My favourite of all time. There will never be a comedy duo like them all again. Thanks for so much laughter Eric and Ernie. No doubt you have heaven laughing all the time.
im so glad i was around to these the greatest double act britain has ever produced. this scene never fails to make me smile. pure genius. how we miss eric and ernie today. thanks for posting.
Absolute genius!! Cracks me up everytime I see it.... after 30+ years it has never got old!! Thanks for posting it, guarenteed I will be back watching it when I need a laugh....
Im an American, but had the good fortune of growing up in England in the 70's and early 80's.I remember these two fondly as well as The Two Ronnies,Cannon and Ball,Benny Hill and all the great British comedy. The breakfast sketch is right up there with the best of them.
One of the best things about these sort of sketches is the roars of laughter you hear from the audience. Wonder if they knew at the time that this would be pne of the best loved Eric and Ern sketches.
i agree, can't believe you said that this is crap, these are legends who have influenced every form of comedy out there today and so everyone should acknowledge morecambe and wise for their contributions
These two used to get audiences of 20 million regularly. Today's comedies would rejoice to get half that. Perhaps that explains why TV was so much better in the 70's.
Surely you must agree that the (or at least, one of the) true art(s) of comedy is in timing? This sketch is perfectly timed, doesn't age, and is funny every time it's viewed (for most people anyway - I must say, you seem to find yourself in a definate minority).
pure comedy gold! and to think Eric came from Morecambe, close to where i live! its an absolute dump but it produced one of the best comedy minds in the country! lol
Yes I do wonder sometimes if audiences in the 70's for some BBC shows realised they witnessing something really special. Like the people that saw Michael Crawford's roller skating stunt on Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em.
This is classic comedy.Just like the 2 ronnies, dave Allen.Only fools and horses, falwty towers etc etc (the list goes on and on). One thing that makes it special too is theres not a swear word to be heard. Not need for vulgarity at all.
'If you dont like it then dont post. Simplest answer in the world.' Finally I find someone who agrees, it annoys me so much that people put comments on youtube for tv shows and songs and that just complaining that they don't like it, no-ones forcing them to watch these things, and certainly no-one wishes to hear their stupid comments! *dips hat to you and leaves*
And this sketch was actually originally an idea by Ernie Wise. He wanted to do it in one of their movies but the producers said no and it wouldn't work!! Shows what they know doesn't it?
Bigsteve532, I love how you've shown your ignorance and unsophistication to the world by not knowing this sketch, known as one of the Greatest British Comedic Moments of all time, Morecambe and Wise.
For the most part i think older stuff really is funnier than more contemporay comedy. Especially as far as sketch comedy goes. I think we live in a far more cynical world now unfortunately. Nearly all well regarded sketch comedy now can't be shown before 9pm which says alot.
I don't know for sure but I think someone said Benny Hill might have done one I cant remember off the top of my head but go through the older comments it should be in there somewhere (or on Part 1's comments)
Thanks everyone for rating and commenting. I normally just post a video and leave it at that, but I'm getting more comments on a couple of my videos than normal so I just want to thank everyone and I hope you all enjoy the Morecambe and Wise sketches as much as I do.

one of my favourite memories as a child, a classic and still makes me laugh
Absolute genius!! Cracks me up everytime I see it.... after 30+ years it has never got old!! Thanks for posting it, guarenteed I will be back watching it when I need a laugh....

Christmas has never been the same since Eric and Ernie shook off their mortal coils. Classic comedy at its finest.
One of the best sketches ever done!

Growing up with 70's and 80's tv was the best, nothing like it now.

Marvellous! Never fails to make me laugh. Still miss them.
Side-splittingly funny and so well timed! I just love it!
Just watched this with my 3 and 4 year olds. They roared with laughter. Can't beat M & W for a good giggle!
One of the best things about these sort of sketches is the roars of laughter you hear from the audience. Wonder if they knew at the time that this would be pne of the best loved Eric and Ern sketches.

This is just sooooooooooooo funny, how can anyone NOT KNOW!!!!! who Morecombe and Wise are???? They are the epitome of laughter itself.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Pure comic genius.
Still the funniest sketch of all time :)
The Two Ronnies do come a very close second, but I agree, Morrecambe and Wise = untouchable Comedy genius
Today's comics can only ever ASPIRE to be like this.
"By appointment" TV is over, more's the pity.
Simply the best...nuff said :)
It was a sketch featuring Hannah Gordon where she wants to be in one of Ernies plays but Ernie is "resting" so has to turn her down.
pure comedy gold! and to think Eric came from Morecambe, close to where i live! its an absolute dump but it produced one of the best comedy minds in the country! lol
hahaha! a truely timeless classic
Class, Nobody could do better

Wardy
@bigsteve532 these are probably the best two comedians the UK has ever seen
my toaster is their toasters twin. it shoots bread up in the air, course we dont catch it so it lands on top of the toaster
A classic!!!!
1:02 easily the best part XD
Love a bit of morcombe and wise any time. the only sketch that comes close to this is the fork handles one by the two Ronnies
'If you dont like it then dont post. Simplest answer in the world.'
Finally I find someone who agrees, it annoys me so much that people put comments on youtube for tv shows and songs and that just complaining that they don't like it, no-ones forcing them to watch these things, and certainly no-one wishes to hear their stupid comments! *dips hat to you and leaves*
they both had dancing lessons when they were younger
And this sketch was actually originally an idea by Ernie Wise. He wanted to do it in one of their movies but the producers said no and it wouldn't work!! Shows what they know doesn't it?
@cambio123 David rose and his orchestra done it, the song is simply called the stripper, its a bit faster in the morcambe and wise sketch though
Bigsteve532, I love how you've shown your ignorance and unsophistication to the world by not knowing this sketch, known as one of the Greatest British Comedic Moments of all time, Morecambe and Wise.
The song is The Stripper by David Rose
The music is called The Stripper
I LOVE THIS!!!!! XD
Just for the record I took a MENSA IQ examination a few years ago and scored 142!
DocaSpade! I have to find a sketch with M&W with Frankie Vaughn? Have you got it ... or has anyone else got it????
For the most part i think older stuff really is funnier than more contemporay comedy. Especially as far as sketch comedy goes. I think we live in a far more cynical world now unfortunately. Nearly all well regarded sketch comedy now can't be shown before 9pm which says alot.
BTW, it's PG tips, and it's really good!
It's called 'The Stripper'. Can't remember who wrote it though.
HILARIOUS.
I don't know for sure but I think someone said Benny Hill might have done one I cant remember off the top of my head but go through the older comments it should be in there somewhere (or on Part 1's comments)
@cambio123 songs called the stripper
Agreed.
LOved it, dont supose you know where i can get the 'Morny Stannit' sketch?? cant find it anywhere.
We've got the Ugly Sisters recreating this in a panto... it's amazing to see just how many ways people can cock it up!

Thanks everyone for rating and commenting. I normally just post a video and leave it at that, but I'm getting more comments on a couple of my videos than normal so I just want to thank everyone and I hope you all enjoy the Morecambe and Wise sketches as much as I do.
Just found out it's by David Rose- or Rhodes?
Sorry, your're right. :P

Yes, I know that, and you know that, but let's not start him off again. ;-)
