- Have you ever wanted to learn to make your own 3D models? Do you think the software is too complicated and scary? Well, this tutorial is meant to bash your way through the learning curve of one of the most complex 3D softwares around: 3ds MAX! It's surprisingly simple, once you get the hang of it!
After this tutorial, you'll gain the foundation you'll need to 3D model just about anything. Many 3D artists around the globe earn a living by creating 3D models for games, movies, architecture and product renderings, and more! So it's a great skill to have, even if you want to experiment and make your own 3D art to share with your friends on Instagram ;)
If you haven't done so, check out the "3ds Max Beginner Crash Course" video here:
• 3DS MAX TUTORIAL: Begi...
I'll continue this beginner series with a video on basic render setup for lighting, texturing, and cameras. Also, we will take a deep dive into rigging and animation techniques in future videos to come.
Here's a link to download the 3ds Max file from this tutorial:

Thanks for watching!!!
GOD I thought I was done for, my professor cant't explain anything. I can finally catch up
My school is using screen capture from when the Zoomed everything during Covid then uploaded in 720. Can't see any text.
Honestly once explained it's fairly intuitive. Thank you for breaking it down so nicely for us newbies! Can't wait to play with the full version
I must say your tutorials are the best ones for actually understanding how 3ds max works as a complete beginner and you explain it in a way that it actually makes sense! Thank you so much for creating this content and putting effort into it!
Most of the other ones explain it just in a way if u follow certain steps - u get this result, without actually explaining the core of the steps/process. With your tutorials you actually learn how to use the tools, rather than how to do certain product/get certain result.
Once again, thanks a lot, you saved my day! (or more of a one-month project :D)
Looking forward to more 3dsmax tutorials!
This is so helpful! I have been following along step by step, pausing every few seconds. I'm completely new and this is so easy to listen to! You are a great teacher, I'm so happy!!
That's awesome, I'm glad you're finding it useful :) Max can bit a bit challenging to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very easy and intuitive!
Very nice tutorial. As a complete beginner I found this super helpful and his way of explaining was very clear, concise and easy to follow. Will definitely be watching more.
Awesome! Thanks man! I'm glad you found it helpful. I'm currently uploading a new tutorial which focuses on materials and basic render settings. :)
Been searching for some tutorials on 3ds max and came across yours. Honestly, straight forward and informative description of what you are doing in the scene. So helpful! It might be 2024, but these are still hugely accurate. Thanks bro! You are an absolute artist!
I'm just 7 min into the the video and I really like your energy, subbed and thank you so much, really appreciate the info you sharing :)
heeey keep making your videos, they really help me learn!
OH MY GOD!! THIS IS SO MINDBLOWING!! i've received 3ds max lecture in college but seeing this, i think i really missed out on a lot of basic stuff. Thank you very muuuch :D
You're very welcome! :)
thats an amazing tutorial!!!! you have no idea how much it helps people that its starting like me!! tnahks a lot for the great work!!!
This tutorial is very good and the way you captured/made it was so natural. So even though it's old and you probably won't see this but still; thank you for this video. I learned a lot and I'll continue to watch other videos of yours and learn more.
That's great to hear that you found the tutorial to be helpful!! Thanks for the kind words! I'll hopefully get back into making more tutorials in the future :)
Been working with Max as an exhibition designer for about 7 years now and I still picked up a few little tricks from this video, so thanks for that. Never had the time to model a chair (we download them for time saving purposes), but it was interesting to see the process. Will come in handy at some point I’m sure. Great video!
Pls I'd need your contact, I work in an exhibition company in the past and I've loved to learn modeling for exhibition, booth deign, lockable, chairs fascia board etc
Phenomenal, very encouraging, very clear, great examples, inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
really great videos bro, i just finish the begginers crash course and was great, now moving to this one, very gratefull brother!!!
Awesome dude, keep crushing it! There's some overlapping topics from the crash course, but should be a good refresher :)
Your basic and crash tutorials are one of the BEST on YT Man! Period! I'd like so much something like that about the Material Editor (covering UV mapping, shaders, diplacement, bump... etc) and something about the render settings (wich one use... drivers setting... hardware and the relation between the renderer and some special materials). Whit your teaching approach... i know i'll can understand the easy way all the potential of those tools.
Thanks for your feedback! I've made a new tutorial which focuses on materials! It's pretty rudimentary, but I walk through creating all sorts of different materials, render settings, etc. I'm uploading it tonight!
@@simulation_lab "rudimentary" is the key-word Man! I'm an old T-Rex using 3d modeler just for my fun (and maybe for 3d printing in a near future... just watchin now!). I started with the old DOS 3D Studio and in the time many and many features and tools (one time as $$$ plugins) are now tools and sub-tools inside the progz! But while the power of the prog is now top-notch... the deductivity of the GUI is about ZERO! Also some tools names are counter-deductive end even the things they do are far from what one can imagine (apologize for my crap english man... i'm italian... ya know... italians do other things "better"... but not speaking english! ;-) ). So... that said... your tutarial approach ("rudimentary" as you say) tame down the overstratificated complexity of the GUI... making the progz usable again even for the not professionals! So tnx so much Man for sharing your time, knowledge and kindness!
PS... and btw... the charming humor of your beautiful GF... (when she enter "in camera" and say "hallo!")... add that touch to the all thing! ;o))
nice work brother! it was really helpful ❤️

You're very welcome!! I'm glad you found it to be helpful!
How do you not have more subs? Your videos are super detailed and well explained.
Because people are moving to Blender...
Thanks! I don't promote my tutorials all that much, it's mainly just for fun, and for my own future reference in case I forget things, lol.
@@alexas8787 Many people in the industry use C4D and Houdini, Blender is definitely becoming a contender. Max is still very common in the VFX and ArchViz industries, and with the addition of TyFlow, it's become even more powerful. In my opinion, most of these software do similar things, and it's up to you to decide which is most intuitive, etc.
im learning a lot with your videos!!!

It's a very good tutorial.
great video
41:50 I usually make the plane as big as the image, I put in the exact resolution of the photo and then scale it down to how much I need, this way you don't need to guess the scale
Thank u!
thank you so much
Hey Thank you so much for this tutorial man! :) Also can you make a tutorial on NURBS modelling like introduction or how to make models using NURBS?
Thank you so much Sir.....
Mi like por subir sin publicidad. Gracias man.
For anyone that can't see a material in viewport, click on display properties tab and select shaded material color.
This drove me crazy for couple hours before I found out.
helpful indeed :D Nice share.
perfect 👍
followed the tutorial exactly right, but still different. Using trial version. Thank you*
cute dogs lol subscribed. please make more detailed tutorial for all features in max like uvwrap, dynamics, etc, like your style to teach
thank you i think i am ready now for my 3dmax exam tomorrow
thanks a lot
I've used 3D Max v3.0 .. holy jesus!! I'm backing in the game.. Being a developer right now.. But I'll come back to 3d (and gaming) industry.. fuck it.
Thanks
LOL someone who looks and sounds just like their name! lol it’s so perfect
Hahaha well I guess that's not such a bad thing ☺
very good
you explained to me in 120 minutes what it took my uni teachers like 20 hours worth of lessons T_T
I´m in love with tNice tutorials tutorial!!!!
Thank you for the useful video. Do you have any tutorial about using Lumion?
Awesome
U should add a loop around the chair to give the right curvature
It's so simple yet so complicated, it's perfect lmao
When u become a professional in 3dsmax u can handle any 3d softwares
I agree! Once you learn 3ds Max, it's easy to recognize similar tools in other 3D software. 3ds Max has most of the same tools as Blender and Cinema 4D, even Houdini. You'd just have to learn the UI of those softwares, how to access/use the tools in those softwares, and you're good to go!
i like you Chanel i start to learn from you thank you so much
Awesome! You're most welcome :)
Thanks so much for tNice tutorials bro
reasons, but that sticks out.
thank you sir
You're most welcome :)
What you are doing with the chair .. i totally do that too ... but to get the scaling right i usually check to see the dimensions of the picture how many pixels by how many pixels and use those numbers as sizes for the plane, that way i am certain the scale is perfect.
I took two months to learn Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro. Now I am learning soft soft to make soft so I can have more verity
cool video
thank you
You're welcome! :)
true
Work crack , thank you
