You can really tell by his eyes that he has much sadness in him. From bullying and such. And on top of that go out and sing like this. Being brave and stand infront of the world like this. I admire this man.
Crave88evarC If you look at the truly great singers, there is almost always something that drives them or some moment in their life that defines them. You have to have something to draw that emotion from.
Doesn't this just make you wonder how many other people like Paul Potts there are out there working in stores and dreaming about doing what he did & also have the talent to do it? When you look at people like Paul, Susan Boyle, Jonathan Antoine & so on, it reminds you to keep dreaming & don't ever give up. VIVA LA VOCE!
The most amazing thing to me is, even after he sings and hears the crowd's reaction, he still has that look of fear on his face that the judges might not have liked his performance.
I have to watch this a few times a year because it is simply amazing. I hope Paul is doing extremely well now and is getting everything he is so deserving of.
Just saw this post, I also return to this video a few times a year, there's just something special about it, makes me believe life really does have those special moments.
It's been 8 years now I came back to this video. What a stunning performance and an incredible personality! I have, goosebumps all over. Does somebody know how he is doing now?
One of the lessons to be learned from Paul Potts is to prepare yourself so you are ready before opportunity knocks. Many people don't know this, but Paul spent a lot of time and money learning and training. He spent a large portion of his meager pay to take lessons including going to Italy to study. And even after all his preparations, he still doubted himself such that he tossed a coin to decide whether to enter BGT or not. Imagine if that coin had landed the other way and the world never hears of Paul Potts.
I have seen this audition a number of times and each time I weep. The sadness in his eyes at the start and then his perfectly angelic voice are quite moving. May he be blessed with as much happiness as he has talent.

Kobus Janse van Rensburg Yes, I do as well. It actually brings tears to my eyes listening to him perform. It is so powerful and unexpected. I have watched it numerous times and I never fail to get chills and moved by his performance.

Last year I was standing with Mr. Potts in an elevator of a hotel in Seoul. He was such a nice guy and started chatting. Good to see that someone who is so humble and has a 'regular' job made it big in the showbizz. Well deserved for this man.

He started off so seemingly uncertain and insecure, then "POW!" he bursts forth like a super hero busting out of his costume, amazes everyone in sight and ear shot, and then when done subsides back into his humble costume. Matthew Gallagher He's Celtic, and you must also have Celtic blood in you with a name like Gallagher. Do you consider yourself our society's perfect model? and while you answer, please define the word perfect for me......because 'perfect' is a subjective appraisal that depends on the viewer.......

Matthew Gallagher Society has a very distorted view of what a perfect model is. The images that can be seen on the web, show women of around about size 0, which, in my view, is a disgraceful role-model to hold up as 'perfect'. If you read my original post carefully, you will see that I said "There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way Paul Potts looks". I stand by my response to what the original poster said.
Look at his eyes , it's filled with sad and sorrow , tired looking face with nervousness. That's the face of a man who is on the verge of giving up everything . Whenever we look at someone pictures and images representing emotions pops up , when I see this guy smiling , gratitude even thought surrounded by pain and suffering , I can't think of anything else.
it's actually a play on the opera's character, Since Timur is nothing much to behold, despite being a prince, he's actually kind of mocking Turnadot, having beaten her by solving the riddles with song.. his apprehensiveness leaving him with every verse, as he grows into the king he is destined to be by morning.. he kisses her in the morning, she resists at first but falls in love with him ..then she insures his vocal chords for 50 million RBN, and they land a fucking wicked record contract with Sony !!! it's right in the script !!!!
This goes directly into the heart! Just what seems to be an ordinary man with an ordinary job. And despite his lack of confidence, which probably has been following him the most of his life, he’s got the courage to show his talent to the entire world, which rockets him to stardom.
He’s always been my favourite contestant. Not only he’s amazing but humble as well that makes him even more loveable. He deserves every second of his success🌹
I think it's because I judged him by his looks and how he carried himself and it made me so ashamed...but from the first time I watched this video, I cry EVERY TIME! This guy does not just SING the song..he lives the song, he delivers the message, he IS this song!!! I am so ashamed of my judging him and so proud of Paul. Still watching this all these years later!
Arianeria Yup...even at 47, I am still learning new things and relearning old lessons everyday. I guess that's a good thing...it means I haven't become stuck in my ways yet. :-)
You people who are criticizing his singing need to step back and enjoy this moment for a "common guy" to present himself so well. It is the moment that is enthralling. His life would be changed forever--unless he did not sing well. But he presented AND he did so in a humble fashion. We all have those kind of dreams but rarely act on them. By the way he won the competition so millions support him whether he is a tenor...soprano, alto or whatever...(Just words)
the transition is still amazing. You can see Paul's nerves, how the judges smile belittlingly as he says he sings opera, how Paul just throws his insecurities overboard and puts everything into his performance going all in for his dream, wanting to prove everyone wrong and taking them all by storm and proving everyone wrong who were expecting a miraculous fail. Still one of my absolute favourites ever.
I can tell you why this performance has a lot more likes and views than Pavarotti's. Pavarotti is a trained professional. Everybody can google any video of him or any recording, and it will be splendid. As per usual. However, this guy shows that there're absolutely no borders or boundaries for a true talent. It shows people, the whole world that your dream can come true and if you're truly gifted and follow your own path, you will shine. And people will kneel before your talent and recognize you. This vid gets me every time.
It's also more current and relevant as it's from 2007 (After RUclips became popular) and not from the last millenium. I'm actually surprised that the pavarotti video has almost 30 million views, there are lots of brilliant old songs with barely any views at all while Justin Bieber songs trumps with 1 billion views. Views are generated 10% through content and 90% through publicity, a clip from the 90's rarely gets any publicity 20 years later.
I looked up José Carreras; Luciano Pavarotti; and Plácido Domingo. Then listened to the same segment (1:08 to 1:58)(obviously they would be different times). None of them did to my eyes as this particular rendition of Potts'. None of them moved me as much. They are all technically correct. Technically that is. Can anybody explain this?
I love how the camera just swirls around while he's finishing the song. The emotions going through this man's body must have been incredible. As he said years later when he returned to sing he said "I'm grateful because when I came on stage I was nobody and when I left I was somebody" wonderful humble person.
I’ve watched this hundreds of times but I go back sometimes and just watch it for some positive thoughts. Reminds me that humanity can be cool sometimes.
What you see here is a triumph of the human soul. Look at that calm, yet unconfident and unsure man. He has throughout his life been beaten down, subjugated, and constantly defeated by outside forces. He has internalized this and consequently confined himself in a prison of fear. Now he is free. He has liberated himself, torn off the shackles of doubt and fear and become one with his inner passions and desires. He is at one with the world he has created, a world dominated by his beautiful voice, and he is now free. The oppressive forces that once tortured and controlled him are now gone; he is free.
So true. You can tell that Simon is like "lets just get this over with" and when Paul was done it was like he had no choice but to acknowledge Paul as a great singer even though he didn't want to.
This video is such a mark in history. The condescending way and pitiful eyes of the audience towards his looks, just before his sings is what was hindering this man talent from growing. After years of lone preparation and gathering confidence he is able to explode in this audition like a supernova. He outshines everyone in that room, becoming bigger than everyone who had pity on him before. When he says "Ma Il mio misterio e' chiuso in me" it's like his voice is ripping that room apart and blowing away all those judging eyes. When I saw this 10 years ago I was a fat slob much like him, and because of his help I've managed to completely change my life, blowing away the people who had belittle me in the past. Thank you Paul.
+Kajsa Varg Look at live performance footage of any strong singer. When they go for those powerful moments, they move the microphone away. There's a reason for that, and a well-trained opera singer can go much further.
+kungfuman82 It does not destroy the speakers. The mic is amplified through a compressor, gate and a limiter. No matter how strong you sing it will be limited.
Saw a picture of Paul when he was about 7yrs old, did he look so sad, its haunting. I know of Pauls horrendous bullying at school, it was everyday of his school life, it shows in the way he came on BGT. This man is just amazing. I remember a boy constantly bullied at school, he was afraid to mix socially even when he grew up, Teachers don.t give a dam or afraid of the bullies parents who themselves are often bullies.
The education bureaucracy don't give a damn so long as they get their paychecks and pensions. The name of the game is not nurturing the next generation, but to get them out the door and make room for the next batch; public schools are nothing more than diploma factories.
After 10 years this is still the best damn video on all of RUclips. Paul - what a gentleman, talented, humble, the best. His presence brought out the most respectful response from Simon I've seen in quite a while.
Paul Potts is one of the best tenor out there at this time, this video does not do him justice. The whole package, demeanour, humble persona, gentle yet strong voice. Unique.
This was some years ago. But whenever I need to get a piece of happiness - here we are… it’s about talent. About second chances. About hope. About surprising the world. About finally giving what you have. This was all about Paul. But sometimes we forget to say thanks to Simon, who created a show that gives visibility to such amazing pieces and people. So, thanks Simon for creating a new world of missed talents, who would vanish silently otherwise🥹
There is no question that Pavarotti is a legend and he sang this perfectly...more perfectly than Paul Potts..But why is it that listening to Paul Potts makes me tear up.? That didn't happened when I listened to Pavarottis version. . Did you look at the audiences' faces as well as the judges? The female judge was also tearing up as well as pierce. And Simon had that look on him. ...This goes to show that sometimes its not about singing it better. Sometimes its the heart you put into it. You can feel this mans passion for opera as well as his longing to sing...all those years of stifling his dreams and if you put all that into a song it will have an effect on the listeners that even the greatest of the great cannot match.
RACCATTApalle91804 it is unfair to compare him to singers with classical training. I was talking about the heart in the performance and not the technical aspects of it. That heart is what made him win BGT. Also 'normal' audiences are not fond of opera so one has to sound well to impress. I heard many versions, this one isn't perfect but it has heart
RACCATTApalle91804 I'm sure they have. They certainly have the money to be able to afford to see one. His success is not about getting recognized to be the best because there are certainly many opera singers who put in years and years to even be recognized. Have you ever had a dream? Something you truly want for a very very long time and yet couldn't follow that path for one reason or another? When life calls to sacrifice that dream because of something that takes precedence? You heard it. He said he was there to sing opera. He knows sacrifice as the rest of us because his is the years of putting on hold for whatever reasons his dreams to be able to just sing opera. He never had any training but im sure from how much he seemed to love it he would certainly do if he can go back in time and if he had the means. People sometimes put their dreams on hold for whatever reason then sometimes they realize it was a mistake until the very end. People who became opera singers or performers are very blessed because they are were they want to be. They are following on their dreams. Why do you think he joined? I think he did it in the beginning for that one moment only. To be able to sing that one time in front of the world so that he has at least that moment to remember. He did not anticipate what the public reception would be. There is certainly no guaranteed of a win and you put yourself in the scrutiny of 4 judges and the people. They voted for him. He won because he sang it well-from the heart. I could feel that heart . it really isn't fair to compare him to others. I'm happy he is following his dreams. It may or may not last but the point is hr finally did follow it. Also, if I were to sing a pop song why would people compare me to the original or to others who sang that song? I ought to be judge by how well the people like my rendition.//
I so agree. It is the same with all art. Crude paintings and primitive wood. The humanity is all out there and we clutch it to our bosom, but the perfect - too perfect is cold to the touch.
You and others tear up when listening to Paul Potts sing Nessun Dorma because music: whether opera, country and western, polka or jazz, is meant to move you. I am a degreed, professional classical musician who is quick to tell the "experts" that "good" music, "good" singing is really in the emotions of the hearer. In this, it is similar to art. What is beautiful or good is subjective to the emotions of the person having the experience. If Paul Pott's rendition moved people in any kind of way, then his performance was good: one that accomplished through music what music is meant to do..
People are moved to tears because this is what makes the human experience worth living Something everyone tells you cant have and you find the strength inside to win. Listen to the emotion and power in this performance .of this classic aria, its moving.
Watch this and Susan Boyle in succession. No matter how awkward they both seem in the intros, as soon as the musical accompaniment begins, it's like some ethereal spirit has entered them, their faces become completely beatified as they elicit supreme confidence. Then when the music stops, they revert to their mere mortal bearing. Extraordinary.
When i hear this man singing here, and what he did to that crowd and those judges. Just amazing. And I still cant but shake when i see and hear him here! Still sends a shiver.... right down my spine!
OMG its contestants like PAUL POTTS AND SUSAN BOYLE who are the the absolute legends of this show....I am tearing up and reaching tissues right now...x
Nessun Dorma is an incredibly difficult piece to sing even for accomplished tenors. It's like learning to play the "Rack 5th" as a Grade 1 pianist. Stage presence for this piece is everything, he was a complete rookie but did amazingly well. Top props! Keep in mind that Pavarotti was well past his prime even into the mid to late 90's. And he studied for decades.
I used to work in Bristol with someone who knew Paul Potts because they grew up in the same neighbourhood and attended the same school. He admitted that he used to bully Paul as a youth in the 80's and feels really bad about it as an adult. Paul has gone on to have a very successful singing career and made £millions since he won BGT so well done to him. I hate bullying, having suffered a bit of it myself for a couple of years as a kid, so Paul, if you ever read this comment, Pat said he was really sorry.
One of the best moments ever on BGT. The classic completely average and humble type of guy with cardboard mannerisms yet produced pure emotion with great tone. Sure, not technically brilliant or powerful like a Pavarotti but did the operatic genre proud and himself! Then went on to have a great career touring 45 countries with an estimated wealth now of at least 10 million. The little lump of coal did turn into a diamond!
He's such a gem, you don't hear much of him but suddenly a couple years ago the guy popped up in the korean television show King of mask singer and in disguise sang korean songs and was good at it too. Was surprised to hear he likes the country and speaks the language even if basic, was very impressive.
There are several '...Got Talent" singers I go back to frequently... Susan Boyle, obviously, and Paul Potts, both from Gr. Britain. One out of Sweden, Freddy Amigo, one from Bulgaria, Svetlio Hristov (I think that's the correct spelling), and from the US Andrew De Leon, Charlotte & Jonathan and Brian Justin Crum . With the exception of Hristov, all share an 'unfriended' history or other such equally 'soul-killing' issues, so their success means a little extra to me. (This is just a little aside: There is one singer who, well, I have zero idea how I came across his video RUclips performance as it wasn't on any of those shows, but just in case you might enjoy hearing him also, he's the Rag'n'Bone man singing "Human.")
I just love the humanity .... it is soooo wonderful; I just can't say enough good things about this video.. I know it's old, but it still stands up .. .till this day.
To have an everyman sing a piece like Nessun Dorma with such virtuosity and sadness in his countenance makes it hit home even more than Pavarotti. It's like a guy who's been bullied all his life through no fault of his own letting loose with an emotional ballad from the depths of his soul. I get even more emotional watching Paul's rendition than Pavarotti's, and that's saying something.
Paul Potts is okay in the realm of opera and there is a reason why you don’t hear about him today. I mean he studied opera at a musical college and didn’t made it after that. I’m really really happy for him that he made something out of his great talent but There is nobody even close to Pavarotti
I didn't study opera at any college@@psirus89. I took private lessons as and when I could afford them. I used quiz show winnings and savings to take short courses in Italy, without much belief that it would lead to anything at all. Following an operation to remove a large tumour, I continued, but an accident when someone carelessly knocked me off my bicycle a few days after returning to work meant that I couldn't continue with my singing for 4 years before the audition.
@@paulpottsBAHAHA clap back of the century. You’re an inspiration, your singing brings me so much emotion. As a young music student battling mental illness, your story is amazing to me. ❤
It’s not just his voice which is obviously spectacular. It’s that look on his face it tells a million stories and the fact that he says confidence in himself is something he has always struggled with. I can totally relate people like him & I are always brushed away and not accepted by society.
You can see through his eyes he maybe suffered a lot in his life. And now he is embracing success. He won. He made it. Life is smiling at him and he loves what he does. Well deserved, Paul. Vinceró.
Every time when I hear him , and I have often heard him here, my tears gets in my eyes, everytime. He sings this song with all of his soul. I heard even Pavarotti, etc. , but I love Nessun Dorma only sung by Paul Potts^^ God bless him for all of his life^^
He has sung in the finest opera houses in the WORLD. There are three, '...Got Talent," singers that I know of that have gone on to global successes. Susan Boyle, one of the 'boy' singing groups, that initially sung independent of each other but Cowell made them unite and collectively they are enormous (it's midnight my time, and my mind isn't...all there at the moment so I cannot recall their stage name) and, or course Potts. There may be more, but at the nonce, I can only think of those three.
I saved this video in my RUclips Bin of Memories for well over 10 years now....and probably come and watch every few months.....my Dad was a USAF Colonel for 33 years and this really brings back memories of my childhood! Cheers Everyone
I've come back to this video many times. How he sang is one thing. How he stood after the performance is something. So humble. I don't know if he made it big. I wish he did
You can really tell by his eyes that he has much sadness in him. From bullying and such. And on top of that go out and sing like this. Being brave and stand infront of the world like this. I admire this man.
Well, this guy got the success he deserved. I almost started tearing up a bit when I saw his face as he sang his fucking heart out.
He stood in front of a little crowd of a popular show in England called "Britain's got Talent' he dosent stood in front of the world.
Crave88evarC If you look at the truly great singers, there is almost always something that drives them or some moment in their life that defines them. You have to have something to draw that emotion from.

Crave88evarC Well said. I'm not a fan of opera myself but I've been on a youtube marathon because of him.

Yes it does
Very well said, Thank You.
This guy sounds ok, I like Jonathen better though. Might be just the sing seems not right to me.
Oh my I have tears 😢.. hidden talent!
The most amazing thing to me is, even after he sings and hears the crowd's reaction, he still has that look of fear on his face that the judges might not have liked his performance.
I love simon's smile.
you can see it in his face. he's been through some shit

when most of the people in this show have amazing pure talents...
This goes directly into the heart! Just what seems to be an ordinary man with an ordinary job. And despite his lack of confidence, which probably has been following him the most of his life, he’s got the courage to show his talent to the entire world, which rockets him to stardom.
4 minutes that changed this man's life. A wonderful man with truly incredible talent.
You know thats the problem of most people even people who looks ugly to you can have talent and be good at something. Never judge book by its cover.
Arianeria
Yup...even at 47, I am still learning new things and relearning old lessons everyday. I guess that's a good thing...it means I haven't become stuck in my ways yet. :-)
Lonnie Appleby Yes people are learning their whole life. And thats the beauty of the life and humans, nobody is same and knows everything.
Still, in my opinion, the greatest, most legendary audition ever for a reality talent show. The gold standard upon which all others are measured.
Lonnie Appleby you are spot on Lonnie as they say never judge a book by its cover open it first before you make your mind up
Es ist immer wieder wunderbar zu sehen, dass es auch "underdogs" gibt, die Leistungen vollbringen, die zu den Tops gehören!
I've lost count of how many times i have viewed this and i still get teary.
Shout out to Simon Cowell. Classicly understated response
Exactly what I think! I just adore the way this man is! BRAVO!!
Exactly!!!
Well put!
topgun966 don't forget skill! :)
Jack U. You identify with his story, that could be why.
I love how the camera just swirls around while he's finishing the song. The emotions going through this man's body must have been incredible. As he said years later when he returned to sing he said "I'm grateful because when I came on stage I was nobody and when I left I was somebody" wonderful humble person.
I have watched this many times over the years for inspiration.....Love to see doubters and haters spoiled!!
After 14 Years, I can´t stop watching this Video of an incredible Talent! Greetings from Germany
He's great, or sure! but please give also our "big Luciano" Pavarotti a try... -) I think you could like him...
I’ve watched this hundreds of times but I go back sometimes and just watch it for some positive thoughts. Reminds me that humanity can be cool sometimes.
Who's needing to watch this in April 2024 to feel humanity amidst current cruelty in world
🖐🖐❤
What you see here is a triumph of the human soul. Look at that calm, yet unconfident and unsure man. He has throughout his life been beaten down, subjugated, and constantly defeated by outside forces. He has internalized this and consequently confined himself in a prison of fear. Now he is free. He has liberated himself, torn off the shackles of doubt and fear and become one with his inner passions and desires. He is at one with the world he has created, a world dominated by his beautiful voice, and he is now free. The oppressive forces that once tortured and controlled him are now gone; he is free.
holy fuk well written m9
?
Nice analysis m8
So true. You can tell that Simon is like "lets just get this over with" and when Paul was done it was like he had no choice but to acknowledge Paul as a great singer even though he didn't want to.
You don't know his life lmao.
This.
Draxis32 Definitely the best audition I've seen
Just couldnt have said it better myself... so important not to judge a person based on his/hers apperance.
I get chills every time I watch this and a bit teary eyed.
He had that inside him for his whole life. What a wonderful thing to show it to the world.
Notice how far he stood away from the mic? He would've destroyed the speakers if he were an inch closer. What an amazingly powerful voice!
+kungfuman82 And the funny thing is that was actualluy one of his weakest performances.
*****
It's been known to happen...apparently!
Lahtiman81 Good to know. Were you working the sound booth during this event? I'm curious about what didn't make the televised show.
I’m still watching this video after so so many years…
It’s just beautiful ♥️
been the first ever winner on BGT is definitely something to be proud of. it all started with him
Can't believe it has been 17 yrs. I saw him when he came to Atlanta. Brilliant.
Every time I watch this video I still get chills and get choked up. He has an amazing voice.
even all these years later, this performance still brings tears to my eyes 😭
This is such a timeless song, and he sung it with such passion and power. An incredibly moving performance.
Chevell shepard
Absolutely YES!!! 👍
Amira
Paul Potts is one of the best tenor out there at this time, this video does not do him justice. The whole package, demeanour, humble persona, gentle yet strong voice. Unique.
Yep just at this time. Because the fact that Carreras and Domingo retired already
He and Susan Boyle are the most incredible examples of how an unassuming person can have magnificent talent and bigger dreams.
After 10 years, the magic is still there.
unbelievable, 11 years past and I still touching by him
There is no question that Pavarotti is a legend and he sang this perfectly...more perfectly than Paul Potts..But why is it that listening to Paul Potts makes me tear up.?
I ought to be judge by how well the people like my rendition.//
janekerigan235 Respect your thoughts, Good luck.
It brings tears to my eyes what a voice and such a humble man.He got there and he deserves all the success.
People are moved to tears because this is what makes the human experience worth living
Something everyone tells you cant have and you find the strength inside to win.
Listen to the emotion and power in this performance .of this classic aria, its moving.
Guess who does it so much better than this?
I agree with you. It's a story for all of us
Watch this and Susan Boyle in succession. No matter how awkward they both seem in the intros, as soon as the musical accompaniment begins, it's like some ethereal spirit has entered them, their faces become completely beatified as they elicit supreme confidence. Then when the music stops, they revert to their mere mortal bearing. Extraordinary.
I think cuz the awkward int he intro it makes it all that sweeter
When i hear this man singing here, and what he did to that crowd and those judges. Just amazing. And I still cant but shake when i see and hear him here!
Still sends a shiver.... right down my spine!
welshdragon2008 imagine him singing Land of my Fathers. That would be something.
I hate bullying, having suffered a bit of it myself for a couple of years as a kid, so Paul, if you ever read this comment, Pat said he was really sorry.
lol this guy pat cant even apologise himself has someone else do it for him
@Moody_blue he's already forgiven
For all the Pauls, Jonathans, and Susans who face a tough crowd of critics, I applaud your fierce tenacity.
Damn right!
This guy makes this song so much more emotional than any other version I've heard. Instant tears it's so beautiful.
Been watching this for 10 years. Still cry like baby every time.
Me too! Just love his voice!! :-)
This is my comfort youtube video, I just come back and watch it yearly
Was surprised to hear he likes the country and speaks the language even if basic, was very impressive.
every once in a while I like to come back to this video and it makes me smile
Had to come and revisit this performance. I still get goosebumps and cry. So beautiful!
Linda Zalamea Me too.
久しぶりに見るとやっぱり泣けちゃう。心に響く歌い方だし魂で歌ってる感じが凄く好き
Don’t think Paul “fell off” he’s a very well respected opera singer and still going strong
Jesus. Amen. I was goose bumping all over that.
It's still my favorite performance on "Anyone's Got Talent".
Now that's racist
Puccini, what for a compocer!
someone's got talent
iu
What's Anyone's Got Talent?
This was the most epic performance in this entire show in my opinion. Stunning
Including Susan Boyle . . The best ever performances ever . .
@@iftikharfaridy2974 yes. Boyles as well. This one is my favorite though personally
This is a gentle man with a God-given voice. Love his audition.. BRAVO Mr. Paul Potts.💜💜💜💜
It’s crazy going down memory lane to check out this video and realizing it was 17 years ago! OMG
"What are you here for today, Paul?" "To sing opera"
10 years later, still gives me chills
Paul went through so much in his life to get to this stage performance and he totally knocked it out the park. Tears of joy 😊 ❤
Hello Ju. Hope you’re having a great day?
Nice to see Paul on TV today, he is releasing new CD. Humble, humility and talented, can not think of another tenor with all three assets.
Another example of raw talent, wonderful! still impresses me and it’s August 2108
Jean Gough your a time traveller
Amazing voice and he deserves all the success he has earned
watched it again.. still crying... so genuine.
It's really beautiful to see when someone is doing what they love to do.
15 years and i still get goosebumps💕
Omg me too!!
10 years from this, amazing
rollingstone
It’s not just his voice which is obviously spectacular. It’s that look on his face it tells a million stories and the fact that he says confidence in himself is something he has always struggled with. I can totally relate people like him & I are always brushed away and not accepted by society.
It's been 10 years, but I'm still listening.
I just searched for it again tonight too. Brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful!
kebab defender I found this yesterday. Amazing.
185 million views...and 1 million are mine! Mr. Potts...you are MY INSPIRATION!
I heard even Pavarotti, etc. , but I love Nessun Dorma only sung by Paul Potts^^ God bless him for all of his life^^
Crazy that this was 17 years ago already. Time definitely flies.
lol, just came to post the same thing
You’re right
Time isn't flying, it's blowing apart, quite literally so hold on to your hat! (for about 15 trillion years)
He looks so sad, I hope a successful singing career brings happiness. He seems like a decent guy.
theseus quasitor he is a multi millionear now. he was in debt but now he is a rich man.
This video was 10 years ago. You can follow his career online
I saved this video in my RUclips Bin of Memories for well over 10 years now....and probably come and watch every few months.....my Dad was a USAF Colonel for 33 years and this really brings back memories of my childhood! Cheers Everyone
Many thanks and respect to your dad for his service.
I've come back to this video many times. How he sang is one thing. How he stood after the performance is something. So humble. I don't know if he made it big. I wish he did
Very big in the classical music scene many successful circuits.
