All the phase 1 movies were the gold standard and other than avengers or Captain America the quality kept and keeps declining. Funnily enough that just made me think of referring to phase 1 as the “silver age” films. I’d say golden but it feels wrong since cap is pretty much the only actual golden age character in the MCU

Never noticed this until now: Howard presents all of, what he believes, are the best shields, hiding the "prototype" Vibranium one below the others, tucked away. Steve, however, is drawn to the Vibranium shield hidden and overshadowed by the others, in the exact same way that Dr Erskine selects an underweight asthmatic to be a super soldier out of the strong and able-bodied recruits. A subtle yet clever callback to earlier in the movie.
Also make me think of the scene in Age of Ultron where they each try to pick up Thor's hammer and Steve clearly could, but to save Thor's ego he made it look like he failed, though you could tell that Thor sensed that he could have picked up the hammer and in endgame Thor says "I knew it."
Honestly they should have just said some shit like “extrenely vibration resistant” or “it absorbs or redirects an immense amount of kinetic energy”. Only sith speak in absolutes.

I didn’t appreciate this movie when l first saw it. But now I’ve seen how it all fits in the rest of the MCU I love all the references, Easter eggs and foreshadowing to future movies.
tbh I like the character design of John Walker. Sure he is hatable but there are a lot of well designed characters who people don't like and the actor did an amazing job for his role
Shields made of different materials were used depending on what was needed for the shot. Rubber shields were used for when Captain America punches people with it. For scenes where he put the shield on his back, magnets were used to keep it in place. In many of the scenes where he is seen throwing the shield, Chris Evans would mime out the actions of catching and throwing the shield, with the shield being added later, using CGI.

Howard presents all of, what he believes, are the best shields, hiding the "prototype" Vibranium one below the others, tucked away.
Steve, however, is drawn to the Vibranium shield hidden and overshadowed by the others, in the exact same way that Dr Erskine selects an underweight asthmatic to be a super soldier out of the strong and able-bodied recruits. A subtle yet clever callback to earlier in the movie.
Also make me think of the scene in Age of Ultron where they each try to pick up Thor's hammer and Steve clearly could, but to save Thor's ego he made it look like he failed, though you could tell that Thor sensed that he could have picked up the hammer and in endgame Thor says "I knew it."
I love this scene , the agression and possesiveness in peggy's eyes 😊

I didn’t appreciate this movie when l first saw it. But now I’ve seen how it all fits in the rest of the MCU I love all the references, Easter eggs and foreshadowing to future movies.

Shields made of different materials were used depending on what was needed for the shot. Rubber shields were used for when Captain America punches people with it. For scenes where he put the shield on his back, magnets were used to keep it in place. In many of the scenes where he is seen throwing the shield, Chris Evans would mime out the actions of catching and throwing the shield, with the shield being added later, using CGI.

I like how Howard stark starts to explain the shield is made with electo magnetic relays so it makes sense how the shield comes back to Steve and he catches it how he does. Pretty cool
