Thank you, I agree entirely. 6024 has proven to be a reliable performer in the past few years, and has rescued many excursions (after all the failures due to the air brake pump!)
Two fantastic shots James, all whistles in the first and all speed in the second =D From what I've seen so far she performed flawlessly throughout the day. Saw her at Highworth Junction on the outward run and Swindon Station on the return.
Superb filming. Great to see a 60xx King in full flight on Brunel's wonderful railway line. A like from me. As a foot-note I filmed the return run, at Acton. The King was pretty slow as it was close on a Heathrow Connect service train. Barry
Thanks Kristian. The Taplow clip was edited greatly, as there was a small family right next to the camera. I had to cut that shot down to the bare minimum. 6024 looked and sounded healthy, and one could probably mistake her at times for an engine that is ex-works. Hopefully, I will be capturing her over the Devon Banks next weekend with 60163. Got a bit day of chasing ahead (starting at Crofton and working my way down to Hemerdon in the afternoon - hopefully!)
Thank you for commenting. A real shame, as I would've liked to say farewell to her on her natural stomping ground. Lets hope she is back in action soon.
Thanks for commenting. Slightly mis-leading title I suppose, no not being scrapped, just a heavy overhaul. What I meant by 6024's last run over the GWML is it is supposed to be the last run (by 6024) before Network Rail put up the overhead system and electrify the route. By the time the King returns, a lot of the line will probably be under wires.

Again, thanks Barry. 6024 was in full flight, just a shame I never saw much of her on the GWML, as I was normally at work when she was running!
Very nice. I was at Didcot and got some great shots of both the outwards and inwards journeys :)
Very nice, motoring King! Some good spots for the action, love the last going away shot, Clag!! At least 6 *
They liked 'whistle-ing' through the stations I suppose. Langley the same... Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Andrei for commenting. I was pre-occupied looking out for a friend on the train, so missed the fireman when there.
Majestic sight at Burnham with the fireman holding on to his Hat.
Thanks Keith for your comments.
Thanks for commenting Andy. Will keep an eye out for your video.
