Welcome to part 1 of my new wilderness expedition series! *There will be at least 4 episodes. My plan is to release one each Friday until it's over.* What a journey this was, please come along and join us! I had a brief hiatus from RUclips after some summer adventures but I'm happy to be back with a steady flow of content for this Fall. *Check out one of my other documentary series:* ruclips.net/p/PLHfA8Z4nZrxV6NdI_2bXdAiXE0hPKoAXP Thanks!
BRILLIANT! Newfoundland is a hidden unspoiled jewel, beautiful country with equally wonderful people who will go out of their way to give you a hand. Someday I will be back myself. Thanks Justin and Saku for sharing your wonderful journey with us!
I'm a little late but, this video is great, I'm 72 and lived in Alaska and still do all my life. When I was a young man like yourself, I would take off and trek around Alaska, like your dog he seems like a great companion. I have a Karelian Bear dog who keeps me safe. I will have to take a whole day and binge on your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Just have to echo what others have said because you deserve to hear it repetitively: truly excellent filming, editing, and storytelling. Really enjoyed and looking forward to the rest. Thanks Justin :)
Justin you’re approach to you’re channel has been a major influence in me starting my channel dealing with my Alcohol, pot and anxiety while trying to kick start my music career. Thank you for you’re passion!
As I comment this I sit on a lonely mountain. My dog is in a hammock a fire burns . It's going to get a " hard freeze" the shortwave says. For the last two months, I've Been downloading Mr Barbours videos and watching them religiously. Having traveled all over the place. ALL OVER THE PLACE.!! Today I finally get to comment on these videos. Sleeping in the mountains. My honda monkey was my transportation to this remote spot. I am so thankful for The Bannock!!!! Having never heard of it, I you tubed it and now consider it my best pack food. Gonna have some oatmeal ,brown sugar ,cinnamon, Bannock for breakfast. I have a kayak. It's my beautiful friend. Have a wonderful story behind it. It goes where I live. Building my own tiny log cabin to boot. Feel like I am getting away with something. Life IS GOOD! Thanks for your videos.i know alot has go e into them. I'm lazy, need to share . I hope I get the chance. Need a few cameras. Thank you Justin!! May your paddle stay wet and the wind allways at your back.
I can't stop binge watching these videos, you have a way with words, that want to make a person sit down share a beer and tell a good yarn, i just enjoy it all, thanks for the work you do , so people can enjoy , thanks young feller.
Revisiting an old episode. Still glorious after a spell. You know I love you guys. Saku as a bit more of a pup and you east coasters talkin it up..... pretty rad a few minutes in again. It’s like walkin an old trail. Just the best. ( the edit cause I spelled that good old pups name a bit sidewerds. I’ve had a couple, cheers!)
Think I found my new favorite channel. Awesome video man, very well made. The scenery and country is absolutely stunning. Your trusted companion Saku is a champ! Keep the vids coming, I look forward to part II. 👍
Just did not want this to end!!! I hope you found Saku's food! Can't wait for the next video! Beautiful country, awesome trip! Thank you for taking us along!
Wow, just was able to start watching this morning, but had to say right away that Grey River looks like an amazing little town... that whole area is breathtaking. It's hard to describe the feeling you get seeing places like that, for me at least. Looking forward to the rest of your adventure! Back to watching!
"It is one of the blessings of wilderness life that it shows us how few things we need in order to be perfectly happy. " Horace Kephart Justin pure class with what you continue to do.....stay safe:)
What a beautiful place, Grey River. One of the few places in Newfoundland Have not been but want to go too. This should be a dandy adventure for you both.......Take care, Bluefin.
I've been watching your films for a while now and feel like your story telling skills are really coming along from when you started. Not sure what the magic combination is, but keep up the good work! You're a true documentarian.
Justin, i have followed you for years. Joe Robinet mentioned you in a video and i subscribed that day. Honestly i enjoy your videos much more than his. I connect with you because i see a lot of you in me.....an athlete who enjoys dogs, the outdoors, a decent beer, and btinging joy to others. I admire the work you do, i hope one day i can mirror you in starting a channel and continue the joy you bring others! Congrats to you and Saku, keep up the good work!
Your consciousness and thought process when moving the little rock was refreshing and inspiring. This whole video was such a gem. You bring a wonderful aspect to your videos that is all too rare here on RUclips. Im surprised you kept your pack weight at only around 80 pounds. That many days without a resupply is impressive. I’ve found that the feeling of that weight on your back feels wonderful once you start to associate it with paradise. Keep up this stellar lifestyle my friend!
Thanks Aaron really appreciate you watching/commenting and you're bang on with associating the weight with paradise. The pain in my back is a small sacrifice to get out and see what most never will. Cheers from Newfoundland man!
I’ve been watching and waiting for another video from you! Thank you! You are my all time favorite for outdoor adventures even among the Chanel’s that have over 100k subs and more. I can’t say enough about your character and attitude. Not to mention your editing skills and dialog. PLEASE! Make more videos!
I'm always up for a video of your travels. I'm also impressed by the care you took with the the glacial erratics at your campsite. Most people don't know or care about their significance.
So happy to see that your back. I hope your trip to Spain was Epic, and I hope you got out to Barcelona....it's so beautiful. I have had a rough year so far, I've had one surgery, and have 2 more pending. I'm ok, old but tough, it is just a nuisance that keeps me from doing the things that I enjoy. This is one of the reasons that I enjoy your videos. I was doing this sort of thing before there were go pros or video cameras that were pack-able. All I have is my memories, no video documentation. When I watch you and Saku, it's like taking a trip without leaving the house. Thank you for sharing and God Bless, Greg
Greg thanks for watching and the comment buddy. Really appreciate it. Glad to take ya there and good to hear you made it through one surgery. Keep the head up me Heather Saku and Bear send our best wishes
Thirty three minutes and I'm hooked on another of your series. Will be waiting with baited breath for each new offering... as I was with the 68 day man & dog adventure. GREAT STUFF!! Keep it coming. Without doubt, best outdoor content on RUclips. You and Saku what a great combo.
Glad to see you back at it. I have to say that is some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever witnessed. No wonder you love the outdoors. Happy to see yall back.
You have inspired me to get out with my Shepherd this summer and explore Manitoba. Nothing epic, but lots of hiking and camping in the back country. So thanks for that! Keep having fun!
Awesome to see a land exposed like that. In B.C. we have the mountain tops exposed but this is wayyyy different. Love it. Can't wait for episode 2. Cheers from B.C.
Was so looking forward to this, and it didn’t disappoint. Another awesome episode Justin. My favourite channel on RUclips by a mile. Keep em coming buddy.
That fishing cabin at the beginning that they let you stay at..... that scenery is what I imagine as my dream home..... I legit looked up dual citizenship with Canada after this video
Has anyone told you that your voice sounds a lot like Woody Harrelson? I can’t wait to watch this series. I am addicted to your latest. Safe travels....

Fantastic, Yesterday I thought "Hey its gonna be time for you to release an other good series" and boom this hits. I would settle for an one overnighter but this is even better. Day one, here we goooo!
We hope to sail from Maine to Newfoundland in our 28 ft Bristol Channel Cutter. Looks huge and luxurious compared to your canoe and tent, but was made to and has crossed oceans. Beautiful province you're from, Bub!
Something about this episode, above all the others I have enjoyed, is particularly interesting and appealing. Looking forward to more amazing episodes to come.
