might be good to leave this here also. an atomic shop camp item that isn't really often used as decor but is good for new players to eventually grab if they want to get into serious building in the game is the shelter catwalks or alien catwalks (if he mentioned it i missed it lol). the catwalks are used to help place structural items better and in my opinion, their best use is to freely place walls without a foundation by tricking the game when using the blueprint system (i'm sure mister church has a video on this somewhere). the vault-tec prototype generator and/or the utility box generator suite are also really good things to pick up when they come around as they're pretty small (especially the vault-tec one), don't have smoke, and make little or no noise so they're easy to hide or incorporate into your builds without being intrusive, even if you don't want to use merging. the utility box can also power your camp's lights without being connected to a conduit and produces 100 energy so it can be hooked up to even the even the most power hungry items that need a direct power connection while still being low profile. the solar panel and the windmill are great free options but these other 2 are really good atomic shop replacements.

Just recently got back into Fallout 76 and had previously completely neglected the base building component of the game. Watching your videos has really made me spend some time creating immersive builds, so much so that I've gotten a handful of complimentary messages from people on camps I've built using strategies I learned from watching your videos.
Out of curiosity, could we get another 'top ten' style video where you go through your favorite ten or fifteen atom shop items for base building? Like introduce the item, say how many atoms you'd need to purchase it, explain why its such a good item to have and its uses, and then maybe a short showcase of the item being used.

I remember how quickly I burned through my wood supplies at the beginning, so having a wood extractor as a new player would really be a godsend. 💗

The blue printing thing you did with the potted plant is going to help me so much lol. I use the nuka cola crate stalls for my vendor, and I tried placing stuff inside, and it would just go to the roof lol. I loved the build. I might try to make something near a wood pile too, and I had no idea you could place extractors near them lol.
Yeah! They are pretty neat! And the blueprinting thing can definitely help with their prefabs they invented that we can’t build in otherwise 🤣

Fantastic! Didn't know you could build over a wood resource like that, clever! Love the little garage, I always struggle with where/how to build my workbenches. I need them, but they're ugly. Last night I walked the very south part of the map thinking about building a camp close to the new map expansion. I found a couple flat-ish building areas, a lake I had no idea was there, and a perfectly flat rock hill with a Ouga spawn.
Can I hire Vapid Valentine to inspect my camp? 🤣I got a foundation piece stuck on the side of house last night, so frustrating. Now its just part of my build.
There’s a few spots that are gonna be neat near the edge after the update 😅 yeah workbenches are hard if you’re trying to make a clean build. V never has any benches when I go to her house so I can never make new clothes 😒 you can ask her yourself about the inspections, I’m sure she’d be enthralled. I might be able to help with the stuck foundation tho no promises lately things have been acting weird

Quick FYI, the vendor at the Lumber Mill right next to you always sells the Advanced Power Connectors now. The same one that sells the new skins. So, it's a very easy plan to get early now.

Thanks a lot for inspiration! BTW i resolved issue with how to make perimeter walls float, and its actually super easy. I used same thing from your Perimeter wall frame video, but in reverse, so if you put in a foundation and wall then perimeter wall stairs can actually snap to that wall. Afterwards, if you dont need that specific Perimeter Wall Stairs, but want to use Perimeter Wall Frame only that technically cant be used without a Perimeter wall Stairs, then put adjacent perimeter wall frame and perimeter wall stairs on top of it. Voila, now you can delete BOTH stairs, leaving only frame. I didnt tested it myself yet, but should improve your Perimeter Wall Frame as well because you should be able to blueprint PW frame without PW stairs that way.
Actually PW stairs can snap to floating wall as well, but you wont be able to delete wall without a foundation afterwards. Also, never snap two Perimeter wall stairs together because they end up being unremovable, always use PW frames to divide them.
That small tricks will make Perimeter Wall much more flexible to use in builds, so i hope this helps.

Could you do a vault shelter utility room build? I know it's fairly limited in what you can do, but if you could demonstrate what can and can't be done that'd be super helpful.

I have a problem with walls being the wrong way around.
I have tried many times to fix it but they snap in back to front.
What is the fix?
I found it with vault walls and responder walls .
For me, when I do lock things, I typically do a level 3. This way, people need a maxed out Master Infiltrator perk to accidentally instantly pop it. Anything lower is bait to work on killing wanted players.

I don't lvl0 lock anything anymore, too easy for newbies that just got master infil to auto-pick your locks 'accidentally' and get wanted and you have to go and waste resources re-locking it when you coulda just done the next level up from the start.

Will you ever get your pet peeve of barn wall set? It’s a specific design choice that the building sets in the game are focused on how the vault dwellers remember things, not how they are after the bombs dropped. Thus the barn wall look like something you might find in the mid west today rather than whatever survived nuclear Armageddon.
New barn walls would have a glossy red shine to them and unbroken windows and one that survived the nukes would have looked half destroyed and with no windows at all.
But we’re a bunch of vault dwellers who can remember the past but weren’t the people to actually know how stuff is built which why everything is a bit shit.
Nah it’s just not good. It’s the 10% tint that does it for me. I’m assuming it’s so the cows can hotbox without interference?
