whenever i want to do a lot of turns/pirouettes i always do some crunches or sit-ups or just a short little ab workout so then when i turn my abs naturally engage more so i stay over my center more which makes me stay up longer
idk if you’ll see this but my teacher always said to “not give in to the turn but hold yourself up, because the worst that could happen is you falling, and i’ll be here to help you up”
I just figured out how to do more a few weeks ago. Something that really helps me is imaging a string pulling me up to the ceiling and down through the floor. Also, really thinking about where my shoulders are positioned helped me because I tend to shrug my shoulders up. Just keep practicing
mackenzie: “im getting mad that im doing only 3” me: girl, i can barely do one! 3 is good especially when its en pointe! 😂 good job and i love your channel 💜
coconut sprinkles yeah same. the most i can do with out pointe shoes is 3 and sometimes 4. But i can only do 1 en pointe. this is only my 2nd year doing pointe so i am still working on it 😂
things that i found helped with turns: - keep weight in the balls of heels in preps -push off with both feet -see yourself face the front before you land i got these from kathryn morgan and tried them today they really work also tip for getting more pirouette: while you're bringing your foot up to passe, keep turning, don't try to bring it up so quickly but obviously still get there by like the 2nd turn
Your weight shouldn’t be in the balls of your feet ever in ballet, it’s just a myth/easy temporary cheat idk who invented that (I guess Balanchine actually lol to try to imitate the correctly trained Russians)
Y’all understand that this is firstly en pointe and two it’s in turnout. Trust me when u see those ig videos the person are either doing it in socks/ turn shoes and it’s mostly in parallel. Doing it in turnout and en pointe is very hard
Or they’re not even doing pirouettes just 10 messy ugly spins with bent knees and hunched shoulders that they and their bad teachers claim are “”””pirouettes”””” lol
I have one thing that will help you on your turns!! don’t cross your foot over in passé keep it on the side. It will help you a lot more! 👍🏻😊 Also don’t sit in your plié to much!! Good luck!! Also your an amazing dancer!
Hey Kenzie! I just got on pre pointe and I have a few questions... 1. How many years did it take for you on pre-pointe??? 2. How old were you? 3. What are some tips to go en pointe faster??
U know that video where she explained the kind of dancers there are? Well, I was like I KNEW IT!!!!! All dancers are the overly emotional person sometimes, yes. Even Mackenzie. 😂♥️
I love your videos they just inspire me to become a better person and a better ballet dancer so thanks for that 😇😇☺️☺️😊😊 Plus I’m so excited I’m going on pointe next week I’m getting my shoes on Saturday with my friends and I’m soo excited and your vids real made me want to be the best I can be
lmao i can barely do 2.5 on flat... i can’t turn anymore on pointe (pretty sure, always too scared to try) because i have weak ankles and kinda of don’t do pointe classes anymore :(
( I don't speak English so sorry if I'm wrong) I'm from Brazil, I loved to see you making piruetas, motivate me to try harder to see that I see that pirouette is training, that was the first year I could do a triple and I m happy, thanks for the video
hey makenzie! just a little tip that might help try to not cheat your front foot right before you start a turn. you like slightly turned your foot in and then went up on pointe. hopefully this will help!😬😊
After a long time of doing like 1.5, I've finally have been doing consistent doubles on both sides. I'm happy with this atm, so, will try to improve on my double turns for ballet. They are a bit shaky. Jazz I can do doubles and sometimes triples. xx
hey you can totally ignore this but i noticed a few things. you can hate on me if i seem rude i’m just spilling my thought before i forget... i’m not sure if it’s how your school teaches but i noticed your 4th is a bit open. this is making it hard to have a deep plié “equal” between both legs. without the plié it looks like you are trying to get momentum by sliding the working foot out and this eventually makes you tilt to one side. i could see you having more force and a better position and it makes me so excited because you could probably do 10 i’m not saying to do this im just really interested to see what would happen if you crossed your 4th and had a really deep plié (almost a quarter of the first turn).
On wednesday and thursday you were too close to the barre: the instinct to avoid it probably made you tilt. It's like you were checking the barre with the corner of your eyes, loosing the spot and, consequently, your axis. Better to get the center of the room or stage. And keep upstage in theater, to control the forward-pushing effect of the floor inclination. Hope these could be useful tips, even if I have been really bad at turning. Goodnight 🌺
I think the reason that you’re losing balance is because you’re doing it continuously on your left leg. Try and switch it up a bit. P. S I do understand that it is harder but I feel like it would help to be able to do it on both
I’m from Russia and I’d be wrong, but you do men’s turns. Like, you don’t bounce slightly. Maybe only Russians ballerinas do this) Now I see difference of ballet in different countries)
whenever i want to do a lot of turns/pirouettes i always do some crunches or sit-ups or just a short little ab workout so then when i turn my abs naturally engage more so i stay over my center more which makes me stay up longer
i need to try this
girlll i do this all the time too, it helps a ton!!!
Abby Hager thanks so much 💝
Oh my gosh that’s so smart 😂
Thx

So true tho

idk if you’ll see this but my teacher always said to “not give in to the turn but hold yourself up, because the worst that could happen is you falling, and i’ll be here to help you up”

samee heree ;( but with a lot of practice you can do it
i can’t even land one
same here and I'm an advanced student thats had to skip levels of dance. What I mean is that I'm dancing with people 6 years older than me
mackenzie: “im getting mad that im doing only 3”

yeah i am just moving on from singles on flat

DigbyTheGoat Worshiper idk if it’s in your heels it seems overly hard to get up. you still have your heels on the floor
DigbyTheGoat Worshiper really? My teacher says our weight should always be in the ball of our foot
Y’all understand that this is firstly en pointe and two it’s in turnout. Trust me when u see those ig videos the person are either doing it in socks/ turn shoes and it’s mostly in parallel. Doing it in turnout and en pointe is very hard

Mackenzie : *4 perfect ballet pirouettes on pointe*
Me : *Falls out of 1 jazz pirouette*
Relatable
That is so me, but I fall out of doubles. 🙃
ME
YASSSSS that's me
Mackenzie: gets mad when does 3
Almost everyone in my class: cheers when someone does a 3
No one cares if you have the same leotard
@@lysm9428 sml?
Isabelle Sebastian NOBODY CARES IF YOU HAVE THE SAME DAMN LEOTARD
@@lysm9428 you're sharing your thoughts and sharing is caring sooo if you dont really care then i guess you shouldn't mind me in the first place😉
Isabelle Sebastian seriously tho like delete your comment this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard other then that name of yours lol
You should do a challenge to see how many consecutive fouettes you can do, or a flexibility challenge of some sort
So... i am supposed to leave for dance class in 10 minutes and I haven’t gotten ready yet and I’m still watching you video!!!
Helena Rose meeeeeeeee all the time lol
The one dislike is the girl who is jealous of ur turns
WHO ELSE LOVES MACKENZIE
BTW I'm a RUclipsr too!
Tayana Zook I just subscribed to you 💜
i saw u in other youtubers chanel saying that

Theresa Carmel lol same
Mackenzie: Does 10 en pointe
Me: Somehow falls out of prep en pointe
Me trying to do a single pirouette on flat in peace...
Mackenzie doing 4-5 a day en pointe...
Me: WHAT!
I can do a double on a GOOD day in pointe shoes😂 you're amazingggg
I have one thing that will help you on your turns!! don’t cross your foot over in passé keep it on the side. It will help you a lot more! 👍🏻😊 Also don’t sit in your plié to much!! Good luck!! Also your an amazing dancer!
Some teachers want your foot like that. I have a teacher that wants it there. It depends on the teacher.
Yes but most company’s don’t like it crossed. But yes you are right!!
Your so amazing and your intro is goals! 🤩
I've always heard relaxing mentally really helps because you're not as tense.
“When I only do 3” omg-
Hey Kenzie! I just got on pre pointe and I have a few questions...
1. How many years did it take for you on pre-pointe???
2. How old were you?

Wait so ur in a pre pointe class?
isabella fovinci Yes.
Oooh wowww we go to the same dance studio! That's awesome girl! I saw that view out the windows and I was shook. I hope to see you one day!
for me, i do my best turns when there's no pressure. just keep working on your own and eventually you'll get five and more :)
I struggle to consistently do 2 pirouettes on flat and I can’t do any on pointe lol
U know that video where she explained the kind of dancers there are?

Madi B you have your leg in front for your ballet turns
0:02 was i the only one who noticed the guy in the back smacking another guy? XD
Only started pointe and it seems so scary to do turns 😬 but I would LOVE to be good at them 💗
Practice makes perfect 👌 your doing great
I want to do dance because of u

Me: Yay I got a good double :))
Mackenzie: uGh oNlLLLy tHREEEE
Can you make a Pirouette / Fouette (sorry if it's wrong written) tutorial? Maybe with some muscle exercises? That would be amazing.
hey makenzie! just a little tip that might help try to not cheat your front foot right before you start a turn. you like slightly turned your foot in and then went up on pointe. hopefully this will help!😬😊

I can only do four (at the very most) in jazz shoes, but only like three point five in ballet flats (not en pointe)
do pointe shoes hurt? asking for a girl going into pointe next year :)
Susanna Mann YES but with the past of the time you are not going to feel it
Marisse Juarez thank you! that’s what i’m scared about that it will hurt forever. but if they don’t then yay!

5 days a week
OMG, I have the same leotard! 😍 😍
Wow
I can do 3 on flat and 2 en pointe. Mackenzie can do like 5 en pointe with great technique
Not sure if this will help but it looks like you pull your right arm up slightly when you start turning throwing off your balance.
First time i caught your vud. Nice. Twice i thought you were going to get another full or half turn in on your 5s. Anyways, cery impressed. 😊
6:03 actually*😂 I was reading this and didn’t even noticed but then was like wait some thing is wrong here
We were doing susu pirouettes and my teacher got mad at me for forgetting the spot..... Is it normal thta I get more dizzy with the spot than without
Loving it
I did 3 turns for the first time ever! So proud :3
What?! Three is the max I can do on FLAT!!! Sis en pointe I’m satisfied with two!

Ana _Lu05 gainer midden (spell check)
@@ashleighbradleys633 even for class?

I'm a street dancer but i find this so entertaining
Please can you do a new Fav Songs Video?
I think the reason that you’re losing balance is because you’re doing it continuously on your left leg. Try and switch it up a bit.
P. S I do understand that it is harder but I feel like it would help to be able to do it on both
And I’m struggling trying to do one turn...
The trick is you should know how to control your turns. My average is 27 (I know, low)
That good
Zaida Rahel 👍🏼
Try following an Anna Mcnulty’s tutorial!
What color your gaynors are?
me, falling on a double on flat
Try lengthening your port de bras when turning, that should help with the balance. Hope that helps 😊
Also love your dancing btw! 😍
*motivation
you need to do a deeper plié because it gives momentum.
Can you collab with the rybka twins
💞💞💞
When your jealous she can do triples!
count ur turns on how many clean ones u do on pointe and don’t count the ones where u already landed
My record pirouettes en pointe is 2 😅
How many can you do in passe?
Hey Mack! That's not hate, i love ypu amd your videos but take care with yoir passé when you do pirouette ;-)
Keep ur center
I’m from Russia and I’d be wrong, but you do men’s turns. Like, you don’t bounce slightly. Maybe only Russians ballerinas do this) Now I see difference of ballet in different countries)
I’m 54th comment please let Mackenzie see his and not get lost in the flood of comments 😘😭😖
Try doing it without geting on fingers
then theres me who can only perfect 2 and sometimes 3 on a GOOD day lmao
Oooo
me- being so proud of myself when i do a double (not even en pointe)
her- 4 turns is pretty normal en pointe
I love you
Yaaaass gurl xx
