Oh Kathryn, I hope these gifts show you how loved you are by all of us!!!!💗
Absolutely Michelle, thank you so much 😊
Not only do you always share wonderful things with us, you nearly always make me chuckle - and I thank you so much for that, life desperately needs laughter 💚
Yes we do Nancy, I am happy to make you chuckle. Much love ❤️❤️❤️
‘They boil, they iron, they dry clean’, Oh I positively snorted with laughter 😂
I know! Hilarious. I think I will put them in a journal on their card. Such superhero buttons deserve to be honoured 😂❤️
Kathryn, you have been blessed. What lovely gifts! I know you will create so magic with them❤️
Thank you 😊
Overwhelming! The beauty of so many treasures. Oh goodness, you’re well loved dear Kathryn. Thank you so very much for sharing all these gifts and your ideas of how you may use them. I look forward to see some again transformed in your beautiful works. xo
I am so blessed Janet ❤️
In case you ever consider starting a b & b or creative campside you know we are all coming to stay with you (and bring even more gifts)! So lovely to see all these treasures that were obviously gifted to you with much love and appreciation. Beautiful happy birthday bouquet painting!💖🍀
Thank you Machteld, you would all be very welcome, even without gifts ❤️
Hi Kathryn. I liked to hear you speak to yourself ... so I know I'm not the only one who does it 😊
What fun this is - watching you go through all these wonderful gifts and listening to you comment about each of them. A gift to you, but a virtual gift to us! Such wonderful gifts, but also lovely generous friends - the true gift🌷🌷🌷
Absolutely Meri, the items are beautiful but the giving and sharing is wonderful ❤️
Such a delightful stash of goodies. So very generous of your wonderful friends. They will surely rejoice in seeing the gorgeous creations you make with them ❤
I hope so Rose ❤️
The times that coincide with my thinking are remarkable. I am going to make something to honour all my maiden great aunts who led me on my life's journey. They sent hand made gifts wrapped in old Fortnum and Mason boxes. My dolls were always attired in the best. Enough for the moment..... Thank you all. ❤
How lovely ❤️
Thank you for sharing all these wonderful treasures with us Kathryn! They are special, and so are you!❤
My pleasure Vivian and thank you ♥️
Thankyou for sharing your precious gifts with all of us. And a thankyou to you for your wonderful cloth tales .
My pleasure Theresa ❤️
How wonderful, shows you just how much you are appreciated x
That was wonderful seeing all those pretty things. I love them all. Your subbie know what you love ! !💚🧡💜
They certainly do I am so lucky ♥️
What lovely, thoughtful gifts Kathryn! We are part of such a generous and giving community.
Can’t wait to see “what they may become”.
Thanks for showing us ❤
My pleasure Ellen, indeed we are ❤️
So many wonderful treasures, this is better than Christmas! My sister has a RUclips channel (craftycat) and does junk journaling. She found an Edith Holden book one year and I was so sad about the possibility of her taking it apart that she gave it to me as a birthday present.😢❤
That was so lovely of her. I am not going to do anything with it in a hurry, and I will certainly do some research first to see how many there are in the world. 😉❤️
It's so interesting how a book can talk. I found an Edith Holden book (for junk journal making) but just couldn't start cutting. The book said "no cutting!" Then I found another, with a second book of hers, in a wool shop. I bought both and (shockingly . . . ) deconstructed them as soon as I got home, before I talked myself into holding onto all four books!
@@gillianedwards5667 I did do some research and there are millions of them in the world, in fact it still seems to in print so I expect I will 'remake' it one of these days 😁❤️
What lovely things people gave you, You are LOVED! 💜💜💜💜💜
I feel it ❤️❤️❤️
it's a little chilly here this morning so I am putting off leaving my cosy warm bed. So I thought I would check in and see what delectable wonders you were sharing and I feel totally blissed after watching you unwrap your beautiful and thoughtful treasures. Far better than Christmas morning in my book. Now I feel ready to put my toes to my wooden floors and start into my day, after a coffee of course, and getting out of my pj's. I might even attempt my version of your Log Cabin from Wonky Wednesday. Take good care Kathryn. I love how you find joy in the simple things.
And in reverse again, I already know you had a good day stitchwise 😁😁♥️
This video was such a delight to watch & listen to xx You are going to have the time of your life with all those goodies, you were spoiled rotten for your birthday & you deserve it, for all the joy you keep giving us xxxx🇦🇺😎😍
Thank you Pauline, I am very lucky ♥️
What a heart warming video! Thank you everyone! I must own up here and say that neither Tina or I made that most wonderful piece of cloth! I hope you can find out who did. ❤
Thank you Sparks, then I think it was from Sue who gave me the scissors. Thank you again for the lovely card ♥️
Beautiful treasures, well deserved. I was oohing and aahing right along with you. The wooden spools particularly appeal. (And I loved your phrase "a small male person".) ❤
Hello Jill they are fabulous aren't they ❤️
What a lovely presents.
You are loved by so many. Thank you for sharing❤
Thank you Judy ♥️
OMG that Holden book!! What a gift. My friend has the book and she has copied pages and given them to me. She also could not bare to tear it. I think I would have to find one that was falling apart and missing pages before I could use it. I have an old garden book and I sewed or clipped things into it and turned the whole book into a junk journal without cutting it up.
Yes, it's wonderful. I am going to do some research and see how many there are in the world. Copying parts of it and keeping it intact is another option. ❤️
I love all your gifts and finds but especially the wooden spools. I collect them to hold the crochet lace I make out of vintage threads. And of course the meditation scrolls.
Yes I think it's about time I made another meditation scroll. ❤️
Aero, I’ve knitting needles made by that company. They did patterns too I seem to remember.
Loved seeing all these beauties😍😀
Yes, I think I have some too, that were my Auntie Lily's who taught me to knit ♥️
The calico peice looks like a triangle bandage from a 1st aide kit. They are folded down to a 2x3 inch little square to fit in the kit.
Oh thank you, that makes sense ♥️
Hi K3n, it’s rather thrilling to see work I have done on screen 😊 I wrapped the purple shibori round your snippy snippies, not being able to find any gift wrap! And, I still can’t remember where those pesky car keys are, fortunately my husband is much more disciplined and hangs his set up, so I know where to filch them. Thoroughly enjoyed your run-through of your goodies.
Oh thank you Sue, it was lovely gift wrap and I am still thrilled with and very protective of my snippy snippy fiskars 😁♥️
Oh Kathryn, you always make me laugh about something in your videos. What fun to go through all of these lovely gifts with you. I can't wait to see what you make with them. That printed silk velvet is to die for! ❤
Isn't it? It will make a beautiful cushion ❤️
Such thoughtful treasures shared amongst friends from afar. We have such a wonderful stitchy community for sure. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Hello Christine, we do indeed ❤️
Thank you so much sharing all of the beautiful gifts. If those buttons do actually iron, please share the link because I must have some. 😂😉 ❤
You'll be the first to know 😂❤️
Beautiful treasures! 🥰😊
Wow - the ultimate unboxing video! What lovely things. Thank you for sharing 💟
My pleasure Mary 😊
I should not say this but I am very envious of all the beautiful things you are showing. I have never seen anything like what you are showing us here in New Zealand, you are going to have a wonderful time with everything you have. I will look forward in the future to see what you do with your lovely collection.Bless you.
Hello Mary, thank you, I am very lucky 😊
Hi Mary - yes it is all here in NZ, but you find it little by little as you super-sleuth the op shops. I began many years ago so have had a head start as I loved all things vintage. Can you PM me please?
Hi Kerikerin, I have been watching a few videos on slow stitching and thought it looked interesting but I am 90 years old I think it would take me awhile to catch on. I have been quilting for about 30 years so I have a few quilts and a couple of wall hangings to finish so I don’t think I will really be able to do much slow stitching. Although thinking about it I have been slow stitching for sometime as I do all my quilting by hand one stitch at a time. Thank you for replying to my comment. Regards Mary.
@@marysharp6366 hello Mary, as an experienced quilter, you will absolutely be able to slow stitch ♥️
@@marysharp6366 ps hand quilting, one stitch at a time is a kind of slow stitch ♥️
Wow, im sure it'll feel like Christmas for everyone who sees this vlog. Thank you for showing us. So pleased for you 😊
Thank you Anna ❤️
Lovely treasure! You have such great, thoughtful friends! Especially the little drawstring bag with beads and buttons really inspired me to start making Christmas gifts in that manner already 😂
I am very lucky and how unbelievably organised of you to be thinking about Christmas presents in July 😂❤️
So much fun seeing these lovely gifts. 🎁🎀 I must go through all my things. My Mother had crocheted a tablecloth together from curtains during WW2 when she was a young teenager in Germany. There is sooo much history to fabric. Thank you again. 🙏👍🧵🪡
Absolutely, the stories cloth can tell indeed. ❤️
Hiya K3n😊,thankyou for sharing your gifts with us!My eldest granddaughter also had her birthday on 3rd June! The youngest has hers on 3rd December. Love the buttons that boil, iron,& dry clean! Your sense of humour and tangential thoughts keep me giggling too,as,like these treasures takes me back to fond memories that are a comefort in todays mad world😂 Wishing you and everyone, good health, safety and contentment. Julia, Brisbane, Australia ❤ 🇦🇺 😀 🪃 x
Thank you Julia for those lovely wishes. Tell your granddaughter that 3rd June is the best day for a birthday 😁❤️
@@k3n.clothtales 😄💛
I love all your treasures! Normally I don’t care to watch these type of ‘unpacking’ videos but this one grabbed me and I fell down the hole with you.
I’m not envious… I have many similar beautiful things … I’m not even compelled to go hunting for more. I feel as though I just felt & experienced all the things with you…odd… did you know I was sitting beside you the whole time??
Thanks for sharing
Hello Jayne, that is a lovely thought that you were sitting beside me ❤️
That was absolutely mesmerising to watch k3n I got an enormous amount of vicarious pleasure seeing each treasure revealed! Big love as always from Scotland ❤🐶
Thank you Margaret, I am so pleased you enjoyed it, love to you and Oscar ❤️
I’m so amazed at all the lovely gifts you have shared with us. When you ran your hands through the buttons it brought me back to my childhood. My Mom had a large button tin and I remember spending hours running my fingers through it, that might be why I continue to collect all types of buttons. I also inherited my Godmothers crocheted mikasa’s, never knew what they were called I just remember them being pinned on the back of the couch and chairs in her “parlor”
There is indeed something wonderful about buttons, they are like little jewels ❤️
Lovely goodies to play with … so kind of some of your followers to gift you with such yummy supplies.
I totally know how you feel when you talk about running hands through buttons. I keep mine in either a qt size mason jar or a cookie tin, and could sit for hours running my fingers through the buttons and beads. It’s almost as calming to me as your lovely wittering ❤❤❤ 😉.
I’ve finished a Kawandi I made with some lovely Moda French General Antionette fabric and made a rice bag as a gift bag for the quilt. Lovely fabric, but has a high thread count, and I was getting a little “jelly” with all your older, open woven fabrics.
Now that THAT project is over, I can’t wait to get back into your weeklies - think I left off with the leaves.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with, with all of these lovely treasures.
I think that I’m going to have to come over to the UK for some of these vintage/antique shops, because I can’t for the life of me find such nice things here in the Midwest USA.
Ok, 4:36 am, have to take my furbaby to the vet in the am … which is only a couple of hours away so should be off to catch some ZZZzzz’s.
❤❤
I hope you slept well and the fur baby is ok. How wonderful to make a rice bag for the kawandi . I hope you enjoy catching up on the weekly projects ❤️
Oh dear... Walter and Frankie are no more...🐶😅 I couldn't help but comment straight away 👍
They were lovely treasure Kathryn. All those lovely buttons and old fabric... Delicious!
Happy birthday for back in June 🎂☺️
Thank you Marion. Sadly the other three have since met the same fate. 😂 I just can't resist chocolate. ❤️❤️❤️
I am beginning to think differently about all the lace and tatting and drawn thread work I have stashed away. I felt I should give it away but am now seeing how I might use it. Takes me back through all the diff types of button, cloth handkerchiefs etc I have somewhere. Wonderful.
That's good to hear. I think unless things have real sentimental or historical value, it's so lovely to use them to create other things. There is so much stuff in the world. ❤️
Treasure trove!! Oh, my goodness. How lovely for so many lovely people to show you in these ways how much you mean to so many of us. Happy today, k3n.
Thanks so much Kate, happy today to you too ❤️
Your idea to remake/recreate the Edith Holden book reminded me of the piece of music by Max Richter where he recomposed Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The first movement is called Spring 1. I heard par of it on Desert Island Discs just over a week ago, chosen by the gardener and writer Sue Raven.
Thank you Nina, I haven't listened to Desert Island Discs for a while, I must catch up. ❤️
Oh what wonderfully gifts...Kathryn...enjoy them all and yes a must to show every button and bead...my goodness..you sound like me..this would be great for a journal , in a journal, around a journal , over and under a journal...., e😂
I am a bit obsessed with journals 😁 I have two in progress here with my friend, one using her techniques, one using mine. ❤️
Wonderful !! all these treasures: lace, beautiful fabrics, old buttons... very pretty, I really like them! I think we'll have to look in flea markets or at Emmaüs!! ❤️ well done! 👍
You will find wonderful things in France Houria ❤️

Hello Hülya, thank you no I haven't visited Turkey though a friend of mine did many years ago and said it's a very beautiful country ❤️
What absolutely gorgeous gifts you had Kathryn and thank you for sharing. I would like to say that Diane is a very special lady ❤
She is indeed ❤️
Listening and watching you share your treasures was the best treat!!! I felt like I was observing your birthday party and was waiting for the cake to be served. So many beautiful cloths, papers, buttons, beads, trims, and chocolate! I felt your delight and joy and experienced moments of pure envy (in a good way). I feel certain we all will see what you create with these beauties in the future. I hope you never stop sharing yourself and your creativity. Kisses and huggs!💞
Hello Susan, I look forward to using these precious things and I will certainly share with you all when I do. Much love ❤️

It has been wonderful to watch you share your Birthday goodies.❤ such treasures.
Glad you enjoyed it Pam ❤️
Thank you, I enjoyed that very much. Made even more exciting by unwrapping a piece of old quilt (I just received in the post) at the same time.
How lovely ❤️
Wow! What a treasure trove that you have! Good for you! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us. 🎁
My pleasure Ann 😊

Fabulous birthday 🎂 presents. Thanks for showing us. ❤
My pleasure, thank you for watching ❤️
I felt a bit shocked that you had the courage to eat Walter and Frankie…😢 I’m here crying for them…😢 I’m sure their friends are crying too 😢and trembling in fear each time you touch the box 😱… because they know they’re going to have dreadful end 😭😭😭😭

Very well deserved 🩵♥️💛💚💙🩶🤎💜❤️🩷🧡

💕💕what a beautiful treasurey of lovely and thoughtful gifts💕💕 You truly are loved by so many. I know your heart is full♥️ Thank you so much for sharing. Sending love and best wishes also🥰
My pleasure and thank you. Much love to you ❤️
Hi K3n. That wonderful piece of dyed cloth was not from us. Love tina and sparks. X
Hello Tina, thank you I think maybe it was from Sue who gave me the scissors then, I wasn't sure! Thank you again for your beautiful card ♥️
What beautiful treasure given to a worthy recipient and like minded soul. I have a life times collection of such finds but perhaps that’s too extreme ….too late now at 65 🙄
Thank you Susan ❤️
Lovely gifts Kathryn ❤ Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure 😊
Wonderful treasures!
Love the sound of the buttons Kathryn! I have recently got digital hearing aids and I can listen to music and your RUclips videos through them without anyone realising! (Much better than ear pods!) and the sounds of the buttons and rustling of cellophane are amazing!
Loving all your gifts ❤
I think my friend has those and says they are brilliant. I am glad you enjoyed the button and cellophane sounds, I am sometimes worried that it's amplified by the microphone and is disturbing. Much love ❤️
You’re up early Kathryn . I always wonder how you manage to look at all the posts now you have such a huge following. Do look after yourself. Thank you for all your marvellous inspirational videos. Much love back to you 💕
Such beautiful goodies but I particularly liked the little red drawstring bag. Was the base made of a yoyo with a button in the centre. Just so sweet.
Yes it was, such a lovely idea isn't it? ❤️
A dragon's treasure!
Lucky you to get spoils, so hard to find here in SA
That’s Cotswold locks from the sheep.
Thank you ♥️
We had similar pieces to your antimacassar, especially for jerri curls ...😂I have a reputation for overloading tin boxes like Diane's box of joy! Beauiful shares and very inspirational!
Thank you Renee ☺️
Do you have an address (in France), so we can send you more gifts? Or was that only possible when you were in England?
Hello Inge that is very kind of you, but really not necessary thank you ♥️
Mushroom prints? On the paper?
Maybe, I am not sure. The circles have a raised texture rather than being sunk into the paper. ❤️
