I must say your tutorials are the best ones for actually understanding how 3ds max works as a complete beginner and you explain it in a way that it actually makes sense! Thank you so much for creating this content and putting effort into it! Most of the other ones explain it just in a way if u follow certain steps - u get this result, without actually explaining the core of the steps/process. With your tutorials you actually learn how to use the tools, rather than how to do certain product/get certain result. Once again, thanks a lot, you saved my day! (or more of a one-month project :D) Looking forward to more 3dsmax tutorials!
Been working with Max as an exhibition designer for about 7 years now and I still picked up a few little tricks from this video, so thanks for that. Never had the time to model a chair (we download them for time saving purposes), but it was interesting to see the process. Will come in handy at some point I’m sure. Great video!
Pls I'd need your contact, I work in an exhibition company in the past and I've loved to learn modeling for exhibition, booth deign, lockable, chairs fascia board etc
This is so helpful! I have been following along step by step, pausing every few seconds. I'm completely new and this is so easy to listen to! You are a great teacher, I'm so happy!!
That's awesome, I'm glad you're finding it useful :) Max can bit a bit challenging to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very easy and intuitive!
Been searching for some tutorials on 3ds max and came across yours. Honestly, straight forward and informative description of what you are doing in the scene. So helpful! It might be 2024, but these are still hugely accurate. Thanks bro! You are an absolute artist!
This tutorial is very good and the way you captured/made it was so natural. So even though it's old and you probably won't see this but still; thank you for this video. I learned a lot and I'll continue to watch other videos of yours and learn more.
That's great to hear that you found the tutorial to be helpful!! Thanks for the kind words! I'll hopefully get back into making more tutorials in the future :)
For anyone that can't see a material in viewport, click on display properties tab and select shaded material color. This drove me crazy for couple hours before I found out.
I've been searching hours for a good 3ds max tutorial, I need to have a 5 story tower rendered for tomorrow lol Your vids saved me, thanks much. Cheers
Very nice tutorial. As a complete beginner I found this super helpful and his way of explaining was very clear, concise and easy to follow. Will definitely be watching more.
@@alexas8787 Many people in the industry use C4D and Houdini, Blender is definitely becoming a contender. Max is still very common in the VFX and ArchViz industries, and with the addition of TyFlow, it's become even more powerful. In my opinion, most of these software do similar things, and it's up to you to decide which is most intuitive, etc.
Your basic and crash tutorials are one of the BEST on YT Man! Period! I'd like so much something like that about the Material Editor (covering UV mapping, shaders, diplacement, bump... etc) and something about the render settings (wich one use... drivers setting... hardware and the relation between the renderer and some special materials). Whit your teaching approach... i know i'll can understand the easy way all the potential of those tools.
Thanks for your feedback! I've made a new tutorial which focuses on materials! It's pretty rudimentary, but I walk through creating all sorts of different materials, render settings, etc. I'm uploading it tonight!
@@simulation_lab "rudimentary" is the key-word Man! I'm an old T-Rex using 3d modeler just for my fun (and maybe for 3d printing in a near future... just watchin now!). I started with the old DOS 3D Studio and in the time many and many features and tools (one time as $$$ plugins) are now tools and sub-tools inside the progz! But while the power of the prog is now top-notch... the deductivity of the GUI is about ZERO! Also some tools names are counter-deductive end even the things they do are far from what one can imagine (apologize for my crap english man... i'm italian... ya know... italians do other things "better"... but not speaking english! ;-) ). So... that said... your tutarial approach ("rudimentary" as you say) tame down the overstratificated complexity of the GUI... making the progz usable again even for the not professionals! So tnx so much Man for sharing your time, knowledge and kindness!
OH MY GOD!! THIS IS SO MINDBLOWING!! i've received 3ds max lecture in college but seeing this, i think i really missed out on a lot of basic stuff. Thank you very muuuch :D
What you are doing with the chair .. i totally do that too ... but to get the scaling right i usually check to see the dimensions of the picture how many pixels by how many pixels and use those numbers as sizes for the plane, that way i am certain the scale is perfect.
41:50 I usually make the plane as big as the image, I put in the exact resolution of the photo and then scale it down to how much I need, this way you don't need to guess the scale
I agree! Once you learn 3ds Max, it's easy to recognize similar tools in other 3D software. 3ds Max has most of the same tools as Blender and Cinema 4D, even Houdini. You'd just have to learn the UI of those softwares, how to access/use the tools in those softwares, and you're good to go!
I'm not sure about tNice tutorials, but if you wanna fix it open GMS. Then in the GMS, there's a light blue screen with a lot of buttons and other stuff.
THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL. Please, The DISPLAY CORRECTION under the Layer panel in my Vray Frame Buffer is not showing, Please help me fix this. Thank you.
Thank you for this! As a "self taught" blender-user I have issues finding my way in 3ds. Really can't understand how Autodesk is so bad at doing user friendly programs, learning curve is massive. (CAD-user 10 years ago, max looks much like it even today)
I've used 3D Max v3.0 .. holy jesus!! I'm backing in the game.. Being a developer right now.. But I'll come back to 3d (and gaming) industry.. fuck it.
Your compact material editor window looks different to mine. Yours shows "Shader Basic Parameters" and "Blinn Basic Parameters" but mine shows "Presets" and simply "Basic Parameters" - I can't see a diffuse option anywhere.
Amazing bro. Im very new to this but Its super helpful video. Understandable and clear. A lot of information coming my way so Ill be coming back to this video couple of more times for sure. THANK YOU
Pretty cool tutorial. Question, and this should probably be simple, but I can't see how to do it. How do I create a 3D hexagon? The Hedra doesn't appear to have that option.
I'm using a desktop machine with a bunch of graphics cards, but you can model with 3ds max on most laptops that have a good graphics card and preferably over 8gb of ram. Depending on your budget, I'd recommend checking out the Razer laptops. I've been thinking about getting one myself, as they're very powerful and relatively inexpensive.
Thanks! That’s the Phoenix FD plug-in tool bar. It’s for fluid dynamics simulations. I use it all the time, so I’ll eventually make a few tutorials on it.
Hello sir thank you for this amazing work. just have one question what happened in 57:19 minute? apparently some merging happened but how? thank you again
Thanks! I do have a materials crash course video, but I don't think I covered water. I've been planning a short series of videos on using Phoenix FD for fluid sims, and I will be sure to cover some general render settings for water!

GOD I thought I was done for, my professor cant't explain anything. I can finally catch up
My school is using screen capture from when the Zoomed everything during Covid then uploaded in 720. Can't see any text.
You've made these concepts so much clearer than school. You've saved me from falling behind.
That's great to hear! I'm glad you found the tutorial to be helpful!

Honestly once explained it's fairly intuitive. Thank you for breaking it down so nicely for us newbies! Can't wait to play with the full version

The world is a great place with the teachers like you 😊✌️❤️
Thanks so much man, means a lot! I'm glad you found this to be helpful!
you're better than official page of 3dmax not drowning us with advance details . in the right sequence it easier to learn

Awesome! Thanks man! I'm glad you found it helpful. I'm currently uploading a new tutorial which focuses on materials and basic render settings. :)
How do you not have more subs? Your videos are super detailed and well explained.
Because people are moving to Blender...
Thanks! I don't promote my tutorials all that much, it's mainly just for fun, and for my own future reference in case I forget things, lol.

Was it just me? After adjusting the mesh lines for 2-3 hours my eyes felt really tired and I am using The grey material… any advice ?
Оставлю комментарий на русском, просто чтобы ты удивился))
Потрясающее видео и очень понятная подача информации! Спасибо! 💜
Thank you for the useful video. Do you have any tutorial about using Lumion?
is this different than 2022 version?
Do you have any advise for anyone getting back into 3ds max after 10 years? I'm wanting to use it for modeling / 3D printing.
Excellent video! Very clear instructions :)
Thanks!!
It's a very good tutorial.
Pretty cool tutorial. Question, and this should probably be simple, but I can't see how to do it. How do I create a 3D hexagon? The Hedra doesn't appear to have that option.
The hedra is is for more complex geometry, so for a simple hexagon, you can try using a cylinder and set it to have 6 sides.
was a life-saver. Thanks a lot.
Thank you so so much!! This video is a blessing
beginners. Thank you so much! x

Great video! Quick question: What is the plugin on the bottom row of your toolbar?
Thanks! That’s the Phoenix FD plug-in tool bar. It’s for fluid dynamics simulations. I use it all the time, so I’ll eventually make a few tutorials on it.
Do you know how to work in Sketchup and if you do is it worth learning? Can you do tutorials for Sketchuo
Your so detailed ! SUBBED
Thank you!!!

Do you use 3ds max for animation or for internal design or something else?

Have you done any videos on rendering water? ( not fluid sim )
Plane vs Solid? Material etc..
Thanks! I do have a materials crash course video, but I don't think I covered water. I've been planning a short series of videos on using Phoenix FD for fluid sims, and I will be sure to cover some general render settings for water!

How do you draw lines perfectly parallel to x y z ordinates? Is there a key I should hold down?
Incredible 🔥
It's so simple yet so complicated, it's perfect lmao
Amazing tutorial. Thank you very much!
