Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

I got it brand new for $100 from some guy who lost his charger. So for me this is DEFINITELY the cheapest high torque impact wrench.
I'm a diesel tech and that Kobalt XTR is no joke. I have yet to have a fastener it couldn't zip off immediately. I used it to get a stuck rim off a semi with a universal wheel separator. I smacked the tire with a sledge 50+ times and it wouldn't budge. The kobalt got it off in seconds. Best impact I've ever used.
I have Kobalt as my basement tools and go bag/pickup truck tools. They’ve never let me down and they are surprisingly powerful. I went from black and yellow to blue last year based on price alone and the results and power don’t disappoint. Plus I like the blue look better. Very impressed with their stuff.

I kinda figured they where the same but they both need a 3/8 impact in there lines (xtr versions) but I had to choose one Kobalt because there line is so vast.
kobalt does have a 3/8 low impact in their line, and like the 1/4" shank driver it has a variable speed setting plus impact stop once the bolt bottoms out (usually 3 impacts to stop). It does a good job of not killing the bolts/nuts when going on/off if you are being cautious, even without turning on the impact stop feature. Couple that with the 1/2" (I have the older regular one) for when you really need to get something off and the 3/8 drive ratchet and you have a fairly decent car work set.

Great test as always 👍👊✌️
I want to see one (Kobalt &/or Flex) taken apart by AvE!!!
Very cool thanks for all good info
I'd like to see how the makita xwt14 compares to others in its class
Red white and blue Murica!!!
Happy 4th :)
Red brand owner nothing but red and black
Wish you would test the ridgid mid and high torque. The ridgid high torque claims to be the strongest 1/2 18v impact

@@TorqueTestChannel Thanks, I searched your channel for this and did not find it for some reason. In reference to that video I have a feeling the new max series is going to be overpriced budget line hot garbage, this from someone who loves most all his ridgid tools. Thanks for all your testing it is invaluable in searching for what tools are worth looking at😀
I use 1-7/16 socket on 36mm which is close but little sloppy however, am I losing or gaining torque by doing that?
You should test the kobalt 1/2 inch with the 8ah ultimate output battery
If you want to refine your testing be aware that a deep well socket does reduce the torque. The torque rating is at the square drive, the further that you get away from the drive the lower the torque.
We have testing and videos on socket size and mass vs impact torque
I paid 90$ for my half inch Kobalt xtr impact new for the money I paid for it it’s paid for it’s self it gets the job done
I am curious I have the flex with the 8amp, I have noticed the difference between the 5amp and the 8amp not big, some difference I'm curious if you guys can test the difference, if can I want to see it but if not I can try send a new battery
Exactly why I sold my Milwaukee tools and now own nothing but kobalt... I've never been one to jump on the bandwagon, I prefer to keep money in my wallet
