Since you seem to love chicken with rice, may I suggest that next time you are in SIN, go to Terminal 1 and look for the Emirates check-in counters. Behind there is a corridor with a sign "Canteen" or "Staff Canteen". Follow the sign and take the elevator downstairs. You will find a food hall serving local food and this is where all the airport employees eat (you can still eat there as a passenger but will have to pay higher prices). There is a stall that serves Hainan Chicken Rice and the rice is very good. Just for your information, it is not spicy.
I hope you signed a waiver when you ordered that. "You hereby release, discharge and hold harmless this airline from any and all liability in the event your stomach melts..."
hi scott, another great video. here’s a tip from me, a former staff working at changi airport for singapore airlines who did check-in, departure and arrival gate duties. if you are flying on singapore airlines on business class next time out of t3, go to row 6. if its on premium economy out of t3, go to row 7. if its first class or suites, go to the first class check-in lounge. for t2, if you are flying on business class, premium economy, go to row 1. lastly, im sure you’re a gold member of a star alliance airline due to your frequency of flying. you can go to premium economy check-in at the rows stated above for check-in if you are a gold member of any star alliance airline.
I've done the equivalent flight out of SFO and I can't for the life of me understand all the complaints about the footwells on this seat. I suppose it boils down to the position in which one sleeps, but I didn't have a problem with either flight. My bigger issue with these seats is that you have to stand up to convert the seat into a bed manually rather than remain seated and push a button like every other business class seat I've been in.
Srsly, your flight report videos are the best out there! Love the humor, the sarcasm, the music...It's just different! In a very good way! Looking forward to the next upload!
Last missed approach I was a bystander on... We were coming into PHX and the pilot was laughing when he explained that there was "wildlife on the runway"... Found out later that there was indeed a roadrunner attempting to dodge a coyote.....
Wonderful and insightful video mate. I’m flying to LAX from Singapore on business class this December. Actually will be my first time in USA. With your experience I can at least know what to expect ;)
KUL/SIN departure (cant think other airports) have this second security check point thing. I think this practice is not common elsewhere. Sucks especially if you connecting from other international flight and you bought some duty free liquor where you cant check it in nor buying some frappe from starbucks and had to junk it when you at the checkpoint. What I do is i try to be at the gate as late as possible without missing the priority boarding or be super last pax to get in. *That music and narrative combo really made it like an adventure for sure.
I know it takes a seasoned traveler to be comfortable with most aspects of flying, but I'm still in awe of people who can gnaw through the lounge buffet and then eat on board as well and still keep their gastrointestinal tract in line while flying. All I manage to consume is the occasional kit kat + evian combo strictly 1+hrs before boarding. Is it possible to learn this power?
Unpopular opinion perhaps but while I absolutely love the crew and food on SQ, I found their A350 business seat to be a little off. It looks great, but it's a little awkward. Flip over for bed mode, tiny footwell, bulky seat back feels like a headboard in front of you and the tray table's location means it pops out when your elbow rests on it. Everything else not seat-related on the other hand was really top notch. This was all on EWR-SIN.
I definitely understand - it’s certainly different than most other business class seats, and my biggest complaint was having to put the seat up (which takes a lot of effort) for eating.
Great video! I’m trying to decide if it is worth he points to upgrade to business on this flight.. how comfortable was the bed? You mentioned the tiny footwell...
Happy memories of my trip to Australia with SQ Business Class ❤️ LHR - SIN (A380) - SIN - PER (A350) - BNE - SIN - (A350) - SIN - LHR (777-200 ER) - every trip FANTASTIC! Best overall seat was on the A380 which was better than 1st on most airlines, and I think that's what you got on the ULR, the next best (best for sleeping but not for eating position) was the 777 - the regional Biz class was OK (ok I'd been spoilt - it was a damn sight better than economy!) but didn't touch the long haul sears for comfort. Watching this makes me want to jump on another long haul SQ for the exquisite service, satay amuse bouche, and general excitement of a long haul! Great review as always Scott! I'm just back from SFO - LHR economy on BA 747 - it was great - their Biz class is so weird with back to front seats I was fine in my aisle seat! Keep flying! ✈️😁👍
I flew SQ business class on 25 Feb 20 MEL/WLG and was in 14K - the seat in front of you. Like with you, a friendly flight attendant show be how the seat works for sleeping. I do agree with you its not intuitive and was suprise that the IFE screen wasn't a touch screen. My screen remote had a mind of its own wanting me to see movies it thought was good for me. After a while me and the remote declared peace and was able to watch I wanted to see. I do agree with you that SQ Business product is good, better than Emirates.
The flight attendants must get really tired of showing everyone how to lower and raise the seats on these flights. 😄 Sorry about the rogue remote though - glad I didn’t have that issue!
If you had spoken up and belly-ached to the crew about how inedible your meal was to you, they would have been falling all over themselves trying to accommodate you by offering another main meal. You should have said something. Years ago, I was flying in Economy. Upon picking up our dinner trays our flight attendant noticed that my mother next to me had left her singapore noodles virtually untouched. She found it “too spicy.” This worried our flight attendant immensely. Five minutes later my mother was offered a choice of a salmon dinner, or lamb, both meal choices that the flight attendants had dug up in Business Class. My mother was very impressed by the efforts the SQ girls took to make sure she was full and satisfied.
My question is that if the meal was not acceptable, why didn't you ask the cabin crew to give you an alternative? Most of them will be more than happy to give you want you wanted and even offer you a 2nd meal which nearly happened on every single Business Class trip that I took. When I ordered an Indian meal, sometimes the portion is not right so often times I got both depending on what are being offered. You have paid significantly sum for the flight and your wishes and expectation should be higher. You got to test the crew periodically and see what they will do the problems arises and should purposely test the crew's competence . I have seen people return the meal six times and called the purser to correct them each and every time.
There is nothing NOT to love about Singapore Airlines ( even Economy class rocks) and Changi Airport. I got a two week old SQ A350 with the new plane smell mixed with roast turkey Christmas lunch smell on Christmas Day :) Another great review.

Great review. Would love to be able to try SQ’s premium products. Have just flown them London-Auckland (and return) via Singapore in “back of the bus” economy and had for the most part a great experience with comfortable seats, superb cabin crew and good food (for economy class).
