 2014 and it had 78493 miles on it

i had one in white back in 2002 she was a minter i payed 7k for it and it was totally standard even with the original dunlop d40 tyre and rim in the boot, had it for over a year and sold it for 9.5k
Worth a fortune now these things, hindsight is bang out of order 😂

The exhaust has been put back to original you mean. In adam n Paul’s video they explain why there’s welded sleeves on centre Section. Obviously it has a bigger exhaust on at some point. In his video it shows the true car. Nice example 3 door. But not 💯 original

Gives you plenty of reasons not to get a Cosworth, the prices for spares!, if you can get them. Had 3 Cosworth's over the years a 3 door RS followed by a sapphire RS followed by a BBR RS 500 Cosworth. Crazy for them then as until Suburu & the Evo turned up they were the only cheap performance, The standard 3 door 204 BHP, 50 years later Toyota's standard GR Yaris is a 3 cylinder 1600cc & 270 BHP & the Australians have got them to 470 BHP on stock internals!!. Still love Fords, but ...

@@MotorAddicts yer just great to find something like that i found a capri mk2 3000s about 15 years ago it was my mates and sat their for 23 years it was great to put it out he's still got it in the same condition in another garage he's thinking of selling to me. been In the process for nearly 20 years now to sell it to me👍
