This computer is just the coolest one ive seen in ages. The design, the size, the thermal performance and most importnatly noise. I recently installed 4 of these and i am supprised at how quiet they are. They were i5 12400 and 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. The build quality is exelent. Ram clearance is good. I was able to fit Kingston Fury 2x 16GB kit without an issue in one. Under load the fan is still unoticable
Pls give me a Lenovo think center mini desktop featuring intel core I9 14th gen CPU. it will mean alot for me, bcz presently i cant afford one like this. if you want to send i will give my addrress . advance love from Bangladesh.
Speaking of hardware, I have my eye on a Neo 50s but it's the 8 GB of ram version and I have a pair of 16 GB G.Skill Aegis ddr4 dimms for a total of 32 GB, that would be perfect for the Lenovo. Also I'd like to install a 4 TB hard drive for my videos, mp3s and other stuff. BUT I am not sure these pcs are compatible with industry standard after market components. Manufacturers often tend to use proprietary connectors so you can only buy their stuff. Do you know how customer friendly Lenovo is in this regard?
Bought 2 systems that was upgraded from Amazon and both being returned. First wont boot and cannot access BIOS. Second, power button malfunction and not able to start. Days later, it worked and died.
I’m not a huge fan of used PCs or laptops for that reason. It’s like cars. Some people abuse them and then resell them after doing a cosmetic cleaning only.
Without hunting down the specs I'd pick something like the NVidia P620 or P1000. Keep in mind the power supplies on brand name computers like Lenovo, Dell, HP aren't setup (usually) to handle the power requirements of powerful GPUs (Like 3080/3090 or 4080/4090) unless you ordered them with such cards. I'm not even sure they are available to order with those high end GPUs. It's best to check with the manufacturer before folking out a lot of money and getting stuck not being able to expand as you'd wish. A custom case/PSU may be the way to go if you really want a gaming setup, so example.
Short answer is check what the MB supports and upgrade to the one you like most from that list. I no longer have one of these handy of I’d confirm what the heatsink looks like. Usually I just redo the thermal paste during the change.
Hold on, so the Core i3 model with its 3.3 GHz cores (4) is slower than the Core i5 model with its 2.5 GHz cores (6) ??? I always thought clock speed was a much greater factor in system speed than core count 🤔
It all depends on what sort of workload you have. In general I prefer a high Ghz core to a bunch of lower ones. Keep in mind that the newer CPUs have P and E cores now...
@@BobPellerin What would your preference be for mostly web browsing, watching videos, office work and the occasional (light) game? Not all that heavy of stuff but still you want apps to start up as quickly as possible (turbo boost).
Great video, thanks! I just bought this computer and I want to add a 2nd hard drive, when I opened the case there is a 3.5" hard drive bay, but there is only a Serial ATA cable with 7 pins that is about a 1/2 inch wide, and the power cable daisy chained off the DVD drive is very small too. Can this work with some kind of cable adapter to fit a regular HDD SATA drive? Or do I need to purchase a special HDD drive that has these connectors?
I no longer have these units to take a look. You're going to have to find the motherboard diagram to see what ports are available. It should have a few SATA ports.
THIS is exactly why I am hesitant to buy brand name pcs! If I am reading your comment right you're talking about proprietary (non-industry-standard) connectors, that prevent you from installing a regular ('after market') SATA HDD. This is what I dread most! I could easily upgrade my Lenovo A485 laptop with G-Skill aftermarket SO-DIMMS and a Kingston m.2 ssd and everything works like a charm, BUT I didn't need sata connectors so that is a big question mark for a desktop pc like this one. I can't seem to get an answer from vendors if this NEO 50s accepts regular after market hardware or not 🙄
indeed! The ThinkCentre M75s Gen 5 SFF (AMD) motherboard has ample space though and can be ordered without card for less than 600, dependent on cpu/ ram and PSU. A 8600g/ 310psu/16 gb ram (1 extra to0 buy)/ wifi and stand came to 790 EUR. You can add an arc380 for 100, which doesn't need any PSU cables, and you are good to go🙂 I think you can squeeze in the lp 4060 as it has a tdp of 115, you have to fiddle with the 8 pin psu cable. Of course more expensive with 320 something. Totals at ~1150 or even with the extra ram dim needed. It's 8 liter box, I like it. If you get the 8500g 1050 EUR is possible for a brand new system or refurb class A gen 2 5650g plus new lp 4060 for about 850.

is it similiar to the 50T?

I no longer have one handy or I’ve check. I suspect only basic components can be swapped out as space is very limited.
i subscribed because i know this channel will grow big someday... i hope u will remember me
Thanks WoodTalks! Super kind of you to help us out!
do you have WiFi?
Will the Nnvidia T400 G4 GPU fit this type of machine?
Bought 2 systems that was upgraded from Amazon and both being returned. First wont boot and cannot access BIOS. Second, power button malfunction and not able to start. Days later, it worked and died.

it has b660 right and only 2 memory slots?
Sir this machine has Wi-Fi slot. But How to install wifi card?
What would compel me to choose this instead of comparable M70s. Smaller? Cheaper? 😊. Warehouse environment. Hot summers.
What gpus can you add to this

@@BobPellerin I also noticed from the video that the 16x slot is closer to the power supply so that might limit a card that takes up 2 slots.
Id say from desktop variants the most you can get is a GT1030
Can be the CPU upgraded?

Please is Lenovo think-center neo 50t good for video and picture editing ?
Get something with a decent GPU!

Does anyone know if it’s possible to add an internal DVD rom drive?
We’re all thinking it. Why? WHO uses CDs?
Does this thing have a dvd drive thing for pc games?
This was a while ago. Pull up the exact sku # and double check. This isn’t (or wasn’t) a gaming PC.
Stupid design. Why do they always put the x16 slot as the lowest one. I mean come on there are A2000 and A4000 SFF gpu's that can fit now.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Lenovo laptops. What I review are often loans from the manufacturers that I then return. Best of luck.
