One of the worst parts of buying a laundromat is the equipment pricing. I have absolutely no problem with them making a fair profit, I just don't want to be taken total advantage of. Given there is absolutely zero way that I have found to determine fair pricing like in the automotive world it a free for all. It has been super frustrating. If I could buy a reputable product that would be transparent relative to pricing I would tell all the others to pound sand!
@@petermayberry Of course the Fed paused a rate increase on this most recent meeting but they signaled they might have a couple more 1/4 point increases before this is all over. It is a gamble but it might make sense to get a fixed rate for those looking to get an equipment loan near term before we see a couple more 1/4 point increases? One can always refinance as rates begin to recede again? I hope we don't see more increases as the rates are already having a very significant negative impact on the overall economy as it is. The only good I see on the rates being as high as they are is that the distributors are going to have to sharpen their pencils and provide lower prices on equipment to help offset some of the rising costs of borrowing. At the end of the day, rates can't keep going up, there is a limit. I just hope the Fed doesn't break too much shit in the economy in the process.
The first group to offer some transparency and fairness relative to pricing will sell a lot more product and gain more loyal customers as a result. People and businesses like to know that they are getting a fair price on whatever they are buying. The way things are now, you have to pin them against each other to try and level the playing field the best you can.
Yes, that is exactly why I wanted to ask you that question. I think they are much more well known in markets other than the US. From what I learned in my initial research they have a rock solid reputation and deep experience in this space. 20-30% is a major help on pricing. How do you think parts and service will work out for these machines? Is their a warranty and local folks who can repair them if needed?
Hey Peter- I saw your short on the Domus gear in your Kansas store. I checked them out online and they seem to be a really solid company with a nice product? How have they worked out for you thus far? Are they a little more eager to earn business here in the states? How do their price points compare to the other big 4 manufacturer's?
@@petermayberry I am assuming you got their 450G soft mount washers then? Which tumblers did you go with? Roughly, how much cheaper were they than Electrolux percentage wise?
@@10xitall they were considerably cheaper. I want to say something like 20%. Over 30% cheaper than some other brands. They are definitely trying to buy their way into the market. My guess is when they get established they will go up in price.
You’re really surprised why poor people spend so much money, it’s an exit ramp from a nightmare. They’re taking a chance, a cheap chance that they can afford in the moment. Most understandable possible behavior. We can serve these communities without diminishing them, I think.
gambling, lottery, casino is called the poor tax. its people wanting to "get rich quick" even though they never will off those games
Only to the lucky few

Love the idea of skills games.

Here I was thinking you were about to call out the clientelle. LOL 🤣
20-30% savings is huge especially given the crazy stupid interest rates right now.
If the rates keep going up I may have to pause my expansion.

There is a warranty which I believe is 3 years. I have two full time techs on staff.

They were cheaper than Electrolux so I decided to try them. I will let you know the honest answer how they stack up when we get some turns thru them.

You look like a cop, trying not to be a cop. You have cop energy, you would look like a cop if you were in a giraffe suit.
So location is the 1st thing I should look into? Do you think I should scope out the laundromat we have in town.
