Our Romanian road trip continues...we went to one of the most recommended places to visit by our subscribers: Bicaz Gorge (Cheile Bicazului), and Red Lake (Lacul Rosu). We drove on a road that cuts through mountains, connecting Moldova and Transylvania. Check out our vlog.

@@dhanyrafael Well, it's more of a mix of modernity and doing some things the old-fashioned way! Same for the culture there - I am a bit biased as I live in some nearby village but mountains and mountain people are always the BEST! No matter if it's part of Transylvania or not (people tend to class all mountain stuff as Transylvania).

be careful with palinca :D in Romania any blood alcohol level above 0.0 is considered a crime. Driving with a blood alcohol level above 0.08 is a felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment.
You are one seriously optimistic dude and it's infectious. Great love you show for Romania, possibly the most underrated country in the world - nobody knows about it! Our 10 day Transylvanian road-trip last summer was unbelievable.

I know you've been told before, but I want to stress out: do not drink and drive in Romania as there are lots of police filters and you will lose your permit and even go to jail if caught. Just drink in the evening when you won't drive anymore. Even if it's just a beer. And you should do the same everywhere, drinking should never ever be mixed with driving. Other than that, great images, I will add this part to my Romania trip, it's kind of far from my city but looks gorgeous :)
In some countries you're allowed to drink and drive, not a lot but one beer or two are legal. A guy from Switzerland asked me about the alcohol limit and when i told him 0 he was really surprised :))

That honey you first picked up Ivana, is very good, the one that said "miere cu cătină". "Cătină" is sea buckthorn fruit and it's full of vitamin C and antioxidants. It's great for when you have the flu.
Hello guys! You can also visit the south -west side of Romania such as Cazanele Dunarii , Decebalus statue and the whole Danube area there which is such an amazing place , also the cities of Craiova , the capital of Oltenia region with alot of museums and one of the bigest parks in Europe and Targu -Jiu , the city of one of the most famous sculpture artist Constantin Brancusi. I hope you see my comment and take that in mind. Enjoy u're stay here in Romania and good luck!

There is a more accessible road to the observation deck in front of the Lacu Rosu hotel. About 300 meters through the forest🙂

Now, you reached all these wonderful places, i love too. But please, don't make too much comparisons, what is the most beautiful or maybe less........for me, Transylvania is a total work of art, created by somebody with a sense of exclusive beauty.

The roundabout just works and I'm happy we see more and more here in Romania. There's also the reality that Europeans are generally better drivers than North Americans who don't know how to handle and get confused by roundabouts.

Lacul Roșu, Lacul Bicaz beautiful sights all next to my home city. I will always remember the nice roads between the cliffs next to lacul Roșu and the nice cruises I had on bicaz. Very nice to see foreigners there where I was..

Kürtőskalács is not deemed as cozonac... the Hungarian cozonac is Baigli... at least that I know of...
@@m0t0b33 yes, right...but, in these regions of transylvania the hungarian minority of romania has one word for all of these. and that is kalács. chimney cake is Kürtős - kalács , poppy seed/wallnut roll is mákos/diós - kalács or bejgli ( romanian cozonac), braided yeast bread is fonott - kalács

@@m0t0b33 anyways.. i'm just trying to inform them why they find so many hungarian food served by hungarian speaking folks in romania. people in the region dont like to be called romanian. 100 years ago, hungary has been reshaped without taking in consideration how many ppl will find themselves as minorities of other countries, overnight.

@@iuliancatalinradu782 sorry, but it is incomaprable. Hun ancestors cant be hold accountable for what they did a thousand years ago.. back in the days when everything was in constant change. But you can be for what yours did "just the other day". Transylvania was a rich place in every sense..yes, culturally too. Everyone had its place.. but look over the last 100 year.. and you will see ruins and ppl systemstically kept poor by bucharest politics.
One tried to keep everyone rich/grow while the other took the exact oposite way. Thats the difference and truth my friend.

last time I bought langos, it was around 3-4 lei (years ago). damn. I gotta get one these days...or call my grandma.
To reiterate what others expressed: DO. NOT. DRINK. AND. DRIVE. If you get caught, you'll have your licence suspended (possibly seized). Moreover, in case of accidents, the drunk driver(anything over 0,00) is found guilty, even if not at fault. It's not worth it...
Bonus: if you get found by breath tests and you know you have not drunk (maybe you had rum candies or just a sip of something) ASK FOR BLOOD TEST. But only if you are sure you'll have no alcohol in blood.

Beautiful places !You must visit the city RM. VALCEA, where there are many treatment and rest resorts,many monasteries ( Olanesti, Calimanesti Caciulata , Govora ) , beautiful mountain area !

PS: Try not to drink for a while before driving and stay safe! Here it's a little different than usa I believe: 'the right to drive on public roads will be suspended for 90 days. If we have an alcohol blood level higher than 0.40 mg/liter of alcohol in the exhaled air, we are talking about a crime.'

Am so happy you guys visited this place, I am Romanian but my family lives in a small mountain village (we are modernising the house at the moment) and we are around an hour drive away from there! I'll definitely go and give it another look but the views here are not bad at all :)

You are right about the sugar and fat in the Romanian food 😁, as a Romanian living in Canada I find the cakes/sweets to have so much more sugar that I am used to and I live here of 13 years and still can't get used to.
I liked everything but the soviet building you checked in. As a former communist country, we do have a lot of soviet buildings such as the one you slept in. Anyway , the scenery was absolutely fantastic , the food was also delicious and I could bet that the the people were really friendly to you. Transylvania is a country within a country , I'm glad that you like it. Cheers!

You guys should have know that Lacul Rosu have the best Kurtos in all Romania, they just on another level!..
