Guys, you made me cry. I am from Bicaz and after years of living abroad, I returned to my hometown because of its beauty. Now that I am here I want to do everything for this area, I am involved in the community, I promote tourism within our local association, and I would even go into politics to see this gem thrive. You are more than welcome again and I can take you to that little beach you saw across the lake, it s a beautiful drive through the forest. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Steve, you are not allowed to drink&drive in Romania. AT ALL! They'll have your license for it. That's because we get a lot of drink&drive car crashes, so the law states 0% alcohol tolerance
That's in USA
In RO you drive after
you take a ( dusca de palinca)
As a Romanian, I declare you more Romanian than other Romanians. I been away from "home" for a few years and I have to admit that I love your videos more than the travel vlogs that are Romanians
You are so correct. Romanians Voogers should be proud and show more of our beautiful land.
Extraordinary view, Romania is a fabulous country. I'm from Ontario too.
Canada is very vast and beautiful too, but Romania, even though is much smaller than Canada, it’s very beautiful and has a lot of character. Foreigners seem to really embrace our country and our culture, and i don’t blame them, it is unique, even special, if i can say so myself as Romanian.
8:14 yooooo.... in Romania you are not alowed to drink and drive
Be careful, Steve, don t drink and drive! In Romania, you not allowed to drink at all when driving, not even 0.01% alcohol... Be safe!
All Romania is beautiful not only Transilvania and I am from Transilvania(Brasov). Every region has something unique.
Așa este!
Are real vampire realy exsis in there?
@@arman-xv7cv yes
@@zontarr8812 🤣🤣
@@arman-xv7cv - actually, the real vampires are in UK and US to this very day.
The highest mountain you see in the background is called Ceahlau, and you can hike to the mountain cabin Cabana Dochia situated at 1750 meters altitude either from Durau or from Izvorul Muntelui villages. Ceahlau is quite popular to hikers and the views are incredible :)
@JetLag Warriors There you are Steve and Ivana a Chellenge waiting to happen... since Mount Kinabalu didn't happen... go guys...
Steve and Ivana, you're fantastic! The most appreciated vloggers traveling in Romania...! Your videos inspire even me, a Romanian, to visit more of my country. Steve, your zest for life, your energy and your positivity are contagious. This is the spirit with which we should look at Romania! As long as we have such wonderful places, all is not lost for us... Maybe you'll even seriously consider buying a small property here in a very nice place.... You could perhaps become hosts in your turn for foreign tourists coming to these parts... For Canadian tourists specifically, you'd have an easier time...
Beautiful
Thank you so much!
Yes, that’s our dream one day to open a BnB.
@@JetLagWarriors If you will still arrive in the area of the Bicaz dam - the Izvorul Muntelui lake, stay at the Ancora hotel, it is a super accommodation right on the shore of the lake, and the restaurant is exceptional, they only have a few dishes, but they are perfectly cooked with a taste of superlative. 🤗
Romania, through your eyes, looks more beautiful than through mine. Thank you for this revelation! Kindly, a local.
Romania Is beautiful❤️
I would translate "La bunica" as "Grandma's Place". You guys are giving me so many travel ideas in my own country! I know you will need to leave, but you absolutely must return at some point, especially since we already established you need to get citizenship. Luv yous as always!
"At grandma's" more like
@@bogdy2craizy Translations are not made word by word, but they take into account how they sound and how much sense they make in the translated language. Thus "Grandma's Place" makes more sense in English and it retains the exact same meaning.
@@marcfaur I'd even shorten it to "Grandma's" only. And yes you are absolutely right.
@@marcfaur mine makes sense too
@@mariusmuresan8248 Yes, "Grandma's" works perfectly fine as well.
And the red lake is about 30km
Be careful, in Romania even a single beer means your license is suspended and you pay the fine, if you drive.
What!?
@@Retrogamer71 indeed. there is ZERO tolerance on alcohool while driving in Romania
The place is breathtaking 🤩
Romanians know that place.
Romania is A LOT MORE than only Dracula and Transylvania.
They're doing more for Romanian tourism than the actual Ministry of Tourism.
amazing! how funny can represent Romanian country ! love you and so happy to see you again and again in our country! Respect!
ce tara frumoasa avem
Asta am știut întotdeauna. Ar trebuii să viziteze Cheiile Bicazului și Lacul Roșu !!
In a house with a view like that, even dreams are beautiful🥰🥰🥰❤️

The view from La Bunica's balcony is so take-my-breath-away stunning that it doesnt even seem real.
Lol only Steve would think of saving mici nibs for last.
Cant help but imagine Steve savoring the 8 mici nibs at the end of his mici meal 😂
Cheile Bicazului is a must see place! You are very close.
I love you guys! You are the most reprezentative travel minister from Romania!!!
Drone paradise!
Guys, visit Cheile Bicazului ( the Keis of Bicaz )...the road passes between rocks in the mountains!!

*** Bicaz Gorge
'Going this way, turning left, that's the plan'...😅👍 Awesome. Yeh it's beautiful around the lake all around it. That's why I love Romania and proud to call it my home now and the only way I will be leaving is in a box 😁. Love your continued enthusiasm for life and for this beautiful country.
From where are you originally?
if you're still in the area, Bicaz Gorge (Cheile Bicazului in Romanian) and The Red Lake (Lacu Rosu in Romanian) are worth a visit. the lake is at the top of the gorge, so you can 'kill two birds with one stone' so to speak.
I love you both. I'm Romanian at origin and I've seen all of the country with my parents, and at that time , was a luxury ( 1960 to 1970 ). Your enthusiasm and great vloogs , should make you an "honorary citizen of Romania).
Also guys, don't forget to visit Iasi , a treasure city
You guys are amazing! I'm Romanian and I don't have the means to go visit my country, so I get to see it through others. I have a list of beauties I'd like to see for myself someday. Enjoy our beautiful land!
P.S. you're making me get some mici meat and have some tonight
Bunica means Granny. So you stay at The Granny's motel. Enjoy Romania!!!
"At Granny's"
I'm glad that you are so open to visit not only Transilvania, but also Moldova which is less visited by foreigners but it's so beautiful. It s so nice that you see so much beauty in our country and I didn t hear you criticize anythiing 😳
Cheeers from Bacău 😁
See the previous video, they ate mici in Bacau: ruclips.net/video/3jLRYYF6clU/видео.html
Hi guys 👋 wow that was indeed a million dollar view 🤩 so picturesque 👏🏻 amazing footages from the drone it’s like heaven on earth 👍🏻is that a water dam connected to the lake ? Beautiful lake , valleys and villages love the scenery 🥰👍🏻 enjoy your stay guys 🥰😘
The best part of the "mici"is actually grilling them and dumping ( or sprinkling) cold beer on top whenever the juices from the fat start to make a direct flame. The best part is the company. Mici are not just for eating; thay are a staple of bringing people together in sharing love and good times
Guys, this is stunning! If you have the time go to Colibitza Lake in Transylvania, not far from Bistrita....you'll love that one too! That place has the highest ozone concentration in Romania, the purest air....
Agree with you. Been there, what a place ♥️
Lock at the last seconds of the video end you see the Greatest Mountains ..Ceahlau (in the background)
Yea, I can understand your enthusiasm, since I already live in this paradise😅
Beautiful drone shots!! Keep safe, healthy and happy.
Actually there is a road from Bicaz / Izvorul Muntelui to Durau resort, which crosses the Ceahlău mountain. 🚗 I regret I did not insist telling you about Durau resort (which is "there"). There are many places in Neamt county to visit, but let's hope you will come again.
Ohhhh Pensiunea Vânătorul is amazing if anyone takes a trip that way!!!!!
Bicaz Lake has another name "Izvorul Muntelui" which means The Spring of The Mountain or Mountain Spring, it's the largest dam lake in Romania
That's Lake Izvorul Muntelui (Mountain Spring). People do know about it because, in the distance you can see Ceahlau mountain, one of the most popular mountain vacation destinations for Romanians (or at least those in Neamt county and the rest of the Moldova region), and you need to go around the lake to get there. It's stunning in every season. Truly something that most foreign tourists miss out on but shouldn't.
Romania is one 3rd mountains and one 3rd hills so there are plenty of landscapes. it also has some 3.5k lakes. And lots of caves, waterfalls. Anyway, to the east you have the Ceahlaul Mountains and south-east Cheile BIcazului.
Omg, I can't believe you guys came so close to my grandparents, the place where I grew up and I keep returning in awe to the beautiful, almost untouched nature. The sights here are incredible and the people are very hard-working and hospitable. The food is incredible and the booze keeps on coming😅. Enjoy!
That is true . Like Switzerland.
Even better. The cost 10 time less and 10 times actually more beautiful
You saw more of Romania than I ever saw in my whole life being a Romanian! Congrats!
Beautiful
"LA BUNICA" means "AT GRANDMA's" house! It is a beautiful scenery, it simply brings back memories of my childhood! You are capturing the most beautiful shots of all ROMANIA! Thank you, AMBASSADORS OF ROMANIA!!! Love everything you do guys! You just make my day, everytime I'm watching you. Thank you! Keep it up! BON VOYAGE! Chris/NY
We call it "the sea of mountains"!Go to Lacu Rosu and Cheile Bicazului! Your drone will be busy there!
JLW you truly opened the beauty of Romania to the world! Wonderful vlog guys. Thank you so much love life ve this👏👏👏👏👏
Great! Its now 10 pm and I crave for mici 🤣. Great vlog, guys, and thanks for visiting and promoting our beautiful country!
Absolutely beautiful and tranquil. Million thanks guys for sharing.
Go to Cheile Bicazului too! Its a very beautiful place!
I highly recomand another region in Romania. You can do Oltenia as well, the capital city Craiova looks quite good, the food is mostly the same but the pass to Transylvania along the Olt river is stuning and also locations like Orsova near the border with Serbia where the Mountains meet the Danube are stunning
NO WAY! I’m from Bicaz! Great to see foreigners find it’s beauty!
It is really impressive how much joy nature can give to people. The best energy. 😊
Definitely beautiful country side. Great drone shots. As Clark would say...."That's a nice damn Dam!
You need to go on Cheile Bicazului is a road 2km away from you right now. Its literally a road throught the mountains. You can checkout pics and video first. is beautiful.
And congratulation for this video .from 1 sec to the end ..amazing ..and I want to repeat but you are the best Ambassador for Romania ...you and Ivana ...love you guys
I was born in piatra neamt...only 30km away... and I grew up on those parts... in fact the road around the lake is my favorite road to drive, bike or hike on...
There is a second road that goes paralel to the road you were on... its on the other side of the lake... the lake itself has 35km lengh, and it goes around the Ceahlau mountain... its shape is like a banana or a moon crescent... with the mountain in the middle... the bridge you showed is called Poiana Largului Viaduct... its a major crossroad... with 2 roads conecting on one side (one heading towards Targu Neamt, the other towards Bicaz) and another 2 roads conecting on the other side (one heading towards Vatra Dornei and the other towards Borsec)... that whole area is amaizing for its sights... if you have time you could climb Ceahlau mountain... there is a cabin near the top (Dochia Cabin)... there you can see the entire lake from 1800m high... and a lot more... the waterfall Duruitoarea is also nearby to the cabin as well as the weather station next to the peek (the highest station in the country)... also you could drive on Bicaz Chei... a twisty road resembling Transfagarasan road... that road leeds to the Red Lake... the only natural dam lake in Romania... there you can take a boat on the lake and see the hundreds of tree stomps sticking out of the water... those were created when the lake was created in 1837... when a masive land slide blocked the river Bicaz...(the river not town)... I tell you that whole area is great to visit... hope you guys have the best of times... cheers...
Wow....! So niceee....l like this kind of place!! The drone view makes it all the more beautiful!
What a beautiful place ..so different from s.east asia
Romania in terms of views is Switzerland without the high cost :P
Beautiful ! What a view!
Great view!🔥🔥🔥
You guys have to visit Cheile bicazului and lacul roșu. The views there are just amazing
"La Bunica" is the equivalent of "At Grandma's", also the size of the mici in our country is actually average and they got a really good personality😂
The view its so poetic. And your loyalty to mici is so admirable
Mayor of Bicaz should watch this video and take this as a slogan for foreign tourists :D
"Why this place?
BICAZ it's beautiful!"
Wow guys, the place is very nice.
Only watched 2 min.. Speechless.. love you
I love your energy ❤
The best part of mici is you guys trying them and telling the world about them and of course Romania... I'm glad you came back... I hope you have a great time
Great video guys, as always! once again, thank you very much for putting Romania on the map. The views are amazing! Shoutout to Bogdan! (that's my name too🙂) Take care and enjoy Moldova!
P.S.: It was such a surprise to see you went to Bicaz, I am going there in November. I cannot wait! 😁
You guys are wonderful❤
He understood the feeling. Such a magical place. ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing this. Have a nice trip!
Thank you for the beautiful video.
Hello! I am delighted to see that you like that place so much.. Bicaz is the place where I grew up. I, for my part, enjoyed that wonderful parafis enormously and I still enjoy it every time I have the opportunity , I don't live there, but I wish with all my heart to return to live in that wonderful place where my grandparents lived! I've been following you for a while and I'm glad you chose Romania to visit the wonderful places! I hope you continue to enjoy the wonderful places of Romania! I follow you with pleasure!
6 stars travel vloggers...the best.
Omg I love your video! I am from Bicaz as well. I grew up with that gorgeous view for 11 years. I go back every three years and I love it! Very soon I’m going back to Romania with my husband and he is super excited. Thank you for an amazing video from my hometown!

La bunica means “ At grandma’s “ thank you for sharing such beautiful videos about Romania. This country it is indeed very beautiful and no many people know that.
man, even romanians don't love the mici as much as you do !! :))))
I'm Romanian and I didn't know what a beautiful place you are discovering I like to thank you for all your work ❤️
*WONDERFUL !!! Bunica = grandmother ! Bicaz Hydrocentral for electric power , is one of the biggest in the world ! The view from the dam is fantastic too !*
I left my hometown Iași, the most beautiful city in Romania for this village, wich is opposite the lake, called Grințieș.
There are some decent prices for old traditional houses. You just need to look for. But better buy the land, and you can build it. All the best guys, and i m happy for what you doing!
Hello,
I live near this place and until I saw this vlog I didn't realize where I live... congratulations for this video, i subscribed you 😊
Good luck buddy very nice country, enjoy
You need to write "the book of mici" - both of you are amazing. Even us, Romanian people maybe we don't know so many thing about Mici ! You are from now on the King of Romanian Mici ! I realy appreciate your work, amazing job ! You are so funny and natural ! You should discover the Praid Cave !
Very close to my home 😊 ... La Bunica means At Grandma (house)
Great video 🐉
Foarte Bine!!!!!.
Where you filmed the cows grazing, all the place was flooded 25 - 30 years ago, it was called Lake's Tail!
Wonderful and funny as always😊
My Grandfather was one of the engineers that built the Hydroelectric dam in Bicaz........my father was borne there.....!!!!
Hey! I'm Romanian and yeah I agree that the last bite of mici is the best one! 😁😁
By the way you should visit if you got the opportunity Cheile Bicazului or Fundata ! Fundata is pretty the same "swiss" vibe :D
PS: Keep it up and you should know that you are the most appreciated vloggers that are traveling in Romania! Love ya ❤
