    I did the rockscale skinny smooth titanium scales for my 15v manix. It’s super nice. Can’t believe it took me this many years to get a manix. I think this might be fave Spyderco.

    So, months later, you still like the skinny scales? I’m contemplating…like the curves of the regular scale, but if the skinny improves feel? Also wish I could find the darker graphite version😢

    Nice build brother. Rock scales makes nice replacement ti scales, I have some for my bugout and 940 and definitely makes the knives better. I'm wondering how the bottom half of those scales feel not having a solid connection because of the lanyard tube not being press fit anymore.

      They are definitely sexy but id suggest holding off a week or so till I get a good feel for them and do a review because I do really like them but as of this second I’m not 100% certain that id recommend these specific ones! They definitely arent bad but theirs some differences worth noting that some people may not be a fan of!

    Might go this route with my 15V Manix….are those titanium scales a lot heavier?

  • @lukemeetze
    @lukemeetze 7 месяцев назад

    I’d be concerned that the ball cage is fully extended in the track when it’s open. It has no room to extend more. I’d check for lock rock.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  6 месяцев назад

      I don’t think theres any difference in the length of the track but even if there was, it still has enough spring tension to keep the ball fully engaged with the blade.

    You should get a white or black ceramic ball next!

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  Год назад +1

      Honestly feel they are a waste of money, id be willing to try it and see but just not interested enough to spend money on one. This build doesn’t leave me with anything to be desired, I’m extremely satisfied with it!

    • @chriswebb3018
      @chriswebb3018 Год назад +1

      I put the ceramic balls in all my manix 2's because it comes with the ball cage replacement set from ocd4edc but there isn't a noticeable feel from one another. The only part I don't use is the lighter spring because I prefer a snappier deployment and the stock springs lock up the knife stronger.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  Год назад +1

      @@chriswebb3018 yeah same here! That’s exactly what I figured and that certainly wouldn’t be a upgrade for my preferences! Thanks for clarifying! 👊🏼😁

  • @roadracerqx893
    @roadracerqx893 Год назад

    People always say/show how difficult it is to remove the scales from a Manix…even having to buy a press tool. Wonder why yours came off so easily? It’s one of the reasons I’m hesitant….

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  Год назад

      Some people just aren’t very good with their hands or mechanical skills. There’s nothing about it that seems difficult to me but I’ve worked on alot more knives than the average person so idk man… Probably just depends on your personal skills but as long as you use quality torx drivers such as the ones I use and always recommend, you shouldn’t have to much trouble! 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  Год назад

      Also, you don’t need the press tool. Sometimes the lanyard tube is a little tight but it’s easy to get the scales apart. You just work it side to side till it comes apart. It’s really not as difficult as alot of people make it out to be!
